My experience at this university has been very positive. The campus is large and beautiful, and I love that you can buy coffee and food right inside the university. The professors and students are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. The university organizes many events for all students and often gives out fun free items, which makes student life more exciting. As an international student, I really appreciate the diversity here — meeting people from different countries creates a rich and welcoming atmosphere. Even if you don’t know anyone at first, it’s easy to make friends because everyone is open and kind. There are also many free sports activities and fun events outside of classes. Coming here was one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I would definitely stay for a full year if I could.

Hi there,
Thank you for your query and interest in Manchester Metropoltan University.
With regards to career prospects and opportunities, many of our graduates begin their careers in new product development. You could work in a variety of roles across the food and nutrition industry though, in areas such as quality and food safety, food manufacturing, food marketing and technical management. Some of the roles you could pursue include food production manager, food technologist, consumer care manager, technical manager, food buyer, and legal compliance officer.
With regards to the practical and theoretical saspects of the course, there is a balance. You’ll have days with a mix of lectures, seminars and practical sessions (such as product development in our food technology laboratories), so that you develop technical skills as well as academic knowledge of food science and in other seminar sessions/workshops, you’ll learn how to promote food safety through quality management systems, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). This is so that you understand how to meet the legal responsibilities of food business operations in producing safe products, as well as the quality requirements of your customers. I can confirm that there will however be no practical assessment with 95% being assessed via coursework and 5% being assessed by examination.
You are more than welcome to contact the programme leader, Andrew Hollingsworth at a.hollingsworth@mmu.ac.uk should you have furhter questions related to the programme. Great place, made amazing friends and the university is amazing as a whole.
Good uni, Very high end facilities and buildings.
Amazing staff and maintenance team here, could not recommend it more!! Lots of events take place here, good location and really good value wise.
Always something going on and a huge array of societies and study spaces
good student union cafe and events
They make sure we socialise enough and give us engaging activities. The facilities are good although on my course we have to pay extra out of our own pockets for stuff like portfolio boxes that are mandatory.
more careers advice for SODA building please!
It’s a good uni definitely in need of better internet but other than that’s it’s great
I haven’t really experienced the career service just yet, but there is always something fun on at the student union, sales etc and there is a huge range of societies and clubs
Nice community and campus, all buildings are close together, making it easy to get from lecture to lecture etc.
Always activities going on at the student union, the campus I study on which is the business and law building is very modern with up to date facilities, there could be more water fountains around though.
Great facilities and a rango of events :) the campus is also really pretty walking home at night it looks lovely
Man Met has so many opportunities. I take a media course and the staff and careers advice is outstanding!
My experience at Manchester Metropolitan University has been largely positive. The teaching staff are supportive and knowledgeable, and most modules are well structured with clear expectations. The university has good facilities, particularly the library and study spaces, which make it easier to stay focused. I’ve also found the campus to be welcoming and inclusive, with plenty of support services available when needed. Overall, MMU has provided a good academic and social environment for my studies.
..............................
Excellent university, good support from staff and tutors
I love MMU! Could be more clubs and societies for sure but the existing ones are amazing. The facilities are incredibly modern and have everything you may need.
Can’t complain, everything in really to standard
Amazing place to live for first year or foundation students
I haven’t really done much things in student union but they are often advertising this they seems to be a lot going on. I feel as though the lectures could be improved a lot is encouraging independent work which I have heard from a lot students as well as myself but overall it’s great so far.
I have been urged by numerous activities to experience all uni amenities The random food offers in at archways are my personal favourite
Great university with many help from staff. Very accessible and the building look nice and modern.
it has been good overall and i have had a nice time
Lots of opportunities given to us
All of our buildings are super modern with a wide range of facilities!
Not much to complain about, very social during weekends and there's always events or freebies up for grabs. The SU is very reliable and the campus is quite accessible.
need better support and responses from staff at the university
The campus (Brooks Building) is great. For me personally, I live on campus, meaning it is near another two-minute walk to my lectures. The Brooks building always has social events going on, and the small cafe is great for a quick coffee before class.
So so perfect and amazing i think its best one available
Great experience, very social and welcoming
all around good university with lots to offer
I have really been biting the university experience so far, and feel that the facilities and staff members are really great! However I think there could be more improvement on the career services aswell as more activities in the student union. But overall been really great!
Great university with a diverse outlook accepting all students for themselves. I feel confident and supported by the university.
Neston High School Sixth Form facilities are quite modern, but the teaching is widely average, nothing extraordinary. Nothing was above and beyond. It’s also in the middle of nowhere so it’s badly connected transport wise and it also means there’s little to no wifi.
Great university staff are super friendly and helpful in my course everything is accessible and guidance is given when in need. Union is a great place to hang out with friends and making them! Society are fun and very good at helping make friends but some can feel less inclusive. The internet is a struggle as you have to log into it every hour or so in class. Overall good uni and glad l went here would recommend!
Supportive community. Good academic feedback. Decent facilities and teaching.
I think the societies are really good, wish’s there was pole society though and I think that the union events are really good too.
easily accessible wifi for students that auto joins when inside the building, good for researching during lectures/tutorials
My experience at this university has been very positive. The campus is large and beautiful, and I love that you can buy coffee and food right inside the university. The professors and students are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. The university organizes many events for all students and often gives out fun free items, which makes student life more exciting. The student union is great and has many events for freshers, there’s also a lot of clubs and societies
Great services but WiFi is extremely unreliable
Mmu is very nice and I like the uni life
Liam and Ally have been great always helping
some of the societies aren’t great and don’t offer much and come with a charge which should be looked into
Really good uni, cares about mental wellbeing
It’s good for activities and making friends
good but no careers in my field (forensic psychology)
Amazing couldn’t ask for anything better
it’s nice they provided good services
As an international student, my experience on campus has been very positive. The facilities are modern and well-kept, however the study spaces is manageable, same goes for the computer labs, and social areas that make it easy to balance work and relaxation. As for the clubs and societies although they are diverse and welcoming, but hope more attention could be put into international students even though they mentioned offering great opportunities to meet new people and get involved. Moreover, Students’ Union is active and supportive. The careers service has also been valuable, providing guidance, workshops, and CV support that make preparing for future opportunities much easier. Overall, it’s an acceptable environment for international students. Thank you.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our Students' Union is completely independent from the university, and they can provide you with support if you are finding that international students could be more supported with clubd and societies. The Union also has an International Students Group, which you can find more about here: https://www.theunionmmu.org/get-involved/international-student-group. I hope this helps!
great university that offers many opportunities and facilities for students. The student union has been refurbished with loads of study spaces, a cafe and bars.
I’m having a brilliant time at mmu. I am studying my masters and compared to my undergrad at UoM everyone is happier and the facilities are much better
The campus is a modern and easily navigable layout, complemented by a food hub that offers a decent variety of options. While prices could be more student-friendly, the convenience is appreciated. The internet service is generally reliable, although occasional connectivity issues can arise, particularly on higher floors of the library. The availability of functional plug sockets in lecture halls could be improved to better support students throughout long days of classes. The careers service stands out for its comprehensive offerings and consistent communication. While the new library is a popular spot, it can be difficult to find a quiet place to study because it is often loud and busy, which is a pain, especially for commuting students. The Students' Union keeps students informed through email updates.
The university has been very welcoming since i have started. There has been many events to show every aspect and community within in not just the university and city. There has also been a substantial about of information around careers and placements alongside help from my tutor. For example the future me plan. The only issue that has occurred is the dalton building lecture theatres do not accommodate left handed individuals. So far i have enjoyed my time at Manchester and i am looking forward to the years to come!
Clubs and society’s have loads of options but non of them are interesting to all lots very similar. Dalton lecture theatre not suitable for left handed students other than that facility’s are amazing. Wi-Fi is slow to connect but great once connected. Student union is great!
I love studying at MMU,but one thing i hate about it, is the edurome WIFI. I deeply hate it from the bottom of my heart, Other than that MMU has such a diverse community and it’s located in the heart of manchester.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We would always recommend reporting any Wi-Fi service issues to our IT team so that they can investigate any individual cases, as they may not be aware there is an issue. You can contact the team on 0161 247 4646 or through their live chat here https://manmetchat.mmu.ac.uk/. I hope this helps and you see some improvement.
I really like my economics course ; all of the modules are organised really well and the moodle page is very useful with providing information about deadlines on assignments etc.
I had a great experience in MMU and I made lots of good connections with other people
Studying Economics at Manchester Metropolitan has been a genuinely positive experience. The course is well-structured, with lecturers who explain concepts clearly and make the material engaging. The support available—both academic and pastoral—has been consistently strong, and the uni creates a welcoming environment for undergraduates. The facilities are modern, the campus is easy to navigate, and there’s a real sense of community. Overall, it’s a great place to study and develop academically.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We are happy to hear you are enjoying your time here.
I have had best experience of my life being at this university, I’m sooo grateful that they accepted me. I have made the best friends and learned the most valuable skills & knowledge that I have been able to take into my life and be successful. I’m going to be sad to leave!! Might have to continue lol. Also the tutors, lecturers and all staff are AMAZING.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We are happy to hear you are enjoying your time here.
Campus facilities are great especially the library. I feel like students could benefit from more information about the available facilities like laptop hires and the different rooms you can book at the library. Societies aren’t the best advertised. I love the library.
Man Met has provided a great environment for learning and social opportunity. I’ve particularly enjoyed my time in MUFSS the I’m associated ski society. Other highlights would be the support of my personal tutors and lecturers.
University seems pretty good from the stats but honestly As a finance Student Career opportunities are so much low and market is saturated.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The Careers hub is avaliable to all students and may be able to provide you with potential work experience, CV guidance and other employability tips. You can find out more by visiting: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/careers. Furthermore, the Jobs Hub in the Geoffrey Manton building offers additional guidance, and advertises a number of job roles. I hope this helps and you are able to make full use of the service.
The uni very good the library website I feel could be a little easier to navigate and I am not always aware of what is on offer so perhaps sharing what is available more regularly would be helpful. The societies are great I am part of one and I really enjoy it! Perhaps there could be more funding to allow for more sports teams meaning more students can be involved.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! If you do have anything you would like to let our Library team know about how to improve their service, please get in touch here: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/library/using-the-library/contacts. Each course also has a subject librarian who can help point you to resources and help you make the most of the Library. Hope this helps!
Good university with good facilities. I like the facilities within John Dalton the best however the seats need cleaning in the booths (student negligence, not so much the university). Good help and support during semester times. You can tell the university deeply cares about our integration into our post grad careers. I don’t regret declining the University of Salford for here at all! :)
Love the campus. Nice business school. Love the staff and environment
I’d say overall my experience is good enough I would say holding more events around university would be good
Good support. I like the campus and there’s decent facilities however there could be a lot more study spaces.
Having a good time, learning a lot and teachers are teaching very well.
As a 3rd year undergraduate, I’ve found the facilities fantastic and lecturers and seminars are professional and informative, I’ve learnt a lot about myself through attending and overall its been a fantastic experience!
So I do accounting and finance, so far it’s pretty good, I have all the information needed for my course and the lector and teachers are very kinds and useful, they send automatic replies.
I love the university from facilities to environment
Very modernized and well organized classrooms,
Really great friendly people and staff
Really good facilities and great staff and food
I am a second year student at MMU and I have found the staff and facilities to be quite great. I have enjoyed several society events I have attended such as the Debating Society, and there also many social spaces to study and talk with friends. I would recommend this to any prospective student
Overall, good. Wi-Fi is only good in certain areas of the business building.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It’s been amazing I love the campus and everyone is quite friendly just love the overall vibe!
It's a great University. The facilities are modern and it's makes learning a wonderful experience.
Not been here long but enjoying it so far.
When I first started university, I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the right path for me, but the welcoming environment and supportive people around me quickly made me feel part of the community. From my first year onward, the experience has been truly rewarding, it has helped me grow in confidence and build valuable networking connections within the industry I aspire to work in. The lecturers have consistently provided the guidance and support I needed, making my journey not only successful but also memorable.

Here’s a short, simple paragraph just over 100 words: My experience at university has been mostly positive. The campus itself is great, with lots of spaces to study, relax and meet new people, but it was definitely confusing to navigate at first. The clubs and societies are a great part, because they make it easy to socialise and find people with similar interests. The Students’ Union has also been really helpful whenever I’ve needed support or information. The only thing that could really improve is the Wi-Fi, which can be slow and just not work at times. Overall, it’s a good environment with a few things to work on.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a positive review. We would always recommend reporting any Wi-Fi service issues to our IT team so that they can investigate any individual cases, as they may not be aware there is an issue. Great, has a amazing time so far

My MMU was my always first priority when it comes to a great business school in UK. And my university always comes beyond my expectations. I learned alot and my university always supported me in best terms. I would definitely recommend this to my other friends and family.
Amazing really blessed to have this opportunity.
I’ve really enjoyed my time here as there’s great society where i’ve been able to make friends which made me feel comfortable as it was scary moving at first. they have great education system.
