As a first year student I have limited experience in Loughborough University but it is quite apparent that the campus is well managed and the rest of the facilities is great.
Great level for sport but most lectures are online for my course (geography)

Quite stressful, depending on the course you are taking. Would be beneficial to have some more days off in between semesters.

Loughborough has a great standard for teaching but unfortunately there could be more done in the way of social presence

In the meantime you may want to check out the societies that our Students' Union has to offer. They are always advertising new events too and if you give their social media accounts a follow you'll stay updated.
Good facilities and opportunities on campus with pretty good support throughout. Little do do outside of campus and often not a lot going on/advertised.
Hello, glad to hear that you are enjoying campus life. For things to do outside of campus you could check out Event Brite as often there are events advertised on there. There is also the Town Hall for shows/concerts. If there is nothing local that interests you then Loughborough has great transport links to Nottingham and Leicester - there are always things happening in the cities!
It’s a friendly environment with lots to offer. Especially if you play sports. The societies are way too many in number. The halls are great and so is the safety and security. It’s a wonderful experience and it’s like a town in itself.

Very good uni, great for sports. Student union is main club which is good, Nottingham very close so nights out there are easy.

Loughborough University is the place to be when it comes to finding a good study-life balance. Not only will you be able to focus on your studies, there are a wide variety of opportunities to play sports. The student union also hosts many outstanding events throughout the year.
A healthy work/life balance is so important and it's great to hear that you are experiencing this with us. Good to know that you're making use of our outstanding sports facilities and Students' Union too!
As someone who isn't particularly involved in sport. I have found that Loughborough has a lot to offer overall. I have found that my experience of things like freshers has been a lot better than my friends at other unis. I have also found the academic side of things well organised and easy to engage with.

Loughborough University, honestly a solid 10/10. Everything about this university is great ! If you like some challenge and healthy competition and these are skills top firms are really looking into these days in potential clients, then I would say Loughborough University is meant for you ! So why waste your time debating on whether loughborough or not, head straight to your UCAS and make this a firm choice. Can't wait to see you!

Great sporting facilities with a lot of activities to do and a wide range of clubs and societies. Campus has lots of areas to study and do group work and projects.

Loughborough has great facilities not only for sports but for education, the uni also has so many things going on to allow people to get involved and make new friends. The uni allows you to have fun as well as get good grades and do well in your studies
This is lovely, thanks for sharing with us and it's so nice to hear that you're having fun! The Students' Union always has events on and one of the many benefits of campus living is that you're within walking distance of pretty much everything you need. It saves you time which you can spend revising and socialising!

Amazing sports facilities expected of a number 1sports uni in the world. Dissatisfied with online lecturers being hard to understand and follow.

Thanks for the review. There are buses on campus that you might find useful, they are very regular and can take you into the town centre too. Bigger campus = more to do!
The sports facilties are great and their website 'learn' is a great resource

Loughborough's a student friendly uni with a culture and vibe which is ideal for most. It's state-of-the-art facilities, especially from a sporting context, allow aspiring athletes to continue to compete at a high standard alongside boosting their studies. The focus and support on optimising your career after university has also been impressive.

Great campus, amazing sports facilities, very high quality education and student support. There are a reasonable number of club nights and some cool societies here to join, there’s also the LU motorsport team for those interested in racing and engineering.

Having only been here for 1 month I could not have picked a better uni! Every aspect is incredible, and when speaking to my friends at other unis, it sounds like Loughborough can’t be matched!

Not a huge amount of facilities on campus, the student union offers a small number of societies with most of the existing ones only being for specific nationalities. The on-campus internet is very unreliable and often mobile data is just better and easier to make use of. Student Union events and services aren't too bad but are often just very crowded and somewhat misleading in description.
Sorry to hear you’re finding it difficult to find things of interest at the Student’s Union. It’s worth exploring a little further as there are actually over 100 societies to join. There’s the Surf Club, the Video Game Society, Quidditch, LSU Sing!, Belly Dancing, to name a few… plus there are country-specific and religious societies that are open to anyone. You can even see if there are any ‘Give it a Go’ sessions so you can try the society out before becoming a member. If you can’t find one you like you can start your own with the SU’s support. On top of the societies, there are 58 sports clubs ranging from American Football through to Wheelchair Basketball.

Still new to the university but can say it seems technologically advanced, with major installations and size, many facilities and opportunities, more than we can manage, especially in the initial stage.
Did you know that £350m has been invested in our facilities over the last ten years! Keep trying and I’m sure you’ll be able to make use of all the great stuff on campus before your graduate.

I have only seen the campus for about 2 months -during Covid-19 - so I haven’t seen much. But in general, the campus looks amazing. I must complain about the level cleaning in various facilities however. For example, accommodations reserved for prospective students (at least in my personal experience), and the library… Filthy places…

Overall it's not bad. The careers network is non-existent, they will give you a few links but won't help as much as I wish they did. The campus is huge and absolutely beautiful. There are lots of sports you can try out, very expensive tho. Accommodations are good based on in which one you live, you could be in CP or end up in bad places such as Telford. The lectures are really good.

University is great - the design school is incredible and definitely worth studying here for. Was here during the pandemic so didn't get to experience it fully but can imagine it's a great experience!

A warm, unpretentious and positive environment to live and to study. The campus is very well maintained and provides a lot of activities for anyone at the university.

Despite COVID-19, this University has been fantastic and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here! The support this year has been excellent and I have always known that I have people looking out for my wellbeing; when we were isolating, we had constant food deliveries and staff checking we were okay. Whilst teaching was online, my lecturers tried their best to engage and make learning as fun as possible. The campus is great and is undoubtedly the BIGGEST selling point - lots of green spaces and a real community. THank you Loughborough!
My experience at Loughborough has been phenomenal! The 4 years I have spent here have definitely been the best so far. I was extremely supported by lecturers and the facilities are incredible, which only made the experience during COVID-19 so much better than expected. Loughborough University has a very warm family feel to it which makes you feel like you're home. Its been an honour to have graduated from such a wonderful university.
Loughborough has a great hall sprit and social aspects. The facilities, lectures and staff members are brilliant and provide lots of support with anything you do!
Studying at Loughborough has so far been a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere at the University is very friendly with both staff and students. The modules taught are very well considered for each degree and the social life is also great with many clubs and societies.
Great campus life. Should have a student discount for buses to town.

I've been at Loughborough University since 2006, almost 15 years, through undergraduate, PhD and postdoc. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The campus is beautiful, everything is walking distance.
As a first year student this year was both weird in the sense of covid ruining our chances to experience to them fullest what the night life is in loughborough however the sport facilities, campus and the overall loughborough community made me really enjoy my year.
It’s the best student experience you can get. Everything is tailored to enjoyment whether the sports or the nights out. Also the best VC in the country.
Great experience as a 1st year student and looking forward to using more of the great facilities the university has to offer next year!
I wasn’t able to use the campus facilities and student union much due to COVID however whenever I did use them I did feel satisfied. The clubs and societies available at Loughborough are varied and are accommodating.
By far my favourite university in UK out of the 20 universities I visited! The community is so friendly and welcoming and the facilities are insane!

Bakewell is nice accommodation with lots of hall activities. It’s very hall community focused. Good campus and bus around campus. Not too far from town with enough student things to do and easy train to Nottingham or Leicester for more nightlife.
Loughborough Uni has a great social scene and social facilities. The teaching on the most part is pretty good, although communication to certain lecturers can be difficult/ inconsistent. Also, there should be more provision of department sport

Loughborough University has a diverse community of students and teachers which makes your experience there very interesting, educational and open! The facilities are various and high quality. The university also helps a lot with adapting or preparing for the real world!
Loughborough is the best University and you really feel like a big family ( I know its cheesy) but the atmosphere is great especially if you like sports and even if you don't there so much outside space to drink or party or chill around campus
