Falkner Eggington is the largest self-catered accommodation on campus that boasts a lively atmosphere with diverse age groups and cultures. The property is situated in the central park with easy access to numerous university buildings.
Residents have everything they could need during their stay, including bike sheds, a laundrette, wired and wireless internet, all-inclusive utilities, kitchen/diner and Endsleigh insurance policy cover. Hello and thank you for your question. Falkner Eggington is a fantastic and affordable accommodation option for both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Loughborough University. Postgraduates will only be placed in a block with other postgraduates and will not be mixed in with undergraduate students. Each flat in Falkner Eggington has its own block, meaning that students outside of your flat can't come in, unless you let them in! So you don't need to worry about freshers occasionally being a little rowdy when you're trying to study.
Hi, thanks for your question. Loughborough University provides a secure connection to the wireless and wired network in halls. Eduroam is the campus wireless network that provides fast and convenient access to University resources and internet using your own laptop, tablet or mobile device. You can find instructions on how to easily connect to the network here. If you want to use an ethernet, HallNet is the wired service in University accommodation. The wired connection provides faster internet speeds and greater reliability and so is highly recommended when using your computer, games console or smart TV. Free Ethernet cables can be collected from the PC Clinic in the library.

Hello and thanks for your question. Unfortunately, Falkner Eggington doesn’t have any en-suite rooms. The university do offer a range of accommodation types with en-suite options, you can compare them easily on our website.
Concerns about a sharing a toilet or washroom before coming to university are understandable as most of us have never had to share bathroom facilities with many people. Once students move into halls, they soon see that everyone has different schedules and habits, meaning that it’s very rare to have to wait to use the facilities. Our communal bathrooms and toilet facilities are also cleaned by our excellent cleaning services team a minimum of three times a week, and we have received many five star reviews on cleanliness from our students.
Don’t just take our word for it though, hear from one of our students, Cheryl, about her experience with shared facilities. "I was nervous about having to share bathrooms before coming to university. What if someone needed to use the toilet at the same time as I did? Will the bathrooms be clean? To my surprise, everyone at university has very different schedules and I never really encountered a time where I needed to shower or use the toilet but had to wait. To my pleasant surprise again, was that the toilets and showers got cleaned very frequently. Our housekeeper was lovely, and I found it convenient not having to clean the bathrooms and buy toilet paper (compared to my friends who lived in en-suites).”

Falk Egg has given me some of the best experiences in my life. Run by students for students, there’s never a dull day. From events such as summer ball to alumni weekend and tour. There’s sport, volunteering and fundraising. Falk egg do it big and they do it well. They do it the best. The staff as well are amazing including the wardens, reception staff, cleaners and maintenance. I’m going to miss living here so much and highly recommend it to any new students.

One of the best years of my life. Such a sociable hall and there's not really any excuse to not get involved. Freshers was 2 weeks instead of 1 which I liked and there's some decent events throughout the year too. A lot on my friends back home can't wait to leave halls but everyone I know in falk egg just wants to come back. It's basically a year long holiday camp.

I absolutely loved Falk Egg! Hands down best hall ever. It made 1st year the best!
I didn't really know what to expect from Falk egg as it was cheaper than the other halls, I thought everything would be cheap and boring. oh boy I was wrong. Its a really nice hall, great for first year students and returners alike :),rooms, bathroom and kitchens are up to a high standard. Hall committee and staff are friendly. Really, there is nothing to complain about, but only thing I would say needs improvement is the wifi, if your room is on the bottom floor, its slow if you are using a phone or wifi for your laptop, but I use Ethernet cable anyway for my pc. Apart from that the social aspect is top notch, and the management of the hall is flawless.
Falkner Eggington hall gave me a brilliant first year, the hall has such a great community and social atmosphere.

Best hall experience I could have possibly wished for! Massive sense of community with super friendly cleaning staff and really close to all my lectures
For the cheapest accommodation at luff you get exactly what you need! Showers are cleaned daily (apart from weekends), kitchen once a week and rooms fortnightly. If you’re in the business school it’s 2 mins away from lectures and not far from the union either. Social wise does put on a lot of social events - house music wasn’t quite for me but does have a good few queue jumps for the union. Offers a lot of IMS activities (inter hall sport), Action (volunteering) and the BBQ on a sunny day is always nice!

Falk egg is best described as it’s own village with that full community and family feel. Nothing is ever too much bother for cleaners, management, or commitee. With a range of students there is a group of people for everyone.

The hall is truly outstanding, and if you choose to stay in Falkner Eggington you will be a part of the most sociable hall Loughborough uni has to offer. It is the cheapest accommodation on campus and is by far the best value for money, and it is located only a 5 minute walk away from the Union and 10 minute walk from the library.

Been living in falk egg for 2 years now and it’s the best Hall.
Other halls asking for £4000 more for their accommodation costs don't come close to providing the incredible environment that Falk Egg does. Everyone else in halls at the university knows we have the most fun, they just hate to admit it.
Amazingly social hall, brilliant freshers week (16 days), friendly atmosphere. Cleaners are really friendly, common room facilities get updated regularly
Falkner Eggington is the best value for money hall. It's extremely modern, wit h good sized bedrooms and bathrooms and is in a central and ideal location
Halls are terrible, the commuter have room keys and will bark at you to join in with the juvenile games, eating raw eggs etc. The halls is just a way to make more money from you being there and the activities are just standing in the small common room with a barrel of watery punch.
100% made the right choice coming to falk egg. It's great value for money and there's so many opportunities to get involved with hall life.
The Hall committee can be quite cliquey, as with the hall social life in general and if you're not part of it, being a part of the hall can feel quite daunting as there is little to involve these types of hall members. The common rooms are split in two and not an adequate size for the largest hall on campus. Being one of the cheapest halls however, the value for money is very good. The layout of the hall is also quite unique, in flat styles rather than long corridors. The hall management system Loughborough University has is very effective and is one that works, with sub-wardens and wardens that care for everyone in the hall, even this disengaged.

I enjoyed its self catering facility and living with various nationals.
Best hall by far. Wasn't my first choice but definitely became the right choice. Very friendly housemates, halls are more like houses as opposed to 'flats' like in most halls. Bathrooms get cleaned everyday which is the advantage of not having an en-suite. Rooms also very modern and of a good size. Lots of storage space, too, and shelving with a reasonable sized desk. Kitchen of a good size with a shelf and a bit per person for both fridge and freezer. Modern kitchens with seating/sofa area which isn't too big but seats all 7 housemates. Not right in the centre of the uni so 10 minutes walk to library, probably a while to the gym too but very close to EHB and other lecture halls, specifically for my course. Also, the least expensive hall, but have had comments from coursemates in other halls saying how they prefer Falk Egg for all the room and furniture is which to decorate to taste

This is my second year living in this hall, and my third year of being affiliated to it. As a recently refurbished hall, you have great new facilities and accommodation but still at a low price! There is a fantastic sense of belonging in this hall, but with individual blocks you still have the option of peace and quiet unlike other halls. Great location and it feels like home and family.

Best hall on campus! Like the fact that everyone is in their own little 'house' with 6/7 others instead of huge blocks of flats. Very communial and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better group of friends to live with. Also very close to EHB, James France etc. Rooms are also very modern, all white furniture so very easy to decorate and make your own.

Considering, how it wasn't my first choice, I was pleasantly surprised when I entered my room for the first time. The room was spacious and upto a decent spec, meanwhile the kichen was again spacious and with good quality appliances. The bathrooms were up to a high standard. The best quality of the hall is the communal aspect and immediately it was warming while embracing everyone, from all walks of life. The 'Falk-Egg' experience is centred around inclusion and the feeling of belonging which makes the daunting task of settling in much easier. One flaw is the poor Internet which is of fault of the university not the hall. Finally, another pleasing aspect is the value for money which exceeds any other hall on campus.

I am a currently in my second year at uni, being a returning Falk Egg-er also! Falk Egg is a diverse place where everyone can be friends with everyone. There is such a strong foundation of people who are willing to support you, such as the Warden, Sub Wardens and Committee. We are a very well-known sociable hall that loves to party! But there is also sober alternatives offered to those who prefer a quiet one. The common room is widely used for social events and this year the Committee have given it some love by redecorating with some simple things, like the Falk Egg emblem on one of the walls. I love Falk Egg and the community you are welcomed in when you are here. Definitely the best hall anyone could ever want to go to! 10/10!

Living in Falkner Eggington has honestly enhanced my experience of university so far. The flats are very modern with spacious rooms and a large kitchen/ dining area for socialising. The halls as a whole is very sociable with the longest freshers at the university. Before freshers events, there would be punch parties in the common room allowing time to meet new people. Even after freshers finished there have still been events organised by the hall. Everyone is incredibly friendly and it took no time at all to settle into Falkner Eggington which made moving to university a lot easier.
The houses are all newly refurbished, so brand new and clean furniture (loads of storage space!), and nice kitchen and bathrooms. Falk Egg is an amazing community, I have great housemates and the staff are always happy to help. The house is cleaned really often which is great. Also, really central location so close to lots of lecture halls - this is the cheapest hall on campus but the best experience, nicest facilities, and self catered so you can bake those cheeky cupcakes at midnight. Oh, and our fire drill was at 7.40am, not like towers which was at 5am!
Falk Egg as it is affectionately known offers the best possible on campus halls experience with not just the atmosphere but also the layout. By having the halls split up into separate blocks with 7 or 8 bedrooms the halls has the feel of a student house with all of your other friends close by

Had an amazing bunch of flatmates! Although the common room wasn't much, the people were all brilliant and the recently refurbished flats were really great
Cheap as anything. The hall committee are always wannabe BNOCs and turn into complete ****s. They do little to nothing in the best interest of the hall and a previous social sec was spending hall funds on her weekly tesco shopping.
Best hall! Everyone mixes with everyone, there are so many people so you make so many friends. Also people are really nice, there are never any problems with the committee as I've heard with some other halls. It's been recently redecorated so its all new and really modern. And the boulevard is great for freshers week. Definitely the best hall for freshers.
Newly refurbished and still the cheapest, great layout of flats and generously sized common room and games room
Falk Egg is by far the best hall, we are tucked away but still in a great central location. With the best sense of community, it's like a family.
Couldn't have asked for much better. So modern and well kept for the cheap price you pay! Lived here in second year as well as fresher year, best decision I made.
The cheapest hall on campus, but considering it's just been refurbished it's really good! Also definitely the best halls for the social side of things
Such an amazing atmosphere in Falk Egg, everyone mixes together without any cliques. Honestly a lovely family feeling, wouldn't choose another hall!
