Flats on interior a bit dark but not too bad. Decent bedroom size with en-suite is bonus. Location is okay not far too from uni (city campus) 15 mins. Near kelham island which is an incoming place with lots of cool puns/bars/restaurants/food and drink markets etc however can be expensive Small gym is nice but basic. Have to pay for washing but that’s the norm. Small Tesco is downstairs which is useful. Shirt drive form a big Tesco.
was looking for a place to stay and found this place and thought it was affordable. I can not describe how unprofessional the management time are. they are awful. I am of Jamaican decent, which has never been a problem before but in this place I would get accused of smoking weed and if I asked for help they would look the other way. for example, I was asked to move into another room because they needed a empty flat. told they would help me with moving and give me trolleys, I agreed. on the day i woke up to cleaners in the flat. asked for help and trolley at reception and this horrible impolite lady told me that they haven't got anyone to help and no trolleys. i sat outside thinking how long its going to take me to move all my stuff with one suitcase. a few moments later that same lady was carrying this girls suitcase and the girl was pushing two empty trolleys to the girls room. when she saw me, she quickly looked down and walked faster. the team treated me like actual crap.
Worst place ever, dont put it as an option, looks nice been next to a river but its just not, 20 minutes walk away, the space is just so poor and they dont care about anything, youll also probably have bugs in your room which they will do nothing about...half the things in the flat wont work and everyone does drugs
Central Quay honestly outdid my expectations, the main thing I see people complain about is the walk to uni (it’s only 10 mins is really not that bad). The area of CQ is perfect it’s located in Kelham Island which is a great area of Sheffield with lots going in with events such as the Pedlers night market along with many nice local pubs. The staff are super friendly and very helpful as well as them organising fun thing to do such as a quiz with prizes, fifa competitions, pool competitions and BBQs. I’m comparison to other accommodations the value for money is so good especially considering you get your own bathroom and the proximity to a Tesco. The pool table and other games are free. Overall I have had an excellent time at Central Quay and would recommend it to anyone.
Good location but that's about it. The so called gym isn't worth anything, especially if you go to The gym on a regular basis this would be highly disappointing. The only thing you can do is cardio in there and even this leave a lot to wish for with no modern treadmills. Another thing, you have to pay to use washing machine, so yeah "all-bills included" is not so true... You will spend fortune on your washing... Internet is the worst thing on earth, I have to call the internet support team like every week to solve issues with connecting my laptop and my PlayStation, plus it is ridiculously slow once you connect. My 3G on my phone is faster than that "50mbps" wifi. So in the most important moments of your studies it can let you down, especially if you leave your assignment until the last minute. The showers are awful, keep blocking and the whole bathroom is made of cheap plastic so forget about design.. It feels like you're on a boat. Heaters are rubbish, had to buy an additional one.
The management at Lulworth Student Co are a joke. They don't care about the residents at all and are only interested in your money. When we were booking they tried to charge different people different deposits and when I moved out they simply sent the smallest amount back rather than the deposit paid. Our kitchen was filthy when we moved in. The fridge was full of food and the surfaces were covered in white mould. Supposedly it was cleaned once a week but the only time it ever got cleaned was when we did it ourselves. Not acceptable at all. Security is limited if non-existent. You could collect anyone's parcel if you knew their name! They made no effort to tell you when parcels arrived, one of my friends had flowers bought for them but by the time they realised they had died in the box in reception. There are better places nearby!
Lovely, modern accommodation with plenty of facilities at a low cost. Staff are very helpful/friendly and everything is kept to a high standard of cleanliness - for student living, that is! Only drawbacks are the distance from Sheffield Hallam University (20 minute walk) can be a pain, especially being away from the student/clubbing nightlife. On the whole however, this halls is a good choice, especially if you like to keep yourself to yourself and study for a degree, rather than live for the student life like myself.
Really nice rooms and kitchen areas, there's six of us though so we got an extra fridge freezer. Everyone at reception is really nice, always security there to help. Maintenance smartphone app is really good as well. Location is a bit far out compared to others, but still only a 10 min walk to city centre and 15 min walk to hallam.
Value is great as all bills are included. It is located 20 min walk away from the town centre which is a fair distance compared to other halls. Didnt clean the flats at all here, that was down to you. The common room was quite small really, not much space
