Read Loughborough University Reviews
Loughborough come with a community atmosphere where you feel connected to everyone. It has a very friendly and respectful culture which makes students feel they are part of a family. I think this drives students to achieve more, especially when it comes to improving society. There's so much to get involved in, that I wasn't done exploring even after 5 years of studying at Loughborough. I have to say, it was the best 5 years of my life.

I have started my part-time course a couple of years ago. The modules have been delivered on a 1-weekly basis. Pretty good!
Wi-Fi sometimes cuts out, but that's Eduroam for you...
Loughborough has truly become my home away from home and I could not be more in love with a place. It has given me so many opportunities to develop as a person, so much more than I ever expected, and I could not be more grateful to an institution for the incredibly life-changing experience. I am a stranger to the person that I came to university as three years ago, and I could not be more comfortable in my own skin now and proud to be who I am, and it is Loughborough and its student experience that has done that for me!

I feel so at home at Loughborough and there is so much support all around. For me, I needed a university that felt safe and happy and I definitely feel that Loughborough represents that. There is a high focus on health, both physical and mental, and such a great student atmosphere.

The best Uni in the country but the wifi isnt the best

I couldn't have wished for a better place to live and study for three years. Loughborough has the most beautiful, green, campus to live and study on, with something always going on and a real sense of community throughout the entire university. Staff took a genuine interest in both my academic and personal development and the lecturers in my department took the time to get to know students as individuals. I felt safe and cared for during my time at the university, and support was widely advertised for those who needed it. You couldn't help but get involved with something outside of your studies and everywhere I went I found supportive and caring individuals. I loved my time spent at Loughborough because I felt as though people at the university cared about my successes and welfare instead of just what I could contribute to University statistics and tables.

Loughborough campus has everything you could ever need as a student and is truly like a home to the majority of its' students. The Students' Union, clubs and societies are like no other amd there's always something to get involved with, whether that's student media, fundraising, volunteering, sports, nights out and much much more!

Loughborough University is a truly top class University - I have been here little over a month and already have fallen in love with the place. There are not many Universities where you know the Vice Chancellor on first name terms!

Thanks for your feedback. We're so glad you liked it here at Loughborough. If you haven't already heard, our our campus was voted #1 for quality of facilities nationally.
Facilities generally good although some lecture theatres and buildings outdated. Clubs and societies good, often seem inaccessible once freshers is over though. Union generally okay despite a few really upsetting and stressful nights e.g refreshers fnd that mared my experience of the union. Difficult to see how the union can justify entry price increases when it is clear they are already allowing for more entry than sensible capacity. Security for the union often seem immature, in experienced and unequipped to deal with situations. I saw two security throwing metal railings with little regard to student safety during returners fnd. Also in the union I have seen a number of occasions where there have been fights or punches thrown where security have done very little to intervene despite having noticed the incidents. Overall the price, lax security and evident extortion of the fact that the union is the largest club in Loughborough has ruined it as a social space.

Best student experience 9/11 years of it being an award. BUCS? 37/37 years! Welfare of students is a priority that is great! The campus is buzzing and is a very sociable accepting place

Loughborough is a fantastic university, great campus and facilities, and a great social atmosphere
Lovely campus, loads of green, nice buildings, access to computers etc. Internet all over campus works well 90% of the time. If you’re in your room an Ethernet cable would help if the internet does go down. Union does try to cater for everyone and hosts a range of events and is also useful in the day time (for food, rag, action etc.) Careers fairs, especially the autumn fair is very good (was the biggest in the UK) chance to get freebies, speak to employers even when you’re in first year! Opportunities for internships, jobs, placements etc. Loads of societies on campus just find what suits you or start your own - maybe try to speak to members before committing to paying for membership.

Quality university, focus heavily on halls and hall participation is pushed. Facilities, both sporting and academic are really good.

Difficult to make a review on the careers service as yet to really use it, but the students union is excellent both day and night.

Like one big family and you are always bumping into people you know. Only issue is the wifi

Union is great for a night out and for day use with everything you need Campus is large but the free bus service means it’s not a problem
You have everything you need within the campus and if not there's student voice within the student union who can help you out.

Amazing university with a wonderful community feeling - my time at Loughborough has been excellent and I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. I have made friends for life and memories I'll never forget. The modules on my course reflected real life work and allowed me to use my knowledge in day to day situations. I am going into the world of work prepared and ready. Thank you Loughborough.

Campus is incredibly loud. People are extremely disrespectful. You cant sleep on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday since they predrink at 10pm with loud music and they come back at 4am and put their music on.

Loughborough is always student centred and investments are aimed to make the academic and social experience for students the best it can be. The Loughborough students union is even ran by students, for the students. You have the best facilities you could find! Currently the best sports uni in the world and has the best student experience in the uk, so where else would you want to be!

My first year at Loughborough has been such an incredible time. I love the energy of the university, and the emphasis on community aspects such as hall spirit which really brings people together, especially freshers. Also, the clubs and societies are brilliant, well organised and maintained. I’ve also loved my course and look forward to studying next year.

Such good fun, the social side is incredible and the lecturers are all really motivating and passionate about their subjects. Just a shame it’s so complicated to split a degree between subjects or change course later in the year.
Overall a really good experience full of really good people.
Lots on offer for everyone with a great atmosphere on campus
I've just finished my first year of university here studying Industrial Design and I can honestly say I have loved it so much. There are so many opportunities and events not only in freshers but all year round. I felt so welcomed and couldn't imagine being anywhere else. I absolutely love it here!

This University allowed me the opportunities to excel and grow as a person. I have loved my time at this University and would highlight recommend it to anyone. The campus environment is safe and creates a real community feel amongst students and staff. In addition, I have felt supported here by lecturers and feel that they want you to succeed.
The worse experience of my life. The staff are vacant, the course is vague and I won’t no wish this on my worse enemy.

Not really anything I can fault about the university apart from the internet. There are so many societies you can join so you will definitely be able to find something you love.

Loughborough honestly has something for everyone. There is so much to do and so many different paths you can take. The only reason Loughborough may not be the place for you is if you want to be in the middle of a city; although both Leicester and Nottingham are close by and easy to get to and the night life in Loughborough is personally more than enough! Joining Loughborough immediately makes you part of something bigger than yourself and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Great all around University. I studied Accounting and Finance so I can only speak for my department which was excellent. The professors and faculty staff were very good and helpful. The fact that the Uni is cooperating with [website link removed] is another bonus as I was able to receive all my accommodation essentials even before arriving at the Uni for the first time.
Studied here for Foundation in Art and design - a great course. However the facilities, slightly isolated location of the Fine Art building and lack of nearby shops wasn't great. Basic facilities were in a separate building and printers hardly ever worked properly. The rest of the campus seemed nice and modern however. Decent societies.

We try our best to offer the best for our students, and so have now invested £3 million into six creative hubs for the Art and Design courses. Loughborough really is your home away from home, the student community is an incredible supportive place that encourages all to contribute to student life. The Loughborough pride is like no other, even when I'm at home I'll see people walking past in Loughborough stash, everyone loves it for a reason!

Loughborough University provides numerous opportunities to become involved in top-class clubs and societies within the student's union. The facilities are of extremely high quality and the overall campus atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
The accommodation is of excellent standard, and offers an option for every budget. The learning facilities are world class and all encounters I've had with lecturers show that they have real world experience in their field. LSU work tirelessly to ensure that every student has the opportunity to flourish, with countless volunteering opportunities, over 110 societies to get involved in as well as a world famous Athletic Union who are yet to be beaten in BUCS. All in all I believe I received a one of a kind experience at Loughborough and wish I could do it all over again!

Just finished my first year at Loughborough and I can't imagine being at university anywhere else! The student atmosphere is absolutely amazing with something suited to everyone - sports, societies. Everyone is so friendly and lovely!

There's a reason Loughborough university was recently voted number 1 in the country for student satisfaction. The facilities are of a high standard, the student union is incredibly well run and offers a range of events throughout the year, as well as representing minority groups (LBGTQ+ community and minority ethnic groups) and we have some of the best sport facilities in the country. The teaching standards are high and it's an absolute pleasure to be apart of the Loughborough family.

Loughborough University has been the best choice I have ever made.
Best Expierience of my life, would highly recommend coming to Loughborough. Every penny is spent on making student expieriences better and it shows in the year I've had, have loved every minute! Town nights out are great, 3X union nights a week are by far the best, cheap drink deals and great sociable people.

The opportunities are endless; the SU offers amazing trips, volunteering opportunities and leadership changes, and of course, The sports facilities are second to none. The location is also very convenient, even if it doesn't look it on the maps!

Loughborough has really given me the best years of my life! I never thought I could be so happy having met so many new people and experiencing so much in only a year. I'm so excited for the years to come and honestly hope they don't pass by quickly. Freshers was amazing, the nights out have been amazing and the facilities are the best in the country! To top it all off, the academic side is continuously improving. Can't praise Loughborough enough!

Loughborough University is truly a fantastic place to study and live. The campus is amazing and has world class facilities at every turn. There is a wonderful community feel to the place that really makes you feel at home, whilst always encouraging you to be the best you can be and try new things. There academics are friendly and helpful with facilities being constantly updated and improved. The new STEMLAB is something to behold. Having visited other unis no where else can compare for the all round experience that Loughborough can provide.

Having the time of my life and will be sad when my final year comes to an end. Looking forward to the future however, especially with the skills gained during my time at Loughborough and the people I've met. My course is fantastic and the University we're be supportive when I decided to change course. The lecturers are happy to help and make time for problem solving with students. It's hard work but having a great group of people and all the support you could ask for makes it a rewarding experience. I've been able to try new things and continue to do what I love. I'm not a very sporty person but have been surprised by how easy it is to get involved with sport here and how much else is on offer if you're not interested in sport at all. Volunteering has become my passion and I have met the most amazing caring people who I can call my Loughborough family. University is what you put into it and at Loughborough you will be high rewarded for getting involved.

Loughborough is something special and nothing can really compare because in all aspects of life, whether you love sports or love Harry Potter, or you are just there for your education, it will create an atmosphere which is simply breathtaking and amazing!
An amazing place to study, live and be a part of. The facilities are World class, the teaching is excellent and the Student life could not be better! The Hall system is second to none and it is the best way in my opinion for students to get the best start to University life

There are many clubs and societies to get involved with, something for everyone's taste. An all round brilliant institution.

I can honestly say Loughborough changed my life. It encouraged me to get involved and make the most of all the opportunities. You learn as much from living and experience the student life at Loughborough as you do from your course. I would 100% recommend students getting involved with societies, they literally have something for everyone!
Being at Loughborough has taught me a lot. From all of the extracurricular activities and volunteering events that the SU take lead on, there are so many opportunities to improve your personal development. In terms of sport, there really is no other university that gives as much access to top class facilities and coaching. This is without a doubt the university for you if you are looking to devlop your competitive skills and get the most out of your sport. Aside from this, the teaching quality is excellent. Studying Social sciences I have had access to some of the best researchers in their fields and they are always available to help with any questions. Top class university

I could not imagine being at any other university over than Loughborough. I've been here for 4 years and I will be leaving not only as a different person, but doing a completely different career. "More Than Your Course" is more than a marketing slogan, it is an ethos that every student embraces whether they realise it or not; the students' union is deservedly the best in the country due to the sheer amount that students can get involved with. I came to Loughborough wanting to go into engineering, but I'm going to leaving wanting to go into media, all because of the opportunities that the union and university has offered me.
