The university provides an excellent learning environment with supportive and knowledgeable teachers who always encourage students to improve. MMU has a really good academic history with good campus management and so many societies to join. I am really enjoying my time here studying law as there are so many accessible resources via the MMU library and also eco friendly resources around the business building.

As someone who lives in Manchester it’s great to go to university in a place I am familiar with. I love that the campus is in the city compared to where I did my undergrad which felt far away from town
Just joined as master’s and i find it really not very helpful or interactive as barriers for interaction are lagged. But so far facilities and space is awesome
Overall the university is so far so good I think they can really work on their placement programs

My experience studying at MMU has been very good. As a creative writing student my course is one of the best in the UK, my professors are incredibly helpful and inspiring and always listen to feedback for modules. There’s also lots of placement opportunities which tailors my cv to what I want to go in to later on. There’s also services to facilitate all my needs such as counseling, free gym classes and societies to join.
I have felt very supported throughout my time at MMU via the careers hub, tutors, lecturers, and support staff. Also extracurricular programs are very helpful and good for CVs

The new dalton building is the best place to study as there’s lots of places to sit. It’s a nice atmosphere.

When I first started university, I wasn’t entirely sure if it was the right path for me, but the welcoming environment and supportive people around me quickly made me feel part of the community. From my first year onward, the experience has been truly rewarding, it has helped me grow in confidence and build valuable networking connections within the industry I aspire to work in. The lecturers have consistently provided the guidance and support I needed, making my journey not only successful but also memorable.
Attending MMU is the best experience I’ve had in my life the facilities and courses are amazing the friendly environment makes me feel like I am a part of the MMU union. Everything about the university is great and fantastic.
Uni has been going great as lecturers always are willing to help and they make sure that everyone is doing good. However I feel that some modules need to explain the assignments a bit more as it could be confusing especially that uni is completely a different entity than college which could make the modules a bit harder to understand which makes uni a bit stressful

Your personal tutor will also be able to assist you at any time if you are struggling with any particular part of your course. Internet WiFi is not good. Don't like the authentication requests we have to do every five minutes does not get any easier and makes me lose focus.

My course is interesting and there are quite a few facilities in place to help me with my academic and professional career.
Amazing uni with amazing facilities, good WiFi for lectures apart from in Geoffrey Manton. Amazing seating areas and food options in between uni lectures and really good support system.
Amazing experience around campus so far. My course is great and all the staff have been so friendly and helpful. There are so many extra curricular activities that link to my course to benefit me further.
As a degree apprentice im only here once a week, i wish clubs were more accessible

There are great facilities at mmu, i personally have only used the business building but the food court there is extremely varied and caters for all different taste buds. The range of seating for studying is also ideal.
The diversity and campus facilities really stand out and are nice.
I have really been enjoying my course. The lecturers are all very nice and I feel like I could go up to them if I had a question or I needed help with anything or even if I needed someone to talk to! I have also really enjoyed the environment of uni. It is very similar to the college I went to and I instantly felt comfortable here

i made abida my friend and she helped me focus in uni. the teachers give a lot of support and i feel comfortable attending to mmu.
Overall good. Sometimes it feels like the lecture/ seminars are a bit pointless considering how much we pay. And when it’s just reading off the slides I just think I should have stayed at home.

My university experience was a mix of figuring things out, pushing myself, and slowly realizing who I’m becoming. I didn’t start off knowing exactly what I wanted, but as I moved through my degree, I learned to navigate tougher classes, heavier workloads, and the pressure of trying to balance everything at once. It wasn’t always smooth, but each semester made me a bit more confident in my abilities.
I study Law and my course is amazing i would reccommend others to do ut but also the tutors and lecturers are really helpfull

My experience at MMU has been good. The campus is well-maintained, lecturers are approachable, and the university provides useful opportunities for students.

The campuses and study facilities within the campus are all very modern, clean and well designed. The university offers social study spaces and quiet ones. Theres quite a wide range of clubs, especially sports ones. When it comes to societies, theres quite a few, however not loads and loads but I’d obviously expect that to change within the next few months considering the wave of new freshers coming in. Theres many inclusive societies to do with religion, ethnicity, identity etc. From what ive seen so far as a fresher, the mmu student union hold an array of regular events. Theres a section within the Geoffrey Manton building for careers, and though i've not been myself yet i’ve been told the staff are very eager and helpful. I find that my data doesn’t ever really work on campus, however after connecting to the wifi I get a decently good connection.

Joining a society at uni has been one of my best experiences so far. It gave me the chance to meet people outside my course, try new things, and feel part of a community. The events are well organised and it’s a great way to balance studying with something fun and social.

Particularly good for its extracurriculars and careers support, there are always lots of opportunities. A major let down is the way complaints are dealt with - I had a horrible experience with some flatmates and the uni hardly did anything to support me

University life at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) is truly an amazing experience. The campus is vibrant, the people are friendly, and there’s always something happening, whether it’s meeting new faces, joining societies, or exploring the buzzing city of Manchester. MMU offers plenty of opportunities both academically and socially, making it a great place to grow personally and professionally. However, while the overall student experience is strong, the Student Union does fall short in a few areas. Funding can be limited, and many societies seem to focus more on socials than on the actual values or interests they’re meant to represent. Educational or career-focused events are less frequent, which can be disappointing for students looking to get more from their societies beyond nights out. That said, MMU remains a fantastic place to study, meet people, and make the most out of university life, especially if you’re proactive in seeking the right opportunities.

campus is a lovely place to be, very clean and well looked after. I'm not a huge social person but have gone to a few events organised by the F1 society and have always felt welcomed and respected.

MMU has a lot of buildings, albeit some are quite spread out, that offer a lot of facilities and equipment fit for studying. I would prefer it if the temporary library actually contained books and more study areas, as during exam season these can become really difficult to obtain and can leave you with nowhere suitable to study as someone who cannot focus in a social environment/open space study area. One thing I don’t like is that the roof terrace of the Dalton Building is only accessible to students studying in the fields of doctoring and science, as I feel as though there is no reason for the access to be limited and I pay a lot of money to attend this university too. On the whole though, the uni is very sociable and organises events frequently in and around campus and there is 24 hour security on site for those living in halls. The careers service are also very easy to reach out to and provide lots of helpful information.

As a top up student coming to UK for my third year was already very scary but as soon as i went to man met, met my heads, peers and union - everything felt into place, it wasnt like where am i, it felt like i am here, now. i have had the best support from everyone literally everyone, the staff, the university members even from different department, the union. my most cherised and experience of a lifetime.

Very bad unsocial no help with teachers or feedback

Most of our staff do have office hours, where students can get in touch to discuss anything they may be struggling with on their course, or to recieve exam feedback and tips on how to improve. Students should also be assigned a personal tutor, who can assist with this. Alternatively, the Student Hub are on-hand to assist with any difficulties students may be having during their time here, and are reachabe in-person at their hubs in the Business School and the Brooks Builidng, or via their helpline on 0161 247 1000, between 10am and 4pm.
