Overall I love the faculties available at MMU, if there was anything I’d like to be improved is societies as there were some really great ones for year 1 and 2 which unfortunately were no longer available in 3rd year.

Two words: wonderful and unforgettable.
Amazing welcoming experience with all modern facilities and great teaching standards
I am enjoying my first year at MMU for sure. Great course (English and Creative Writing) and facilities (24 hour library as well as a poetry library to come in the following year!) The only thing my uni experience falls down on is lacking social side of things which includes societies/inactive societies.
Hi, thank you for your review and great to hear that you are enjoying your course and the library! Have you spoken to the Students Union about the particular society you are interested in? If we don't offer one in that area, or is it currently inactive, i am sure they would be interested in working with you to start the society up.
I’m a first year and the university has been so welcoming and made me feel a proper grown up just living in a different city. The library is 24/7 and although I hope I never have to be there at 3am, it is nice knowing I can stay as late/be as early as I want. The apps that the science students use are also available on the library computers which is really useful if I haven’t finished my work. The library is massive and has loads of different sections (quiet/silent/group) which is useful. The lecturers are all really friendly and very knowledgeable meaning we can throw all kinds of questions at them. The accommodation is amazing and makes me feel at home. Most of the buildings also have a nice modern feel to them so everything is up to date. It’s a great uni :)
Thank you for your fantastic review, we are very keen to make sure you have a positive experience during your time here at MMU. The library is an excellent environment for students to work on their assignments. And a comfortable place to work particularly when in groups. We pride ourselves on the standard of teaching at the University, and that they are contributing to your positive experience. Our eccellent teaching quality has been recognised with a Teaching Excellence Framework Silver award. It is important that you settle in when you are at University and having good accommodation help you do this.
Great uni with lots of support.
Thankyou for the great review.
Great for developing Life skills but terrible Academic teaching
I have received no support whatsoever at MMU, to the point I feel as though I am going to fail my degree.
Hi, i am sorry to hear that you don't feel like you have the support you need. If you are still at the University have you tried contacting Study Skills team? They are a team of dedicated tutors who can offer support on academic writing, presentation sills and can provide feedback on your draft writing. You can also contact our Wellbeing Team for support.
I love my uni - the uni alone is great although the personal life experiences you go through at times are probably anything but...
It is great that your experience here at MMU is good, however it is important to have a balance, have you explored the clubs and societies that are available at the University. These are a great place to meet people.
My time at Man Met has been fantastic. There is always a time of support and opportunities available. My confidence and ambition has continued to grow throughout my time at University. I now run our Law society which is doing extremely well and has in turn provided more and more job prospects.
Lots of support, lots of engagement from the university itself and a welcoming atmosphere all around
Great facilities and great teaching. I always felt safe at MMU and I always had the full support of lecturers and careers hub staff whenever I needed them.
Excellent uni, everyone happy to help whatever it is. great resources and facilities.
Thank you for your commens. We are fortunate to have such good facilities and resources here at MMU. The library offers so much support and information.
Living in accommodation is good for the social life, and a great location as it’s in the central of Manchester. there are societies for everything that also offer a lot. The university it’s self has everything you need, and the tutors personally I find helpful. It’s all round a great university and I’m glad I’ve came.
From being here I've come to the realisation this is a very middle of the road uni. Don't expect anything special. Nuff said
Wasn't my first choice uni when I started, but it's been over a year since I graduated and I wouldn't change a thing. Great standard of teaching, genuinely insightful and passionate lecturers, good range of facilities, mad sports clubs, the list goes on. Three years at Manchester Metropolitan and I feel like I can call Manchester my second home.
Banging uni, loads of support if you need it, and very quick WiFi on campus
Lovely atmosphere everyone really friendly.
Good, under-rated university, tutors do a lot for you and very good social.
I studied LLB Law at MMU and it was by far the best experience of my life. I applied for 3 universities in London because I thought that’s where I wanted to go, but I went to look at MMU first and it set the bar sky high. I knew I was going there as soon as I’d seen it, and that the other places didn’t stand a chance. Everything was beyond amazing! I recommended a friend from home to go to MMU and she’s now currently in her 3rd year studying PR and marketing and she’s having the best time. She contacted me shortly after starting just to thank me for all of the advice, and said she couldn’t imagine herself anywhere else! The city is incredible, the people are so lovely, and everything is all in one place. Couldn’t have chosen a better university to go to, and I’m so so happy I went there. If I could relive it, I would, even the exams and the coursework!!
I’ve studied here for 2 years (2017-2019). Overall good experience and would recommend.
Good first few months really enjoying my time
fantastic that you have had such a positive start.
Amazing university, with a great support system for struggling students. Facilities are outstanding, Brooks building in particular has helpful staff, great communal area and a good cafeteria.
The best university ( I have been to 2 others, one in Uk and one in France)
Such a good uni with new buildings and amazing staff
Really impressed with the uni, buildings are lovely and modern, lecturers are really helpful and knowledgable I’m happy there !
Great university helpful staff came through clearing so glad i came here everyone is so polite and nice
It good that you were able to secure a place through Clearing, and it has worked out well for you.
The facilities are constantly being upgraded so it's a great place for people who do STEM courses. The student union has amazing staff and a union shop which is stocked with food, stationery, hoodies and art supplies. It also has an advice center with staff member that genuinely care and are empathetic to every problem large or small. The careers service is very professional and they will help you in every aspect of job finding from helping you touch up your CV to sending you job vacancies by email every time they are available. Perfect uni in every aspect.
My university surpassed my expectations and I am extremely happy with my choice.
Lovely people, great facilities, some really nice buildings
Inclusive of all students and always gets students together, whether for socials or fairs or meetups. Staff are really helpful and never leave you on your own. Plenty of facilities, plenty of computers, laptops to use if students do not yet have their own. Always food and drink nearby, on compus and in the surroundings.
Attending university to study law and love my lecturers so helpful
We are pleased you are enjoying your course. Thankyou.
Overall had a pretty good experience so far. I’m at the School of Theatre so cant say much about MMU itself
Nice campus, good variety of courses, great social side and useful pastoral care.
Excellent lecturers and facilities.
Very good university for student support, campus is nice and well looked after with good security.
It's got the best well-being support
Overall fantastic experience at MMU. Especially in the politics department.
This uni preaches sustainability but has every student print off their assignments - at a large cost to the student - when they could just be uploaded online! Food is extortionate, from a corporate angle this uni is awful but the student sides - like support and sports, societies etc are amazing, couldn’t fault it!
Thank you for you review, we are adressing sustainability within the University. most of our faculties now require student to submit course work and assignments electronically. However, there is always an expection to the rule and some courses must have deemed it necessary to ask for papers to be printed. In the future we would hope to move to all electronic and have made a substantial effor towards this. On the positive note you seen to be enjoying student life and have enjoyed the extra curricular activities.
I’m so so so glad I chose Social Work at MMU. I literally love my course, my teachers are amazing and the Brooks building is brand new. I look forward to uni which I know a lot of people at other unis don’t. Couldn’t recommend more!
Amazing facilities, modern, easy to navigate buildings. Good food choice in canteen, cafes and student union. Lecturers and tutors very helpful and timetable is consistent.
Honestly best uni, it has everything you could wish for socially as well as the study side being amazing. The career hub there is also available for you to use for 2 years after you graduate!
Mainly focused on research and self working
Absolutely hands down the best of Manchester’s two unis!!
Best 3 years of my life! Would recommended the university and the city.
The student support on my course wasn't particularly good. I wasn't told about a lot of things that would have helped me while I studied. My mum was also really ill in my final year and even suffered from a heart attack but I wasn't given the option of extentions as your unit leader has to sign them off and mine refused.
We are sorry you have not had such a great experience whilst here at MMU. There are Student support systems in place for all students. Students can apply for consideration of Exceptional Factors for short-term unexpected events that have a serious impact. Again we are sorry to hear you had difficulty whilst studying and felt you did not get the support you needed.
Great facilities and very knowledgable staff
Good services and student support. Each area of the university feels unique.
Great uni, great lecturer, great faculties, not much else you can want
Lovely university with many facilities and information points such at the student hubs. The union is big, bright, and a chill place to relax and meet with your friends. Staff are friendly and the modules for my course (English and Creative Writing) are interesting.
My tutors are really helpful and supportive. The WiFi is really good and the facilities they have great as well!
Thankyou for your comments. We pride ourselves on the standard of teaching and the excellent facilities we have here at MMU.
The careers service could definitely be improved by having more careers related lectures or seminars or making careers appointments available to book online. Also there could be more activities to do around the campus that doesn't include being part of a club or society.
University environment feels very professional and I like it.
Thanks, we pride ourselves on maintaining a professional service for all students. This helps create a possitive environment for your studies.
Manchester Metropolitan University is a great, historic and modern University! The campus is large and the facilities which are constantly being upgraded, are outstanding, offering students an excellent environment to study and advance their skills. In addition, there are new student hubs where you can be advised and be given solutions to any problems you may have to deal with. The quality of education is high and the professors and the tutors are very helpful and supportive. Finally, I strongly believe that it is a privilege to study in Manchester Metropolitan University
Thank you for your amazing review, we are happy to hear that you are having such a positive experience. The new Student Hubs are available throughout the campus and the hub staff are happy to help and advise all students.
I barely ever went to uni last year cause I lived in daisy bank and it genuinely made me depressed and so unmotivated so I can’t really say
We are sorry to hear you have had such a bad experience in your accommodation. We have a team of Residential Advisors who can help with any concerns for all aspect of living at UNI. If you are continuing your studies here with us we hope you have found accommodation that suites you better, If you are having any problems at all you can contact Student Support.
Student support staff are excellent, loved communicating with them, lectures and class teachers are so funny and dead on! Even though I quit uni before I finished my degree due to financial reasons, the university staff are always smiling, helpful and makes you feel welcome as if you were at home !❤️❤️
AMAZING university. In such a good location meaning close access to the city. My course was well taught and allowed me to graduate with a first class degree. First year accommodation is very close to the campus meaning only a short walk is required! most amazing city to live in for three years!
Thankyou for this great review. well done on your 1st degree. We agree, being able to offer the 1st year students accommodation on campus makes life a lot easier for the 1st year student, with getting to lectures and seminars and for settling in.
University full of green space. Very modern buildings and upto date. Amazing support from staff.
I had an amazing time at MMU, the psychology faculty are phenomenal and the pole society was so well run and great fun! I recommend MMU to anyone looking to go to university in the North of England!
It is great that you had such a positive experience at MMU. the Pole society sounds like good fun. We have a wide range of societies avalable for every one to join.
They have the best staff ever! I had an issue with my enrolment so i went to talk with the student hub and they solved the issue with the biggest smile ever!!
Thanks for the review. Thats great, The Student Hub is a great place to start with any issues.
Good modern buildings and good WiFi connection in most. Campus is very close to city centre and most accomodation.
Had the best 3 years at this University!
Excellent, thank you for your review.
Help is always close whenever you need it. Theres a society for almost anythung. Easily accessible buildings
Thankyou so much for your review. We build upon our societies year on year, we have a wide range for everyone.
Amazing experience at this uni, lectures really informing and lecturers give loads of support
The staff are so bad they don't give a crap about the students and I faced bullying from a senior members at the Cheshire campus last year so I was scared to even go to uni
So sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. We do not like to hear of students being unhappy during their time here and we do not as a University tolerate bullying. If you wish to provide any further feedback you can email us direc at manmetuni@mmu.ac.uk and we will pass this on to the relevant faculty.
Incredibly supportive! Always go the extra mile to ensure you do well and enjoy it while you do. I've loved every minute and don't want it to end.
Thankyou for your great review.:)
Amazing lectures and small places to revise in. The staff are friendly and the opportunities are endless.
Very unique way of teaching. Focusing on a single subject at one go. Highly recommend it.
Great uni specially school of art
Thanks for your review, we are very proud to be the home of The Manchester School of Art.
A good uni, with support and good internet
Being an Indian we are used to a lot of career support but while coming to UK I was well aware that it wasn't the case here and I'm glad I chose MMU as they were really helpful .
This uni is amazing. Especially the support the lecturers give to you inside and outside the lectures. The facilities are great and you have all resources by hand if needed.
All the services provided are delivered at the highest standard by the most open and friendly personel on Campus. Buildings are close enough to walk between, whilst getting enough social time and fresh air. Every tutor i've met has been friendly, enthusiastic and insightful, and if they can't help you then they will point you in the right direction. Work is shared on the personal web, sorted by module and week to help organise workload and revision. Looking back on my education, it's clear that we all had different goals and ideals, whereas when studying in MMU, I stood in a room with 500 other people all enthusiastic about the same thing. There are plug sockets available in corridors and halls, wifi wherever you go, even outside in some places, so many oppertunities regarding societies and the union, and all the facilities are top-notch or being improved. Eg, all the buildings have been refurbished, except JD, yet all the facilities in JD match or outshine those in other buildings.
Everything is really good, only improvement could be a club in the union in my opinion
MMU is a good uni for business degrees
Just walking round the City Campus and I feel safe. I think the people that are there are what makes this university. The tutors are lovely, couldn’t have asked for a better first year.
Really good uni with a lot of support and facilities are new
Lovely clean and modern uni, with a lot of help
Great university that I would totally recommend!!
It has been great! Amazing student experience. Everything at your disposal if you need it!!
Just finished my degree here and had such a pleasurable experience the uni do everything possible to make sure try get the most of it
Great friendly happy staff, who are happy to talk and help. Great clean campus. Good food in the food courts. Easy to understand layout. Great computers and second to none ICT services.
My first year has been great, so much help from the university and the union throughout the whole year. The resources and facilities that students have access to helps with everything like assignments as well as the student lifestyle
Amazing uni and great support.
Pretty decent uni. The lecturers were cool.
After studying business here I would reccomend MMU to anyone.
If your looking for a uni that will support you and guide you ready for work, look at another uni I can't fault the facilities or the campus it's clean offerers so much support in that respect but the tutors who actually guide the courses is another thing sadly they don't understand fully what there teacher or are now outdated and don't have the experience necessary to break in to the job world.
Amazing experience in both academic and extra curricular
It is a professional setting and the setting helps to revise and learn since you feel at ease
The campus is pretty good in general. But there’s the issue that the nursing cohorts don’t fit into the Brooks building (for which it was designed), so we use Geoffrey Manton a lot instead. I’ve heard that the clubs and societies are really good, however if you’re a nursing student you rarely have the time to be part of these due to the timings. Student union is really good, cannot fault them. Careers service always contact me, however I’m never used them, they have a good outreach. The internet is quite good in all the buildings.
Had an amazing experience. There was opportunity to get involved in so many different paths and also I had the opportunity to change my course which helped me out. I found what I love to study and also tool the opportunity to change my degree from a BA to a BSC by studying a statistics unit which involves placement- this made me more confident and employable. Staff are friendly and helpful too, they genuinely care about your grades.
Really helpful staff who actually care about students. Lots of opportunities to get involved with extracurricular activities relevant to course. The student jobs range is also great.
Needs to be more activities in society's as I joined one in first year and never heard anything from it now I'm in third year. Other than that, amazing experience
After going to a different uni and moving to man met i can say it’s the best thing i’ve done in my 21 years
When I first went to MMU there was a huge stigma that it wasn’t great because it wasn’t a Russell Group University but I couldn’t be more pleased I went there! I had the best experience at MMU! I ended up graduating with a First class degree with plenty of experience, industry connections, friends made from societies, transferable skills from societies and working at the Union, and so much more! I wouldn’t consider anywhere else to do a Masters course which I would like to do at MMU in a few years! I couldn’t recommend it more! If I could choose any university in the UK to do my degree again at, I would choose MMU all over again!
The teaching and marking is corrupt. The university gives little guidance on careers for students
Absolutely loved this place! Miss it so much! Staff are fantastic, and the atmosphere is amazing!
Having finished my third year this University is incredible. The societies are welcoming and the staff at the Union end up being good people to talk to about pretty much anything. Those who have taught me across my Film and media studies Degree are people who I’m glad to have met and keep in contact with now I’m post my University Degree
Generally a very good uni. Economics department is horrific though.
MMU is inclusive, diverse and students friendly. Accessible for students with disabilities.
Great University with amazing facilities.
