As an international student, I booked Pinnacles without seeing it in person and expected the room to be small because of the affordable price—but it turned out to be much bigger and more beautiful than I imagined. The space is modern, clean, and really feels like home. There are lots of social activities that make living here fun, and the common room is stunning. I love the free cinema and all the amenities that come with the accommodation. My favorite part is definitely the free breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole environment feels safe and welcoming. Pinnacles has truly exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it!

Where is Sheffield Hallam University Located?
Sheffield Hallam University is in South Yorkshire, which is right in the centre of the UK. Leeds and Manchester are its neighbouring cities, with London only a two-hour train journey away.

Hi, thank you for your question. If it's the Robotics Masters course that you're considering at Sheffield Hallam, you'll have the opportunity to benefit from the support of your supervisory team, consisting of a Director of Studies and a second supervisor who has specific interest in your chosen subject area. Also, in addition to carrying out your work independently, you'll recieve research training, Linux and ROS training and you can also opt to undertake training in Matlab, Open GL, InDesign, Illustration and After Effects. Sheffield Hallam University has been an overall good experience as a first year as the staff are all mostly good at teaching here. Campus is great since all my classes are within walking distance with going to different buildings. The new business building, Langsett, is great as there's everything you could possibly need especially since there's cafe which is very convenient. Just wish the wifi could be better around campus because in certain places it can't be accessed sometimes. I hope there is going to be a better student union as the current one isn't very inviting or used very often.

Connection is not very good in some parts of campus. But the facilities are good, campus is close. The club's are good but a little expensive.

Sheffield Hallam has been a brilliant university experience for me — the teaching is engaging and supportive, the campus is modern and easy to navigate, and there’s always someone available to help whether it’s academic support, wellbeing services, or career advice. The facilities are really impressive, especially the study spaces and labs, and the city itself is friendly, affordable, and full of things to do. I’ve grown so much during my time here and genuinely feel that Hallam provides a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to succeed. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone considering studying here.

Really good experience so far, I just wish the university can help me out with finding a part-time weekend job as being a first year university student that to coming from a different place it's a hard for me to search jobs for students in Sheffield.
You really have to dig deep for events and support.
The best Student Accommodation in Sheffield if you are studying in either of the two Universities, as it is not far from their. Good location at an affordable cost. Shout to Michelle, she is mother, Charles is brother.... Adam, Wren, Emma and Callum are good humans. you will love it here.
Really nice uni, staff are very supportive and friendly. Atmosphere is very positive around the engineering building EMB and the new buildings. Not much experience with the SU but they always seem to be hosting events. Would recommend. Sheffield is also lovely
It's been a good experience, I don't have any particular complaints.
An outstanding accommodation experience from start to finish. The rooms are modern, spotless, and extremely comfortable, with the entire building maintained to the highest standard. The staff are exceptional—professional, responsive, and genuinely caring—making daily life smooth and stress-free. The location is perfect, close to everything yet peaceful inside. Overall, this place offers premium comfort, great management, and a truly exceptional living experience. Highly recommended.”

Very good accommodation, had a great experience

Good facilities however lecturers often don’t speak perfect English and also are sometimes still learning how to teach so often read from a presentation which isn’t very engaging. But the campus and what the university offer is good.

A good place to study, societies are really good and affordable, lots of new buildings to study in and lots of study spaces

Good i enjoy .the fact that there is 5 poeple per flat and the rooms are very spacious compared to some others i have seen.Also the bathrooms are quiye nice and also quite spacious.

My experience at Sheffield Hallam University has been one of the most transformative and rewarding chapters of my life. Coming from India to pursue my Master’s in Financial Management, I had high expectations and a lot of nervous excitement about studying abroad for the first time. Firstly, I am sorry that the WiFi has not been working as well as it should be for you. The WiFi should be working well for all students in all buildings, but if you are really struggling you can contact the IT team who will help you with this.
So far the experience of SHU has been fantastic. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the environment at the uni is very welcoming as a whole.

I like the uni and the location of it and the courses are very good

We love that both of our campuses are in such a great location and are so close to the city centre. Our city campus is located right in the centre of town, near the train and bus station s which is great for our students that commute! Our collegiate campus is located just off Ecclesall Road which is a lively student area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops! Lots of our students choose to live there in their second and third years too which makes it a great area. We have lots of great facilities for our students too – we have two 24-hour libraries as well as computers and laptops to rent and just great general study and social spaces. We will have even more when our new buildings open too which is really exciting! Our tutors work so hard too and are constantly reviewing the courses to ensure content is accurate and relevant!
