Where is Sheffield Hallam University Located?
Sheffield Hallam University is in South Yorkshire, which is right in the centre of the UK. Leeds and Manchester are its neighbouring cities, with London only a two-hour train journey away.
City Campus is just a few minutes' walk from Sheffield train station, and is surrounded by shops, cafés, and pubs. Just a 25-minute walk away is Collegiate Campus, which mixes some of Sheffield's best bars, markets, and restaurants with stunning parks for studying in the sunshine.

If it's the Robotics Masters course that you're considering at Sheffield Hallam, you'll have the opportunity to benefit from the support of your supervisory team, consisting of a Director of Studies and a second supervisor who has specific interest in your chosen subject area. Also, in addition to carrying out your work independently, you'll recieve research training, Linux and ROS training and you can also opt to undertake training in Matlab, Open GL, InDesign, Illustration and After Effects. Fun and lots of events taking place

Decent campus, loads of study spaces and cafes where you can get good deals on food and drink. It’s very close to the city centre so very easy to get other things like food. The new buildings are great social spaces, but EMB building is a bit old and lacking in appearance. Other than that it’s a decent university

I had a great stay here the accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout. It’s in a convenient location and the overall experience was welcoming and stress-free.

The university is really big and close to the train station, which is super convenient. Everyone is very welcoming, even on campus

Could be more range of societies not centred around drinking so much as a lot of not interested in that are kind of pointless. Students union don’t really know much about but heard it’s not necessarily great. Overall though everything is good.
WiFi can be hit and miss in a few areas however, collegiate campus is amazing with many facilities to use such as the library and gym. The societies are extremely welcoming.
Careers helped me get placement through helping me highlight my strengths in my application and prepping me for an interview

Good learning experiences and opportunties

Brilliant university, my lecturers are awesome and the societies are super interesting.

Great uni experience, I was very shy when starting uni but after over a year studying I have made many friends and found a lot of passion in my course and the skillset that comes with it.

We have over 80 great societies which are always very popular and we have great 'give it a go' events where students go to new places such as London, Alton Towers or a Sheffield Steelers game (my personal favourite!). Our tutors are great too and look after the academics - they are always there to help you and answer your questions to ensure you are happy and confident in your work. very friendly uni, staff & students. i often find difficulties with printers & machinery being out of order in HPO, which makes it difficult to complete work. i think there could be a great improvement on career help with more in depth meetings with careers staff, as well as more of an interest from staff themselves.
I studied at Derby Uni and quit - Sheffield Hallam has so many more support networks and is much better suited for me! Would recommend to ANYONE!

Sheffield Hallam University has been an excellent place to study, offering a really supportive and engaging student experience. The teaching staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. Lecturers are always willing to provide extra support, whether it’s academic guidance, feedback, or career advice. The facilities are modern and well maintained, especially the libraries, study spaces, and specialist course equipment. There are plenty of quiet areas for focused study as well as collaborative spaces for group work, which makes learning much more flexible and enjoyable. Its generally okay, the wifi is quite bad but there are good deals in SU cafes

I love to stay here, it's near market and station

The student union is basically a club for people wanting to get something extra on their CV and no longer embodies the spirit of a union and the facilities are good enough to not need new expensive buildings built

Sheffield Hallam University has been an overall good experience as a first year as the staff are all mostly good at teaching here. Campus is great since all my classes are within walking distance with going to different buildings. The new business building, Langsett, is great as there's everything you could possibly need especially since there's cafe which is very convenient. Just wish the wifi could be better around campus because in certain places it can't be accessed sometimes. I hope there is going to be a better student union as the current one isn't very inviting or used very often.

As an international student, I booked Pinnacles without seeing it in person and expected the room to be small because of the affordable price—but it turned out to be much bigger and more beautiful than I imagined. The space is modern, clean, and really feels like home. There are lots of social activities that make living here fun, and the common room is stunning. I love the free cinema and all the amenities that come with the accommodation. My favorite part is definitely the free breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole environment feels safe and welcoming. Pinnacles has truly exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it!

Connection is not very good in some parts of campus. But the facilities are good, campus is close. The club's are good but a little expensive.

Sheffield Hallam has been a brilliant university experience for me — the teaching is engaging and supportive, the campus is modern and easy to navigate, and there’s always someone available to help whether it’s academic support, wellbeing services, or career advice. The facilities are really impressive, especially the study spaces and labs, and the city itself is friendly, affordable, and full of things to do. I’ve grown so much during my time here and genuinely feel that Hallam provides a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to succeed. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone considering studying here.

Really good experience so far, I just wish the university can help me out with finding a part-time weekend job as being a first year university student that to coming from a different place it's a hard for me to search jobs for students in Sheffield.

The best Student Accommodation in Sheffield if you are studying in either of the two Universities, as it is not far from their. Good location at an affordable cost. Shout to Michelle, she is mother, Charles is brother.... Adam, Wren, Emma and Callum are good humans. you will love it here.

Really nice uni, staff are very supportive and friendly. Atmosphere is very positive around the engineering building EMB and the new buildings. Not much experience with the SU but they always seem to be hosting events. Would recommend. Sheffield is also lovely
