This place is without a doubt the worst accommodation that I have ever lived in. It has little to no reviews on the internet about it possibly because of how obscure it is and that less people opt to live here. As someone who has had experience living in this place, I don’t mind taking it upon myself to give a review of Vernon Place to other students. First of all, the walls are extremely thin in this house to the point where you can hear all sorts of things going on in and around the building i.e. people having conversations, people having intimate times with their partner, doors being slammed, taps being run, loud footsteps, television being watched etc. The mattresses are also very cheap and you could hear every creak around the house as either you or other students are trying to sleep. If you are living on the ground floor, the constant slamming of the main door and people’s footsteps going up and down the stairs will end up driving you crazy.

My time at Vernon Place is not one I can say I will look back on fondly. It can be an isolating place to live due to a lack of social spaces, only a small living area to socialise in. Problems arise in the building on a regular basis. For example, door and window handles falling off or breaking, leaks, mold festering on the walls and radiators breaking. The walls are very thin. Every creak and footstep can be heard as well as conversations word for word. Sleep is not something that will come easy here, particularly if you are on a lower floor. The location is the one good thing about this accommodation. The wifi serves its purpose. Overall, I'm not sure the pros outweigh the cons.
