Found my perfect student home after a disastrous first year in awful uni halls, to say Market House is an incredible improvement from Unite Students is an understatement. Super modern, clean, efficient and amazing staff Ollie and Lisa to top it off!

Best experience so far! The help from the tutors, the library services and the personal tutors is amazing, everyone is quick to help and assist you with essays, language problems (since I'm an international student it was really important) and maths. There's a special aid in the Library where you can get free Math's aid and you can solve problems with a professional. I wouldn't have finished my first year with a 1st class if it wasn't for all the help of the uni facilities and my wonderful tutors. The student Union could have been more active though, with more activities for internationals or in general (shows, quizzes etc ). Definitely join a bunch of societies till you find your fav! I recommend the Comedy Society, everyone is really friendly and you'll get tons of funny experiences and laughs. Τhe nightlife is kind of boring after some point cause there are limited options of clubs (small city problems xd) but you can find your way around house parties and socials.
This university brushes aside student problems at placement host institutions eg harassment of a sexual nature and sweeps problematic and serious issues under the carpet to keep up a lovely publicity front that everything is going on fine .IT IS NOT. Students with unpleasant experiences at their host institutions DO NOT Forget their experiences and this university did nothing except to say sorry for unforeseen circumstances that have befallen on an unfortunate international student .The University can Do MORE to protect female interns at host institutions and future interns. Saying just sorry does not suffice to placate or relieve the frustration , disappointment and anger suffered by an individual . This university needs to set up a help centre and not just refer interns to a website for help should things go wrong. This is really disappointing

The university is beautiful with loads of events with different courses to attend and the city is loads to offer.

3-4 stars for campus facilities , ZERO star rating for Museum placement module. For students selecting Art Galleries and Museum course :- The department's ignorance on workplace hazards such as sexual harassment in the real Art world increases the risk for female interns . Failure on the university's part to adequately prepare or educate interns result in their safety being compromised. The university needs to ensure a safe academic environment for all students and acknowledge accountability and responsibility if things should go wrong at the host placement institution. Student experiences matter a lot towards a university's reputation and their unpleasant experiences should not be ignored. To think the university values the Art institution partnership more than a student's welfare , unfortunate experience and grievance plea is immensely disappointing even to the extent of appalling. The university needs to address this wake up call to provide more security to interns.

To All Female Fine Arts and Museum internship students reading this review: The course modules and campus facilities are good and wifi connection is excellent however be aware of host institutions that are listed on placement internships for your course module . Sexual Harassment is very prevalent in the Art Institutions in the UK and interns are especially vulnerable to workplace misconduct . Academic institutions in the UK are very slow to address this challenging menace and Newcastle University is no exception. Their risk assessment forms failed to incorporate measures for interns to look into this matter seriously. The so called 'Change the workplace ' culture project that was recently implemented also failed in its outreach attempts to cover all departments . International students are particularly vulnerable as we are not familiar with the UK judicial system and upon further inquiry with legal firms in the UK, and interns not on the employment Act cannot seek compensation.

Newcastle is a wonderful uni situated in the heart of one of the best UK city's. From crazy night life to relaxing parks, trips to the beach or a casual walk along quayside, Newcastle has it all.

Such a lovely university, the campus is amazing featuring works of art from various artists. The university itself seems to have a focus upon giving back to the city, which is great, especially as the city does so much for students. Only issue is the pricing of wristbands etc. for Freshers
Bloody brilliant, I’ve loved every second of being here!
The medical school cares mostly about itself, has felt like there's not been a great support for the students. Usually, it has seemed when one of my peers has been in bother, the medical school have been one for chastising, not for supporting. It's been quite disappointing from that front. The library services are good, shame the decor is a bit plastic. Beautiful main bit of the campus, some of the satellite facilities are a bit ugly. Students' union feels more run for profit than run for students. The services available there, especially printing, are there for the exploitation, not benefit, of the students.
Feels like home. I've had a wonderful experience with Newcastle University so far, through my degree, societies and the city - there's no place I'd rather be.
Fantastic Computer Science facilities. The Urban Science Building was finished in 2018, so it's a very well kept learning environment. Internet for Park View is ridiculously good, with both upload and download speeds. Cannot speak for other accommodations. Great nightlife and filled with students.
Best looking campus in the country, with everything you need. A renowed university lives up to its name and works well with the city and it is the best place to be a student as well.
Very nice campus right next to the city centre which is very convenient especially for nights out. Staff is always willing to help and there is something for everyone to try.
The university makes an effort to make you seem at home, the Student’s Union, is a lovely space in which you can relax and study as much as you wish. The 24 hour study rooms and library are very helpful during exam and essay season.
Everything about the uni is great
Nearly finished my first year and I have loved every second! Campus is amazing, city life is amazing and most of all there is so much help already regarding getting experience on your CV for your future career even if you don’t know what it is! Wouldn’t have gone anywhere else!

for some reason our eduroam doesnt work at other unis? the students union isnt great- not many people actually go and spend time there. still a lovely uni tho and glad im here

Students Union was good for food and that's about it, the facilities were poor compared to other universities I have visited and the people in charge of running the union were not professional when it came to resolving issues especially with a society I was involved with where they defending students for sending threatening emails to our committee just because the emails were defending someone who had been insulting at one of our events by someone we had no control over.
You could not get a better package anywhere else! Career, Sport, Nightlife and amazing people - it’s all right there!

Amaaazing, really can't imagine going anywhere else. The people are lovely, so many chances to socialise and a lot of funding for societies so a variety of activities available. Loads of study space such as Philip Robinson Library, Marjorie Robinson library rooms, Law Library, Med Library, Old Library building etc. and with lots of study rooms across campus. Sometimes the wifi messes up for a few hours a couple of days a year but that really is the only downside.
Overall Newcastle Uni is a great place with a lot going on. It is central to the city centre and is a lovely campus to look at. The SU has places to eat and grab a drink, it is a really chilled out environment and excellent for meeting for study groups etc.
Actual star rating: 1/5 - Lots of sex (and cheating) and nightlife goes on here. - My course - biochemistry - was boring as hell. Yes, every single lecturer was boring. About 20% of the class pays attention. Lots skip lectures. Only one lecturer was boring but explained things well. It's just not worth it. I hated my time here. The course is a load of crap for 22k pounds. Jesus, if one hour of self study did more for me than the 5 hours of sitting through lectures, then I really have to ask myself what the **** I'm doing here. All I'm doing is seeing people get drunk literally every day, whilst I spend the same amount as the lectures I just attended, rewatching them on recaps to understand better, at half speed because the goddamn mic is so awful and the lecturer doesn't know how to separate speaking to a colleague and a student. - Also it's frustratingly harder to find people who don't just want to get drunk and s******** everyday (not joking people party everyday here).
Fun and not overcrowded place to study. Great lecturers. The university gives great opportunities for further research as well.
The Wi-fi occasionally disconnects, and despite the great quality of societies I think freshers fair and other big events should be more greatly advertised.

Solid university with good social support
While the campus facilities and Wi-Fi are fairly ideal, especially the libraries, the social aspects of the university and its Student Union - much like with many universities - are overtly political, in many cases, with some non-political societies excluding members who don't agree with their views. This politicism has infected the Student Advice Centre, who will often respond to problems (for example, in housing) in a brash and aggressive - rather than reconciliatory - way; placing student and landlord in the roles of proletariat and bourgeoisie respectively, and recommending that students take legal action to confront perceived injustices. The Careers Service claims to be accessible, but reality often differs, as students are required to be very specific as to exactly what service they need. Otherwise, they get recommended to simply attend a bunch of workshops.
Love it. Good social life , cheap drink and food and most places are within walking distance.

Fantastic city to live and study in
The SU is very good - it's ran by students so most of the things you want to do, you can do it. They have a good bar and Domino's and a Subway on campus which is useful, but I haven't used a lot of the services available so I can't comment.
Great uni experience so far in the best city in the UK
Great campus and SU but awful IT service desk for managing the internet. Internet provider is Janus and Janus is notorious for managing to break things or be on the receiving end of a DDoS attack.
Pretty much flawless all around! Only main issue is the internet. Although there is free internet all around the campus, their VPN blocks out the use of Steam and my Wii U and 3DS cannot connect to it either. Otherwise, I cannot complain.

The gyms not very big at the sports centre and a silver membership seems to be pretty pointless
the overall campus experience is great. Such pretty building with great facilities, starbucks , dominoes and Santander in the union is a massive perk.
So happy with my time at newcastle. Great city, love the campus, so much going on. Would recommend to anyone.
Newcastle is an aight university
Very supportive university, that tries to help you advance your career in every way. We get a lot of career advice and are taught some career skills as part of our course (Psychology). They have some really interesting societies here like Mind the Gap where mental health issues (in the political sense etc.) are discussed. Internet sometimes stops working on my phone but only for a minute or two when I'm walking around campus, not at home. The SU has a little shop with some food and stationary and other things you could need as well as Newcastle University jumpers and other Newcastle clothes. They have a Throwback party every Saturday at the SU and I think other stuff as well.

Everyone is friendly - the student union is always looking for ways to accommodate students whether that's for studying, hanging out during the day or nights out. Awesome city, plenty of shops and stuff to do for everyone.
Having the time of my life, I could not think of a place I'd rather spend my university years. Loving my course, the staff are great and really helpful, There is a society for just about anything and the student services are fantastic. On top of that, the social side of things are great, the union is always fun and has a great atmosphere, plus the society socials take place in one of the best nightlife cities in the UK.
Walking through campus with a nice hot coffee is the best thing on any autumn day. It's so beautiful! Especially at sunset. If you're round at sunset, take a look at the King George VI building.
A lot of student support, a huge range of societies and clubs and right in the center of town for all your clubbing and shopping needs!
