I enjoyed my year at the University of st Andrews very much. The historic and beautiful town itself is a great place to live and study, and the uni has shown me real concern for its students.
It’s a great university with a nice and friendly community.
Great university to spend four years with. The teaching staff are amazing and professional. The clubs are fun, and the Union cafe is great!
soooooo good place and university, love here sooooo mcuh
A wonderful university experience.
University is overall very good, although facilities can vary depending on department of study
Absolutely beautiful coastal town! Incredible and prestigious place to study where the academic staff care greatly and encourage students to reach their fullest potential. A special place.
Nice town with a good community.
The University has the most helpful faculty and there is always help available whenever you need it for anything.
Where tradition and history meet quality and glamour. St Andrews is a fine institution.
Great university with superb faculty.
I am currently transferring universities because the university has been very alienating. My experience hasn’t been the best but I know a lot of people who have had an amazing time
Very very very very niceeeeeeeeee
The Uni is amazing. I’m glad I came here!
The University is strong for my field, with a lot of world leading researchers. The library facilities are very good, despite being a small town there is plenty to do in terms of cafes, restaurants, shops (books, craft, fresh food etc), natural beauty (several beaches, nice architecture, botanic garden etc).
Very good university with nice amenities and workers
A great place for studying, beautiful
Great university with nice learning atmosphere
Fantastic place to stay and study
staffs are friendly and kind to students.
Good university, good student experience, though hard to find accommodations
Love it so good very cool and amazing

A beautiful place to live and study, making it easy to build a community of friends from the very first days. The academics are exceptional and many adventures are launched every day.
Good university! Scotland is nice!
Universities of St. Andrews offers students opportunities to learn and develop their academic skills in a wide range of subjects not only focusing your major. You can take courses in different majors during the university, and decide whether to change majors according to your own situation after the semester.(for undergraduates)
I am a undergraduate student and my experience is very good in general
The campus has plenty of facilities and events that regualrly happen throughout the year. Rooms are rented out by clubs and societies for different things, and rooms can also be rented by individual groups even if not in a society. Overall, plenty of facilities, plenty of events to be invested in and plenty of people to speak to in terms of carrers if you are uncertain!
Campus is very picturesque and lovely to be at.
The ones I rated 3 is because I haven’t used them nothing personal
Overall rewarding student experience to learn a lot, learn with severe stress but nevertheless in a helpful environment with kind teaching staff and caring student services
I love St Andrews! I’m an American student and overall am very pleased with my experience here.
A great university with outgoing people and a variety of excellent resources.
Nice, some buildings are a bit old but overall everything is great. Staff and lecturers are lovely, and friends too!
It's ancient, accommodation is a nightmare to secure but the beaches are great
I have really enjoyed my time here but there’s definitely areas that could be improved
It’s in a tiny town, but have really lovely view, especially from the main library. I love thé teachers, being so nice
Great somewhat small university, very friendly place.
Great experience but affected by the pandemic why has not been handled the best way
The university will get me to where I want to be come the end of my course
Great historical background, helpful staff and awesome student societies.
The university is a great space to open yourself up to a range of different subjects areas and experiences. There is always support if needed.
Beautiful old campus (at least in the centre of town) with nice study spaces, including in unused university classrooms. Friendly and helpful staff and general community. Definitely expensive and the university needs to respond to the cost of living crisis and it’s homelessness crisis better.
Very friendly environment and there’s always new opportunities open to students with the vast amount of societies and networking events.
Pure good uni, solid, decent, poggers. Lecturers are lengers, classic uni W. Not going here = common L.
St Andrews is for rich people and inaccessible to people who are not from well off households
St andrews is an incredible place to study, the views are amazing and the community is close-knit and very personal
I love the people and the courses here!
love it here. best work life balance and student experience
I really like the University of St Andrews. The staff are really helpful and experts in their field, and this was recently reflected in being named the top university in the UK.
Amazing uni, lovely people. Some issues with the library closing all the time, even in exam season, but it’s the most beautiful little town & id recommend it to everyone
Absolutely amazing, 10/10 in every way
Everything is just a bit above average, definitely not top 3 in the UK level
An outstanding university with dedicated staff and passionate students; a vibrant, enthusastic, and compassionate campus, surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty and charisma.
A great campus with such friendly people around.
Great uni but don’t go to ABH because it’s the worst. Everything else is 10/10
It took me a while to get used to the style of teaching and assessments at St Andrews but once you have that you’re able to excel at this university. I admit, it isn’t for everyone. My experience in first year was that you have to sign up to two different subjects outwith your actual degree subject. For those wanting to completely specialise this could be challenging. In terms of the social side, the uni has many diverse clubs and societies meaning there’s something for everyone and I’d recommend joining as many as possible in first year if not just to meet new people! The nightlife is pretty niche too but I loved it. The Union is great, it has a club attached for those who like that vibe or else there are other pubs/ bars around town. The aforementioned clubs and societies also put on events of their own throughout the year which are a fab time.
St Andrews is an incredible university in a very small, very picturesque town. If you are wanting a really down to earth, typical university experience I probably wouldn't recommend St Andrews, because the time you spend there will be nothing like any other university. There are no giant clubs, but the house parties and midnight dips in the north sea are amazing. You will meet some of the most insanely posh and peculiar people you have ever seen, with most of them probably becoming your closest friends. And the staff, in my experience, were just outstanding and so eager to see their students achieve the best results they could. I loved my time there, but I can guarantee you that it will be a unique experience.
I came here on a whim to do a panic Masters and, basically, it was the best decision I've ever made.
University of St Andrews is beautiful, it has the look and feel of being ancient even though though it has some newer buildings. It's situated in a small enchanting village bearing the same name and is right by the sea side. It is a tourist resort so it's like you are on holiday everyday.
lovely university, small but easy to meet people and get involved in events
Despite the limitations of Covid, the university has maintained their standard of education and social aspects of uni life.
A fantastic university, with wonderful lecturers who go above and beyond to teach you very interesting content. Located right by the beach, the university is one of (if not the) must beautiful university in the UK.
Have unfortunately been here during the pandemic and lockdown but it is the most beautiful campus and friendly people.
Love St. Andrews uni, really great place to be
Despite the covid times, the University of St Andrews was always helpful and well-organized. The staff is attentive to the students' well being and tries to do its best in such a difficult period.
Even though I was here during the Pandemic I still got to know so many people, and I really feel that the University did everything it could to help students during this difficult time. I am very happy that I decided to stay in St Ansrews and get to know the community and other students
Very good university to go too
Location of the uni is absolutely ideal for wonderful views, the ‘bubble’ has a great sense of community
The University overall is amazing, with opportunities and support provided to those who seek it. Amazing range of diverse students and fantastic career prospects
Campus facilities are great, although due to covid this year we haven’t been able to utilise all the available amenities.
It's a pity that I came to study abroad during the epidemic period, and I couldn't attend offline classes. But I still like St Andrews University. The teachers, staff and students are very friendly. The residents of the town where the university is located are also very friendly.
University is good, facilities available
the campus is beautiful and well maintained
Great university, very much enjoyed my time here
Beautiful university with excellent clubs and societies. The student experience and teaching quality is excellent. Wouldn’t recommend to someone looking for a busy, crowded city experience but for a well-rounded student experience it’s definitely the place to be.
University of St Andrews : currently with the coronavirus there is not a lot going on and we need more study spots open in town.
Despite the pandemic the Uni has been very accommodating, and I feel like the experience and connections i have gained have been invaluable
The university is incredible, the buildings are wonderful. A lot of spaces are open to study (some of them 24h/24, 7 days/7). The professors are incredible, the classes are fascinating, and they always push you to do your best. They are always present when you need them, and everything is just perfect. There are also lots of events there and societies which allow you to know a lot of people!
A good university that needs a better Union.
Fantastic range of equipment for science students. Very in depth learning
Love St Andrews - fab uni, great lecturers, just wish accommodation was cheaper
As an exchange student from Hong Kong in St. Andrews, I have to say the quality of teaching in classes are very high., Nonetheless, because of student compositions that are predominantly English / Europeans , Eurocentric perspectives in classroom dynamics are quite prominent. Often times if you're from anywhere in Asia and you're the Asian in the class it makes you feel a bit inept at explaining / exploring / broaching up cultural discourses.that you find very real but others might find very vague / abstract / unfamiliar. They're also very inflexible when it comes to course load and class quota, with strange prioritization and inaccessible course fill data. No matter how early you enroll yourself in their course you'll be informed that it is full on the day you arrive and that's it, you'll have to go along with something else of a lower priority. I find this quite frustrating and it definitely lowers my impression of the university's committment to improving student experience.
I am currently a postgraduate student at St Andrew's. As far as facilities go st Andrews is pretty good, however, my experience this far academically speaking is the worst I have ever seen. lecturers have no clear standards as to what coursework should be or contain and give random advice to students. No clear instruction or mark schemes were ever provided and feedback was pretty vague. Some scheduling errors between modules appeared due to miscommunication between coordinators and instead of giving students a chance to attend the modules chosen, they basically forced us to forfeit our choice and take whatever is left no matter how meaningful or useful it will be in the career path we decided to follow. How is it that they can't communicate with each other properly and students are left to pay the price.
The university is fantastic. Great reputation, great social life.
Love this place, would recommend to all
My experience at St Andrews has been very disappointing. I feel the university does not invest much effort into genuinely providing students with an education, but rather simply likes to protect and project their long-established reputation of prestige through whatever means necessary. Sometimes that means handing the students the exam paper as a 'mock' before the exam to maximize pass rates, or providing 'free' alcohol using money from student housing payments to increase student satisfaction scores. Ultimately, St Andrews offers a "name-brand" degree that can be obtained through minimal class attendance and effort. There is no 'continuous' learning. There is no need for understanding. There is nowhere to ask questions. There is no taking feedback and using it to improve. There are simply exams that you memorize information for, however, the lack of emphasis on ensuring students understand the exam material means that what you learn has very little applicability in the real world.
The university is set in a stunning location. Careers service disappointing though capod did offer professional skills training. Aacademic faculties excellent. Lecturers were very approachable.
Really, there is nothing you can criticise St Andrews for. International reputation, top quality research and teaching and a wonderful environment. Standards are exceptionally high and, if you don't work, you fail or get kicked out, so you work and end up with a degree with real value. I have been to 2 other universities after St Andrews (both ranked in the top 10 nationally) and neither compares well to it. unhesitatingly recommended.
Perfect so far, the degree flexibility allows you to really investigate what career path you want!
There's loads of academic traditions in St Andrews that have lasted hundreds of years and are so much fun... Foam fights during Raisin ✅ Running into the North Sea to cleanse yourself of sin ✅ Avoid Cursed Spot at all times ✅ Never a dull moment! People here are super friendly
Fantastic academic university in the a beautiful location. Lots of opportunities to pursue the interests that you love whilst also having a lot of fun.
Strong academic ranking with amazing architecture and amazing student support
Finished my first year here studying medicine and genuinely couldn't fault it. Would recommend to anyone who is considering application.
Great uni. Small town so You're always bumping into friends (and professors of who's class you skipped). If your into pubbing instead of clubbing this is the uni for you! The cold winters also makes you work more.
Nice close knit community! Really fun
