Great accommodation, easy to navigate and friendly/helpful staff
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I am so happy to hear about your time here at Hallam so far, and thegreat experience you have had in one of our halls of residence. We love all of the options that we have available for our students in terms of accommodation. All of our accommodation is clean and well looked after, and most of them have en-suites too which is always a bonus! We are so happy that we can guarantee all of our students a room in one of our halls as this takes some of the stress of coming to university away as you know you will have a room with other Hallam students in our popular student areas! We love our facilities and how much we can offer our students. We have two campuses, both with a 24-hour library, as well as laptops to rent and great social/study spaces. We also have great course specific facilities too such as our moot court and labs. We will have even more when our new buildings open too which is really exciting. A good uni for balanced education and social life.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that all students are happy here in every aspect of their university life. Our tutors ensure that they answer any questions that our students have so that they are happy and confident in their work. We also received ‘TEF gold’ for ourteaching framework which is a great achievement. Our SU works hard to make sure every student feels fulfilled in the social aspect of being at university too. We have over 80 great student led societies which are really popular as there is something for everyone! Very good location (about 20 minute walk to uni and 5 minute walk to city centre). Very good value for money because it has alot of facilities such as washing machines and a cinema room.

I liked my last contract so much I stayed as a second year resident this September. Spacious kitchen, very good room layout. Facilities are always in hand (I.e, washing). The reception staff are kind and helpful.

Sheffield Hallam University has really good facilities as well as easy to access help in case of any academic year difficulties or problems, the student support team give really great advice as well as quickly link you to professionals to deal with your worries. The library has really great sources and as well as easy to download textbooks, research resources, old research results process to help you with your assignments or thesis / dissertation without having to spend fortunes on the textbooks. The tutor are really great at going over the topics of course and if any questions they ready to help anytime, they are really friendly and easy to get along as well as the tutor reply to emails very soon to their best of abilities.

We love all of the facilities that we have on offer for our students. We have great social and study areas, two 24-hour libraries and also great coucrse specific facilities such as our moot court and labs. We will have even more great facilities when our new buildings open which is really exciting. We love the amount of support we can offer our students too. Every student has access to three teams of support - an academic advisory team, an employability team and a student support team. They are always there to help you and you can easily make an appointment to talk to them. Our libraries are great and there are loads of things to access on our E-Library too! We are happy that we can offer access to lots of our textbooks so that students don't have to buy lots of text books. Our tutors pride themselves on ensuring that all students are happy and confident in their work. They are always there to help and support students and answer any questions they may have. Lots of our students choose to live on Ecclesall Road in their second and third years which is where our Collegiate campus is. Nice campus with supportive staff and professors

The academic staff are generally helpful and the coursework is engaging, though there are occasional lapses in administrative efficiency. The campus facilities are decent but some areas could use updating. Socially, Sheffield offers a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities and a supportive student community. Accommodation is affordable but varies in quality. Overall, it's a good university experience with both strengths and areas for improvement.

I am currently studying in my second year at Sheffield Hallam. I have found everything so easy to access on the universities blackboard site and the support from my course leaders has been excellent. Every university building is so close together, making it an easy journey between lectures and seminars. The buildings are very modern with comfortable setting and a reliable WiFi connection for completing assignments. Hallam is a great university for all and I am enjoying my time here so much!

moved here in January 2024. it’s been an great experience residing here. All the amenities are nicely maintained by the staff.

No nightlife events at the SU, unlike Uni of. decent amount of societies but none took my fancy. Collegiate campus is nice but not enough social spaces. Regular emails about careers opportunities.

There is a huge Hallam presence in the city centre… with Hallam buildings everywhere. The design of the city campus is nice, with lots of different buildings and nooks and crannies to hide away and study in (or socialise in!). The teaching staff are great and they really do genuinely care, which is refreshing. The weak point is the SU. The students union really does try… but the uptake of their events is very low, so there’s not much point going to an SU event in the hopes of socialising. The lack of our own student bar really causes a lack of community I feel. Regardless, there are some great societies at Hallam, and I would recommend Hallam as a great university to attend.

Overall a decent campus, really like the fact that the buildings have been kept authentic, just a few areas that could be improved but my experience there has been really good.

Hallam is a great space to learn, with excellent facilities and study spaces. It has lots of nearby places to fill up spare time and is close to many accomodation options

We at Unit 13 really appreciate the efforts that the new owners have taken. It was high time that these measures should have been made. Have been seeing steady dedication and progress by the new team in past month, be it taring the roads to setting up the street lights and even sending out maitainance the very same day the complaints are lodged. Very pleased by this managment😊

City Campus Owen is a great place to study

I am now in my final year and can say I’ve definitely loved my experience here. I’ve got to interact with many people, from local students, other internationals students, my lecturers and staff member. Definitely recommend working as Hallam Student Community Leader which helped pave many brilliant opportunities. I got to support/attend many events here which helped with my personal development. Also have to give a shout out to the career connect staff members as they really do put out many helpful events like cv and cover letter drop in session, spring career fair and many more. Last but not least, I also love the calm and green environment here compared to crowded cities. Sheffield definitely was the choice for a great university experience.

The campus is nice and buildings are easy to find are quite close together. The Student Union doesn't really seem to be used much i think that could be improved. But overall the University is great.
