I’ve had a great experience with my course
really nice, cool buildings with lots of seating and its nice that everything is close together.
All facilities are easy to access and free (apart from sports which is very normal) and the support given is clear and helpful. Campus is maintained nicely and always clean.
Don’t have any complaints with the uni
It’s been a great experience here
The WiFi is poor especially within the student village
I’m really enjoying my experience at this university. The campus and facilities are excellent, providing a great environment for students. The accommodation is also top-quality, and I especially appreciate that the building is accessible and supported 24/7 which makes it very convenient
I've quite enjoyed my experience at the University of Sheffield so far. Especially as an engineering student, I like the Diamond.
Student Union is the highlight of the Uni. Lots of study space and social spaces. Large selection of clubs and societies to join.
Overall brilliant student union, societies and facilities.
Living in Shore Court is too far from the city to join clubs. It's a small pity.
Lit and wonderful place but make sure you’re good at walking, no like bikes out here
Great campus and students union.
We have a got a great variety of clubs and societies
Having a brilliant time here, the societies and academic facilities are excellent.
The SU is a great hub for societies and a nice environment to be around. It’s a shame that the university is spending so much on renovating buildings when they could be paying their staff.
University has a lot of different buildings to choose to spend your free time in, which is good if your looking for different places to study and socialise.
love the SU, especially the foundry
better sports facilities for example more outside netball courts would be useful
I enjoyed the freebies given out at the student union during semester 1. The student union is really good.
Really lovely community of people. The societies and SU are fantastic.
Really loved staying at this accommodation. There’s lots of facilities and it has everything you need. Would definitely recommend!!!
I am very glad I chose to come to the University of Sheffield. I am a part of Pom Cheer which I thoroughly enjoy.
The uni gives lots of information about events and societies, as well as other opportunities to further enrich your education. The societies are very active and the uni staff are great at responding in detail and quickly to any queries and help I may have asked about.
Haven't used the careers service so can't comment on it, but everything else is great!
I am very happy with the university facilities.
Most of my lectures are in The Wave which I love. It’s such a nice modern building. There’s so many clubs and societies to pick from, the options genuinely feel endless, there’s something for everyone. I haven’t looked into the careers service too much but will be soon to apply for placements however I do receive emails regularly about career opportunities. The WiFi is generally very good just the occasional slow moment.
All the activities and opportunities are often oversubscribed. This means that, whilst there are interesting events, there is too much demand and therefore many students cannot enjoy them.
I am part of the athletics club and it's really great, lots of fun socials as well as lots put on by the SU. I really like the stalls and markets they sometimes have around. It's all very well organised and I really like going to the SU.
the university facilities are nice i guess
Pretty great university no glaring issues
the university has a lot of facilities with so many opportunities
Great experience so far. Nothing to complain about. Wifi disconnects but this is not University side.
Great uni, brilliant student life
Best decision to came here, I found it everyone very helpful, and a good quality in education.
Overall great uni. Leading research but humanities also highly respected. Amazing students union with atleast something going on every day. Great campus and friendly cheap city
Great student union and societies but the wifis not great and cuts out at least once a day.
I have a very good experience the only thing I would say need to be better is the internet sometimes it works grate but other times it works very slow
Strikes have limited my studying. Not much careers advice yet but expecting more in second year.
Decent social settings! The student union is very impressive.
The communication in my course has been poor; lectures posted late, lack of information on modules/assessment briefs/exam briefs, as well as a deadline for an assessment being set 3 days before the deadline. The Students Union is state of the art; brilliant facilities and great affordable club nights. Only issue is the very good food is slightly expensive. Internet on campus is not too bad, depending on what building you're in, much better than in accommodation (Endcliffe). The university offers plenty of clubs, all with regular events/bar crawls, the societies fair was very well organised for promoting these clubs.
Love the number of societies, nice facilities for studying and hanging out.
wifi not that reliable but the clubs and societies r good
Really lovely and calm environment with amazing services and opportunities provided for students to grow and experience new things.
basic again, nothing to complain about at all
Campus is kept tidy, plenty of spaces to go. SU very organised, lots going on all the time.
Nice buildings, good clubs and societies but I haven't joined many
The internet sucks, the career service is not very good, they don't understand the needs in different industries.
My favourite part is the zero waste shop in the student union, I love trying out all the different snacks and it's very good value for money.
I like the studio room overall. It is quite spacious, and the appliances and furniture are in reasonably good condition. However, there is mild mould in the bathroom, and the kitchen does not come with an oven or even a microwave with oven functionality, which can be somewhat restrictive at times. That said, these issues are not detrimental overall, and I particularly like the quietness and the location of the area.
The campus has lots of good study spaces especially the IC although sometimes there’s not enough space. The food options are good. The WiFi is unreliable making it harder to study
Everything at Sheffield University is amazing. The support, the events, the clubs, societies, etc, is exceptional. I love how the university prioritises students above all else, providing well-being, employability, and learning support services. I truly believe that every student here is well supported and have a great time during their time at the University of Sheffield.
Great university.. didn't regret being part of
All lectures can be found very easily on the websites that are relevant to the course and the Sheffield website itself has everything you could need in one place and if you don’t know where something is, it’s very easy to search for.
It’s good, th students union has lots of stuff in it
Campus has lots on offer with plenty of activities each week (sober and non sober). With societies having plenty of events fortnightly or weekly
Really great services from the university, all clubs and societies are really great and well ran. Wifi is great 90% of the time
i don’t know what to write here i just want to enter the giveaway
I love my school of geography. Professors are exceptional and I feel it is worth studying here.
very good university has all the essentials to get through it and lots of activities from societies and clubs.
Great facilities all around, internet is usually good but can be spotty.
I love sheffield, the city and the uni. It was my dream uni so I am biased but I adore it. I'm studying engineering and the facilities are incredible. I lovestudying in the diamond or the24hour IC library.
Overall good, SU is a great study space with a large shop/cafe options and advice centres. Also the student club at the SU is great and popular with everyone
City uni so everything is a bit far apart but facilities and buildings are really good
So many extracurricular opportunities, I feel very lucky.
Not bad but I wish the services for international students were better.
Good interactive and nice community with the Student Union always a good comfortable and homely place to either study, relax or play board games
Not used societies much but the student union is very good
Really enjoying first year so far, the uni is great. Teaching quality is high, and the social scene is fantastic
clubs and societies could be cheaper but very nice variety and options
The campus is large and well integrated into the city, which makes Sheffield feel very student friendly. Facilities such as libraries, study spaces, and social areas are well maintained and accessible, particularly during busy periods of the academic year.
Great uni, nice location. Friendly staff generally, great SU and social life, lots of societies and clubs.
Nice buildings, all within reasonable distance from each other. The students union is great but could do with more study spaces in there or make greater use of the space in the Wave.
Lots of study spaces, a good gym, and in a good area for exploring the city
I really enjoy the uni campus I think it’s a very nice envroonmwnt and everyone is very friendly
Buildings all easy to navigate, amazing SU with loads of societies, sports clubs and activities. Staff are generally helpful with loads of study spaces. WiFi strong in study spaces.
really good services, loads of societies and events making uni life enjoyable and interactive
Brilliant experience and lots of support available for academics and social
The WiFi is not very reliable and you often have to use your data
Great university, lots of good services and the diamond building is excellent.
I love SU of this university They offer a lot of valuable opportunities
It is a great university with lots of opportunities
i enjoy my lectures and the food options are amaizng
There’s a massive range of clubs and societies you can join. Get in on it asap, it’s best to do things in first year because you’ll just get more busy as time goes on.
All round an amazing university.
Everything is really great, there’s nothing more I could ask for.
The only thing that needs improvement is wifi. Keeps constantly disconnecting
Lots of sports qnd clubs available, wifi is unreliable though
Internet again can be quite patchy generally. Many societies for a wide range of hobbies and interests
Great place overall for uni, would recommend
Overall great experience so far. Accommodation is a bit far from buildings I need to go for lectures/seminars but not a main issue
Great lecturers, emphasise student voice. Great research opportunities
Great societys and student union, and as an engineering student theres loads of labs and resources. But, the wifi, eduroam, can be extremely unreliable and annoying sometimes, seemingly even worse this year. If you're in the university village / accomodation, it also uses eduroam so there's no escape (plus the offical uni accom is extremely over priced). Way better to go for private student accomodation, it's often a shorter walk to, if you get one near west street. Loving my time here overall!
Good location next to Tesco and nice sized desks
Nice place! The staff was pretty helpful.
Haven’t been all around campus but seems nice and podcast station is nice but I haven’t used it yet.
Good uni good facilities and libraries
Very good accommodation, the common room and gym are amazing, very clean and modern rooms!
Great uni for socialising and stem subjects
The university is really good and has many services and activities that are amazing for students.
