Very good facilities, the WiFi connection was very good. The Halls wasn't on campus which would have helped, but nevertheless it was only a 20 minute walk to and from campus. I would recommend the campus halls first, due to being situated on campus, but if you are unable to get on campus halls, these halls are great.
As a postgraduate student who has previously lived in several student accommodations, living in liberty house has probably been the worst. The walls are very thin and virtually any sound can be heard coming from next door or from the residents living above you. Such issues have lead to several arguments between residents living above and below each other. The management are poorly trained to deal with such issues and have often told residents to walk more carefully so as to not generate the noise. As a postgraduate student who had important deadlines walking carefully was the last thing I wanted to think about when coming home after a long day of work at Uni. The staff are very poorly trained with dealing with flatmates suffering from mental health issues (for example mental breakdowns). I was unlucky enough to experience this when my neighbour who was very unwell as a result of exam stress ended up shouting and acting strangely in the student common rooms.
Excellent student accommodation for those studying at the heath campus, less than 10 minute walk to the UHW. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Internet is fast, free printing available at the reception. Very clean and well maintained. The staff organise events on special holidays or days of the year. Only fault is there is not enough washing machines or dryers. Definitely recommend!
na as i skipped this out. Standard halls
Stayed here for a hospital placement (one good thing, it is close to UHW, but not to the uni or town) - honestly the worst accommodation I’ve experienced. Noisy, dirty and unbearably hot as the windows don’t open. Room seemed nice but is so dark I’ve had to buy another light. Entrance hall and lift full of sick and rubbish on several occasions over a few weeks. Management allow access to room without even attempting to contact you. Internet so poor I’m unable to work in my room or watch tv. Luckily I’m not paying as I’m on a placement, but having stayed in other Cardiff uni halls and talking to people who have been here all year, I would seriously recommend looking elsewhere!
the curtains need an update, they are disgusting.. only fault
Internet always down, management seem not to care or want to maintain the flats and are very agruementative toward residents. But the security staff are lovely and very responsive and in my opinion the best staff here
Internet is down majority of the time, management doesn't seem to want fix anything and are very agruementative toward residents, but security are lovely and friendly.
Great location for Heath Campus but that's it. This place is too far from the city centre for party animals and soundproofing is non-existent so no good for anyone who needs peace and quiet to study or sleep. To top it off it's expensive and once they have your money the staff aren't interested in dealing with complaints or issues. The kitchen/lounge area provided per flat is small and nothing is provided (no kettle, toaster, TV or any pots or pans) and our cooker/oven was disgusting when we took over the 'flat', as were the walls and floors. Steer clear.
Unfortunately I am not located at the Heath Campus, but if I were it would be the most perfect accommodation as I can see the hospital from my room and is a 5 minute walk. The bedrooms are a very decent size as is the bathroom, although the shower could be a little bigger. Reception are lovely and it has an all round homely feel.
Absolutely brilliant staff had a brilliant first year here perfect for health care students
If you're not on the road side it's fine, but the road is so loud it wakes people up and they can't get to sleep
Amazing accommodation but too quiet for freshers
Great for anyone based at UWLs Reading Campus, 20 minute walk from Uni & a great student night life, Halls weren't strick on visitors & didn't constantly bother you. Rooms good size aswell with en suite
In the Liberty House, its environment is quite. However, there is no any food store
