Friendly, Good Lecturers, Good facilities

Loughborough University's campus and facilities are brilliant in terms of student study spaces, lab availability, and top-class industry software exposure. The Students' Union plays an integral role here at Loughborough, where they provide help to students with problems related to exam mitigation circumstances. You can always refer to them to file a claim regarding any issue. With that, the Union provides, phenomenal study spaces and entertainment sources for students, like night clubs with different themes and artists. I think Careers Services is the best part of Loughborough University. As an international student, I always struggled with drafting CVs and cover letters according to UK industry standards. The Careers Service provides all the important details on the website, with an explanation of the fundamentals of drafting a perfect CV and cover-letter. The internet/Wi-Fi works perfectly well and it is rare to face a problem.

Great atmosphere and connection to the uni, feel very at home. Night life in the area is very lacking though.
Thank you for your review and it's great to hear you feel at home here! :) As Loughborough is a small town, we try to make the most of being a campus university with lots going on at our Students' Union rather than outside of campus, hopefully you've been able enjoy some of the events there.
I enjoy being in Loughborough a lot, its easy to make friends and meet new people if you want but its also easy to keep to yourself and keep your circle small if that's what you want.

Best two years of my life so far. Uni is amazing with the best facilities stuff and students. Made my friends for life and insane memories. Definitely the best student experience in the uk. And we have the fittest boys. End of.

Union used to be good but now all they care about is money not student experience.

Loughborough has been an absolute dream for me. The opportunities that I have had access to are unmached, having started societies and being given opportunities to network with leaders in my area. The support that I have received here has been particularly good here, getting our own personal tutor, hall teams, course teams and SU teams, you never feel lost or alone

Loughborough University, where do I start. I have only been here for a year, and I’ve already got so much to say. My very first open day I was engulfed in the sense of community as the Loughborough university students welcomed me. There is not a greater Uni to go than the one where their own students are engaging and enjoying life and now, I am one. As an aspiring scientist, I fell in love with the STEM labs building, with such advanced equipment at hand. There are many facilities here from study spaces, all the way to a swimming pool. Though sport is the heart of Loughborough university, I hated sport and quickly realized that it wasn’t so daunting as I began to enjoy the games hosted and joined AU kickboxing. Though the kitchen space in halls wasn’t enough, I made the most of cooking with my best friend. The Wi-Fi around campus was standard and if we had any issues, IT services were available. Overall, it’s a beautiful campus to be in and provides so much support in so many areas.

Loughborough offers an outstanding education but also a great personal and social life too. There is a great sense of pride and community at Loughborough with an opportunity to get involved in something you are passionate about but if we don't have your niche you can set up your own society or sports club! Loughborough also has more than just the standard sport clubs and societies often at most universities, check the websites to see more from the CVA through to the careers network. If you are concerned about the location as we are not a city, do not worry. There is a lot to do and we are only a stone throw from Leicester, Nottingham or Derby and just an hour or two from London.

The university if a sports university with MANY facilities. Students that dont do sports get to enjoy many more parties and fun adventures.
It's great to hear you've enjoyed our sports facilities. We aim to have something for everyone who wants to try sports - whether they're just looking for recreational sport or are competitive. I'm glad you've noticed that it's not all sports too! We're known for sport, but with over 100 societies on offer there's plenty of other things to do here.
Just an overall great experience. Really fun events and the teacjing quality has been great. The course support has been great too.

Good experience and great value for money

The university itself has a really nice campus with great academic and sports facilities. In academic terms the university fluctuates quite a bit. Some of my lecturers are really good whilst some are really poor. The work load is certainly higher than I expected which is a positive because it shows the university does seek to push you. Social life here honestly is not that great. Especially for students who are from south London like me. The town is very deprived with barely anything to do. The food spots are really good though in all fairness.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a disappointing experience with some lecturers, I'd recommend you raise this in your feedback or speak to your course lead or department about it if you're comfortable doing so. If you haven't already, I'd recommend taking a look at the societies we have on offer here to improve your social experience here at Loughborough. If you're missing the city, we're also a short train ride from Nottingham - I understand that a campus university isn't for everyone but hopefully this can help you to enjoy your time here more.

Lot of things to do if you are a sports enthusiast with lot of volunteering opportunities on campus
The Students Union is nearly impossible to buy tickets for on nights out. The remodelling of the union has meant that there's such a decrease in capacity that tickets for regular nights out sell out within a couple of minutes. The system is badly designed and means that finalists cannot buy tickets for their final nights out. Tickets are not reserved while they are in the checkout basket so you lose your tickets while trying to buy them. The amount of luck you need to get a ticket is something you would expect from a concert, not a normal night at a union. People resell tickets at extortionate prices, and are often invalid because of the policy on ticket buying. The university page is overrun with scammers selling fake tickets. It's a farce honestly.

Beautiful campus especially during summer, great bus service, just not much to do in the area or town and there is a very bad "lad culture" as there are so many sports boys. Get harassed every night out so had to stop going to the union all together as firefly and revs have better staff and 0 tolerance policy and its easier to stop people when there isn't a sea of people to control as they let wayyy to many people into the union.

Loughborough University is honestly unique in its own right. Once you step foot on campus you understand what a great sense of community there is - that’s the main thing about the Loughborough experience. The campus is a great place to work, whilst a lot of the buildings are admittedly quite drab, a lot of money has been spent on developing the inside - the facilities for learning are good. Sport is a key selling point for L’boro, even if you’re not that into sport, there are always opportunities to get involved, and you can book one of the many pitches/courts/rooms available to play with friends in your own time. Some of the student halls on campus are (very) dated and the standard/aesthetic of halls, especially those built earlier on, is quite poor… however this is not a deal breaker - what makes your hall experience is the people, and I guarantee you will overlook any mundane furniture when you meet your flatmates.

Campus is great but the union really lets it down. Getting rid of a popular room in the union has made capacity smaller which wouldn't be a major issue if there were more clubs. The union really let's down the uni
