Great opportunities to join various societies

Fabulous university with incredible facilities and staff

We pride ourselves on what we can offer our students and we are so proud of both of our lovely campuses and our lovely staff. We have two campuses, both with great facilities. We have two 24-hour libraries, study and social areas and lots of laptops you can rent too. We also have great course specific facilities such as our moot court and kitchens! It's really good experience so far

Really good experience so far, I just wish the university can help me out with finding a part-time weekend job as being a first year university student that to coming from a different place it's a hard for me to search jobs for students in Sheffield.

They are there to help you with things like this, so if you can try and make an appointement with them they will be happy to go through your CV and try and help you find a job. You really have to dig deep for events and support.

Our SU works hard to put lots of events on throughout the year where you can try something fun and meet people, but it can be hard to put on something for everyone. We also have three teams of support for our students - our careers team, our academic advisory team and our general support team. The best Student Accommodation in Sheffield if you are studying in either of the two Universities, as it is not far from their. Good location at an affordable cost. Shout to Michelle, she is mother, Charles is brother.... Adam, Wren, Emma and Callum are good humans. you will love it here.

We are proud to be able to offer all of our students a room in one of our halls of residence if they would like it where you can live with other Hallam students and it is a great way of making friends with lots of new people! We make sure that all of our accommodation is kept to a great standard for all of our students. Most have en-suitebathrooms and they are clean and modern! Really nice uni, staff are very supportive and friendly. Atmosphere is very positive around the engineering building EMB and the new buildings. Not much experience with the SU but they always seem to be hosting events. Would recommend. Sheffield is also lovely
It's been a good experience, I don't have any particular complaints.
An outstanding accommodation experience from start to finish. The rooms are modern, spotless, and extremely comfortable, with the entire building maintained to the highest standard. The staff are exceptional—professional, responsive, and genuinely caring—making daily life smooth and stress-free. The location is perfect, close to everything yet peaceful inside. Overall, this place offers premium comfort, great management, and a truly exceptional living experience. Highly recommended.”

Very good accommodation, had a great experience

We have lots of great accomodation options which we are so proud of. All of them have lovely amentites and are within walking distance of at least one of our campuses and they all offer slighly different things in terms of price and specific facilities so there is something for everyone. Good facilities however lecturers often don’t speak perfect English and also are sometimes still learning how to teach so often read from a presentation which isn’t very engaging. But the campus and what the university offer is good.

A good place to study, societies are really good and affordable, lots of new buildings to study in and lots of study spaces

Good i enjoy .the fact that there is 5 poeple per flat and the rooms are very spacious compared to some others i have seen.Also the bathrooms are quiye nice and also quite spacious.

My experience at Sheffield Hallam University has been one of the most transformative and rewarding chapters of my life. Coming from India to pursue my Master’s in Financial Management, I had high expectations and a lot of nervous excitement about studying abroad for the first time. From the moment I arrived in Sheffield, I felt welcomed, supported, and inspired to grow academically, professionally, and personally. The university offers a great balance of academic excellence, student support, and a friendly atmosphere that helps students from all backgrounds thrive. The academic experience at Sheffield Hallam is truly impressive. The course structure for Financial Management is well-designed, combining theory with practical, real-world applications. Every module I studied was thoughtfully planned to give students the skills and knowledge required in today’s financial industry. The professors and lecturers are highly qualified, approachable, and genuinely interested in helping students

They are great and will make appointments with you and can help with anything you may need help with. Firstly, I am sorry that the WiFi has not been working as well as it should be for you. The WiFi should be working well for all students in all buildings, but if you are really struggling you can contact the IT team who will help you with this.
So far the experience of SHU has been fantastic. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the environment at the uni is very welcoming as a whole.

I like the uni and the location of it and the courses are very good

We love that both of our campuses are in such a great location and are so close to the city centre. Our city campus is located right in the centre of town, near the train and bus station s which is great for our students that commute! Our collegiate campus is located just off Ecclesall Road which is a lively student area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops! Lots of our students choose to live there in their second and third years too which makes it a great area. We have lots of great facilities for our students too – we have two 24-hour libraries as well as computers and laptops to rent and just great general study and social spaces. We will have even more when our new buildings open too which is really exciting! Our tutors work so hard too and are constantly reviewing the courses to ensure content is accurate and relevant! WiFi is good throughout buildings

All the staff are lovely and my seminar tutors are great. The help desk is always handy. As far as I’m aware the students union is being moved somewhere else so there isn’t much there right now but I haven’t actually been told anything by the uni

Campus is quiet nice and really easy to get to the town centre and to the other buildings

Most is good, toilets need to be cleaned more frequently

Sheffield Hallam university is great place to study. Lecturers are very friendly and open to help with any inquiries students may have. There is also Hallam help that helps with general questions that one may have. There’s a great library both online and in campuses that allow for great student learning experiences. They offer events that allow to progress in academics and many more.

Staff are lovely, the buildings are fairly easy to locate, just had some new buildings on campus for this year such as Langsett which is stunning! All the students i’ve spoken to are friendly and polite.
