Where is Sheffield Hallam University Located?
Sheffield Hallam University is in South Yorkshire, which is right in the centre of the UK. Leeds and Manchester are its neighbouring cities, with London only a two-hour train journey away.
City Campus is just a few minutes' walk from Sheffield train station, and is surrounded by shops, cafés, and pubs. Just a 25-minute walk away is Collegiate Campus, which mixes some of Sheffield's best bars, markets, and restaurants with stunning parks for studying in the sunshine.

If it's the Robotics Masters course that you're considering at Sheffield Hallam, you'll have the opportunity to benefit from the support of your supervisory team, consisting of a Director of Studies and a second supervisor who has specific interest in your chosen subject area. Also, in addition to carrying out your work independently, you'll recieve research training, Linux and ROS training and you can also opt to undertake training in Matlab, Open GL, InDesign, Illustration and After Effects. Very good accommodation, had a great experience
Good facilities however lecturers often don’t speak perfect English and also are sometimes still learning how to teach so often read from a presentation which isn’t very engaging. But the campus and what the university offer is good.
Great University, their tuition through practical methods and industry links is amazing.
Societies there haven't been too many that have interested me.
I really enjoy being here its made me have no regrets in choosing this as my university.

Firstly, I am sorry that the WiFi has not been working as well as it should be for you. The WiFi should be working well for all students in all buildings, but if you are really struggling you can contact the IT team who will help you with this.
So far the experience of SHU has been fantastic. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the environment at the uni is very welcoming as a whole.

I like the location and it is great value for money. I would encourage students to live here as I’ve gained a lot of fun experiences while living here and I’ve made lots of new friends.

I like the uni and the location of it and the courses are very good

We love that both of our campuses are in such a great location and are so close to the city centre. Our city campus is located right in the centre of town, near the train and bus station s which is great for our students that commute! Our collegiate campus is located just off Ecclesall Road which is a lively student area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops! Lots of our students choose to live there in their second and third years too which makes it a great area. We have lots of great facilities for our students too – we have two 24-hour libraries as well as computers and laptops to rent and just great general study and social spaces. We will have even more when our new buildings open too which is really exciting! Our tutors work so hard too and are constantly reviewing the courses to ensure content is accurate and relevant! WiFi is good throughout buildings

We pride ourselves on our lovely buildings and how accessible they are for students, which includes ensuring the WiFi is good for everyone! It is especially great in all of our new buildings and we have so many great study spots for our students too. If anyone is ever having any technical issues, our IT support team are always there to help you and are constantly monitering things like WiFi to ensure it is good for our students! Love the university and social aspects

Our tutors are great and they pride themselves on ensuring that everyone has the best experience they can here at Hallam. They are always happy to help, and we were also recently awarded ‘TEF gold’ for our teaching standards which was a great achievement. Our SU works hard too making sure there are lots of great events for our students! We have been to other cities, to theme parks, ice hockey matches and so much more! All the staff are lovely and my seminar tutors are great. The help desk is always handy. As far as I’m aware the students union is being moved somewhere else so there isn’t much there right now but I haven’t actually been told anything by the uni

Great uni great course great city!

Campus is quiet nice and really easy to get to the town centre and to the other buildings

We love both of our campuses and how close they are to the city centre. Our City campus is located right in the centre of town, just next to the train and bus station which is very handy! Our Collegiate campus is just off Ecclesall Road which is a lively student area full of bars, shops restaurants! It’s also only a 20 minute walk into the middle of town so still very close by! We have lots of lovely buildings too and we are so excited that our new buildings are now open for all of our students to enjoy! Most is good, toilets need to be cleaned more frequently

We have created a lovely community here and it is always lovely to hear from our students. I’m sorry that you have found some of our toilets to be messy at times. Our staff work so hard to stay on top of everything like this, but if you have noticed that they are particularly bad in certain buildings or floors, please do let us know so that we can look into this and sort this out for you. Sheffield Hallam university is great place to study. Lecturers are very friendly and open to help with any inquiries students may have. There is also Hallam help that helps with general questions that one may have. There’s a great library both online and in campuses that allow for great student learning experiences. They offer events that allow to progress in academics and many more.

Staff are lovely, the buildings are fairly easy to locate, just had some new buildings on campus for this year such as Langsett which is stunning! All the students i’ve spoken to are friendly and polite.

The WiFi is not the greatest but that’s about it.

Our wifi should be strong enough for all students and staff to be on it and for it to work, so if you are struggling with this it may be a good idea to go to Hallam Help or speak to IT as they should be able to help you with this so that you can access it as you should be able to. There is a lot of societies but none that i personally like.

I'm in my final year of UNI now. Every year has been amazing and I have learnt so much. I have especially learnt a lot about the industry I will hopefully be getting into! Theres so many places to go to study when I have freetime and also plenty of events to attend! Overall love it here and would do it all again!

Good University, especially with the new buildings like Redmires it is a lot more homey and motivating to revise with the new study areas. The city campus has a great location with its vicinity to the city centre and places like the Cambridge street collective. And the collegiate campus is located in a nice green area not too far from the centre

I definitely recommend SHU to anyone who wants to come to university wether it’s as far or as little away from home it’s a good experience and you can meet new people, join different societies and clubs if you wanted too, and have a totally unreal experience! With ups and down too it but that’s uni life.
