I’ve just decided to re-book to stay in Towpath again this coming year because I love everything it has to offer, staff are absolutely amazing especially Maggie-May who stood out as going above and beyond.

Hi thank you for your question and please accept our apologies for the delay, all of our studios have smart TV's in them, as do our shared kitchens in group flats, residents are responsible for their own TV licence fee

The bronze en-suit was a good size and was big enough for my friends to stay over when they visited. Very nice and modern bathroom with led lights in the mirror. Uni was a 10 minute walk away, the city centre 5 minute walk and the retail park 10 minute walk everything you needed was so close to the accommodation.
The Towpath is a fantastic accommodation to choose to live in throughout your time at university. The team who make it possible for us to live here are fantastic, particularly Paige and Meg, who sort out anything you need and do it quickly and efficiently.
Good accommodation, great location and attentive staff. Colin is especially friendly and will always stop for a chat, great team!
Really friendly staff members, especially May
You pay a bit more but I do think it’s worth it. A good amount of space in the kitchen / room / social spaces. Very close to town and the main uni. All the staff are lovely but they do change around :( Colin is the best of course but also love the two new day staff (sorry don’t know ur names yet) <3
I have loved my time at the Towpath! The accommodation is really nice and modern, the staff are always really friendly and there are good social events such as therapy dogs.
The Towpath is a great place to live and I have booked to live here for a second year for that reason. The location is perfect for town and the university. The staff, especially Colin who is such a laugh, are lovely and helpful and make you feel very welcome and at home. I always feel I can approach them with any issues or just for a chat and a coffee.
I’ve just decided to re-book to stay in Towpath again this coming year because I love everything it has to offer, staff are absolutely amazing especially Maggie-May who stood out as going above and beyond.
Great accommodation and great location. Can't fault The towpath. love the little events and the therapy dogs. love the staff here especially May, if you want positive vibes or someone to talk to, go see her
I’ve really enjoyed my time staying at The Towpath. I’ve rebooked for next year and can’t wait. I love how much there is to offer, from social events, how clean the property is, and especially the therapy dogs :) Some of the staff are excellent, special mention to May, she’s so kind and always there to listen when no one else is :)
I really enjoy staying at towpath, the staff are always really happy to help out. Maggie May in particular is so helpful and always so positive! Thanks so much
Your prices are disgusting. Also if you’re going to ask for this much rent then at least install dishwashers and cheaper laundry that doesn’t break down all the time ! May is the best person that works there though <3
I visited a friend who stayed here and Im not gonna lie, I was pretty jealous. Really cool accom with some great amenities and nice rooms. You can't go wrong getting this accom in my opinion.
Couldn't be happier with my experience staying at the Towpath! I felt welcome and at home from the day I moved in. I feel safe and without worry here. The staff are all kind and approachable, particularly May. May has been there for me at night when I have been worried or needed a chat more times than I can count. Nothing I have asked of her has been too much and I've never met anyone who makes me feel more listened to. She is always there to sort any issues I have and goes above and beyond to help, even if that's just to be somebody to talk to at night when nobody else is around to listen. My parents feel reassured knowing that people like her are around when I need support and I am so thankful for that. The managers, Rachel and Molly, are also incredibly approachable and happy to help. Any issues are always quickly addressed and I've never been made to feel like anything is too much to ask. Their friendliness and efficiency makes me feel secure and leave me with no worries :)
Without a doubt, the best university accommodation of all time. The Towpath is the best place to book for university accommodation in Chester. Both May and Molly at the towpath are the kindest, sweetest, most helpful people I've ever met; they've supported me and my friend to the best of their abilities, going above and beyond for me. They listened to my issues and made it their mission to reassure me. I look forward to going to reception every day, the social life is great. Furthermore, The Towpath offers the largest social space of any of Chester's student roosts. plus, the gym! I was also supposed to stay at Tramways, but when I saw The Towpath, I was hooked. If Adele can set fire to the rain, I can set fire to this page if you guys don't choose The Towpath over Tramways.
Been here for 2 years now and Colin has really stood out from the rest. A genuinely lovely man, always willing to help and an asset to the company. The accommodation is a little pricey, but it is in a great location, the rooms are ensuite and bills are included.
The best part about towpath was the night security staff. Really made the stay worth it. Colin was genuinely amazing made me feel welcome on my first day. Thanks Colin !!!!
The Towpath is an amazing place to live, I’ve been here for 2 years now and I’ve loved every moment of it, I love how events are planned for us and the towpath are always giving. All the staff are lovely, may and Collin are so friendly and the new receptionist Meg always has a smile on her face, makes us feel very welcomed, Paige is also great and always there for a chat.
Paige is amazing, everyone helps with any issues i have.
I have stayed at the towpath for my three years at university and have had no issues at all. It’s in a great location and the staff are lovely especially Paige!
The Towpath is a home from home. Uni is a 5 minute walk away, and so is the town center! The staff in the office are very accommodating, especially paige, who always manages to make time for us when we need it, and will always do her best to make sure problems are dealt with immediately. Overall i personally would give the Towpath 5 stars, the value for money is great, especially with energy prices going up, the staff go out of their way to make it feel like more of a home than just a student accommodation, especially with there being staff on site 24 hours! and the location is ideal
Love the staff especially, Paige and Collin
Overall very positive experience, should there be any issue reception (Paige and Sarah) are always happy to help.
Receptionists are lovely people, always eager to help the people living there. Good 1st year experience all round :)
Lovely accommodation with beautiful views and even a pub on site, easy access to uni as well. Lovely rooms with high quality beds and items. Reception specifically may, always helps when needed and lovely to chat to, one of my favourite receptionist.
The Towpath is a home from home! it's in a great location, your a few minutes walk away from the town center and the main campus, with transport links also very close by. There's always an event happening, which is great to meet new people, and the staff always ask if we have any suggestions, and make it very person centered. My parents love knowing there is staff onsite 24 hours a day, which most accommodations don't offer. The Staff are lovely, and really make it more homely, paige will go above and beyond for you, and will always make time for us if we need it. Meg has just started in reception, and she is very friendly and will always offer to help. Overall my stay at the Towpath has been great!
I wanted to choose a student accomdation that was suited for me and towpath has been perfect it’s definitely the nicest accomdation in chester and I’m so glad I’ve picked it the staff are all lovely and have me feel very welcomed and they deffo show that they care about everyone who lives here I’ve loved my time here that much I’ve decided to rebook for next year I went for a silver en-suites and it’s perfect for me big thanks to everyone at towpath for the work they do
unreal place to stay, great value. paige and may are so welcoming every time I go down to reception to pick up a package :)
Towpath is a lovely place to live, the best student accommodation I have even been to, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly especially Paige and Colin. Enjoyed it that much during my first year at university that we are moving back here second year. Would highly recommend
Great Place to live always soemone on the front desk! Big thank you to Paige and Colin who makes the place extra special!
Really enjoy living here, the staff are very friendly and approachable, especially Paige, Colin and May. They go above and beyond to help us out.
The reception staff are very good especially Colin and Paige who are always full of chat. However the maintenance staff are none existent my shower hasn’t drained all year
Really good location, and good facilities with an en-suite and everything you need in both the rooms and kitchens. Reception staff are amazing, always helpful and friendly especially Paige and Sarah Louise!
Great place to stay at would recommend to anybody, especially the members of staff who work in reception mainly may and Paige who I would say are the most welcoming and loving receptionists I have met and is one of the reasons i would recommend towpath to anybody
I had a viewing with Paige before i booked with the Towpath, and she was nothing but helpful and accommodating. The location is ideal, as you are central to the town center, retail center and the main campus is just a 5 minute walk! There's always something gone on at the Towpath with events, which allows us to meet new people which is a bonus, if you weren't that sociable during freshers week. Staff in the office are helpful, especially paige, who will go above and beyond for you. - Molly is also helpful and is there for a chat Overall my stay here has been great, and have already rebooked!
Paige is great, all staff are lovely, have no problems here at all, definitely rebooking
Good reviews from friends. Paige a massive help booking for next year with the people I want to stay with next year. May always helpful and welcoming
This is a lovely place to stay Paige is very helpful at dealing with problems she is very accommodating.
Staff are very friendly and provide an atmosphere of support and safety.
Paige in reception is always very helpful and resolves any issues quickly. The towpath is in an amazing location close to the town centre.
I have lived in the towpath for two years & will stay here for my final year next year to! It’s a great location being by the canal and only a short walk away from town and uni! The flats themselves are really modern and clean. The staff in reception are always welcoming and happy to help, particularly Paige! Overall it’s a great place to live.
The location is near perfect, an easy walk to main campus and an even easier walk to town. The social room nearly always has an event going on and the gym is a plus. The staff are very friendly, especially paige who treats you like an equal and puts herself in your shoes when there's any problems. She has dealt with every issue perfectly and makes towpath that more enjoyable to live at. All in all towpath is great for new uni students to fully experience uni life but also have living conditions and support whenever it's needed.
The towpath is a lovley place to stay with staff such as paige and may always willing to help and support.
Best place to stay in Chester. The social aspects of towpath are amazing when it comes to meeting new people. Facilities are so good. And the staff are always on top form, special mention goes to paige and may for making towpath more of a home than just a house.
Enjoyed living at Towpath so much this year that I’ve even booked for next year. Although a little more on the expensive side you do get your moneys worth with good rooms and kitchens as well as a lovely social area to study and see friends. Best location in Chester to get into the town centre easily and Towpath even put on events to meet new friends which made it a lot easier as a fresher who knew nobody. Thanks to Paige and May from reception who are always happy to help and have a chat with you. Definitely would recommend.
the best place in chester to stay! Staff are so welcoming and happy to help with anything you need. Provide a range of social activities so you can make friends and settle into moving away from home with a little more ease. Special mentions to May and Paige for always making us feel at home and being up for a chat whenever you want one.
Overall good experience, Paige and Mae are excellent receptionists who will put time aside if you have issues.
paige is our favourite, always polite and happy to help
Would not have picked anywhere else in Chester to stay. All the receptionists are so accommodating. Paige has always offered to lend a helping hand and with the social area events she’s always the first one there to say hi to all the students.
it’s been lovely living here and Paige is always happy to help in reception! :)
The towpath is great! Although rooms may seem more pricey than other accommodation types such as houses, the towpath team run events and there is always staff onsite( which you do not always get elsewhere). The social space and frequent events allow for flats to mix and for us to socialise with other students and also with the fabulous staff. The staff are always there to offer advice and have the best chats in the office (especially mae) which provides comfort for my parents at home. The location is perfect, even for students studying at Queens park and Wheeler campus. For these reasons, I highly recommend The Towpath and will always have positive words to say about the rooms and the people, hence the reason I will be staying here for the rest of my studies whilst in Chester.
Paige is so lovely and always happy to help when I forget my key always lovely to chat too
When things were broken in our flat, they were not reliable on fixing these issues & staff did not communicate with each other.
A great location for an accommodation, it has many social opportunities which have helped me meet new people and make friends
Wi-Fi is outstanding, only ever been down twice and only for a couple minutes however this is made up for with the speed (250mb/s) and with the UK average being (50mb/s), nobody can complain As well as the flat layouts they offer not only a great social setting but also allow that time for yourself with great sized rooms and features
Amazing accommodation (if not a little pricey) with plenty of friendly faces, especially Colin!
I honestly do not know where to start with this review. It will be a long one but if you are considering booking the Towpath, I would strongly suggest you take a read. It has taken me so long to write this as I’ve only just processed all the wrong-doing’s and distress that was caused during my stay at the Towpath. I would even go as far as saying that I was ‘gaslit’ into believing that my best interests were taken into consideration and that the situation was dealt with sensitively. When I moved in , I was very happy, my room was clean and the accommodation is situated in a nice area. The kitchen was spacious but the ripped sofa was tatty and full of dirt. I reported this and it was then cleaned. The communal areas seemed nice, although the gym was very disappointing. The first minor issue arose when a tenant had moved out , leaving behind a whole fridge of food and many cupboards filled with their property. When I had finally realised they had moved out , I let the staff know that
I really enjoyed my time at the towpath. The rooms on arrival where spotless and very modern compared to other university accommodation, and the social and communal areas are always clean and tidy. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful and there’s always someone on reception 24/7. It’s in a great location to all Chester campuses and it’s right in the town centre.
Need toilet in Communal/social space so that when there don’t have to go back to room or elsewhere

Thank you so much for your feedback, sadly at this time you are right there isn't a bathroom in the social space, potentially in the future but for now luckily you are never too far from your bathroom on site.
- need toilets in the communal area - wifi can be slow

Thanks for your feedback, we are looking into this as a possibility but it will be down to logistics and the appropriate space and drainage but is something we have discussed. I'm sorry to hear you've found the wifi slow it is up to 100MB, please let us or ASK4 know if you are experiencing any issues so that we may assist with any queries, we are on site 24/7
Need a toilet in communal space

Thanks for your feedback, this is something we have looked at for the future. Luckily you are never too far from your own bathroom on our site.
Absolutely fabulous! Great service! Amazing staff! Loved every minute

How wonderful that you loved living here, we are biased but think our facilities and location can't be beaten. The team will be delighted to hear that you found them amazing during your stay and we are so glad you loved living here. Thanks again for your kind review.
This will be my 4th year staying at The Towpath! Within my 4 years staying here, I have loved every minute of it. The staff are really helpful, and any issues you may have they will be happy to resolve them and log any maintenance issues which might need fixing, which are usually done promptly. The towpath is a lovely place to live, with a modern touch for uni Accomodation. The rooms are of good size, including the en-suite! The 24 hour security was one of the main reasons myself and my parents wanted me to stay at this Accomodation. All the facilities ( games room, gym, social space and laundry room) are a massive bonus to this Accomodation and with them being on site, especially the games room and social space, it is a great way of getting to know new people and mix with different flats near you! I have made friends for life from choosing to stay at the towpath and can’t wait for my 4th and final year here :)

Wow what a wonderful review , we are so glad you have chosen to live with us throughout your uni years and that you find our team helpful , friendly and reactive. We are so glad to hear you love our social spaces and facilities as much as we do and having a gym on your doorstep is really handy isn't it. We are one of the few student accommodations that offer 24/7 on site staffing and we are so pleased that this gave you and your parents peace of mind, We hope your last year with us is a fabulous as your others and that your friendships that you made here last a lifetime. Thanks again the team will be over the moon to read your feedback.
Staff are lovely and accommodating, always felt at home and well looked after 👌 10/10
Overpriced for rooms that are falling apart, doors break and are never fixed, waited for a light to be fixed for 10 months now, lifts constantly covered in sick, urine, anything you can think of really. If you want a never ending stream of unknown men coming through your apartment unannounced this is the place for you. The only positive I can think of is the location, this place is a genuine scam.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. So that I can look into the issues raised please email us directly with your room number to the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk. I was shocked to read your comments about the lifts as our housekeeping team clean them every day and our onsite team check them hourly throughout the night to ensure any cleanliness issues are addressed so I'm sorry to read you have experienced otherwise - in the unlikely event of future issues please report them to our onsite team 24/7 on 01244 566233 so that we can deal with them as they happen. We do have works happening at site throughout the year to keep the building safe for things such as smoke alarm servicing, water testing and to clean and maintain rooms and we always email notice to our residents at least 24 hours before entry , contractors also wear visitor badges and knock before entering occupied flats. We would like the opportunity to discuss the issues you have raised and look forward to being able to speak to you directly about your concerns and we await your email or call.
If you want the smell of sewage and zero nights sleep, this is the place for you! Despite the sewage plant being situated miles away, you will smell raw human faeces for a good 5/7 days a week. I hope you don't care much for your sleep schedule, because all the flats face onto eachother. Every night someone will be partying until 4am and you will hear every single bass drop, shout, and shattered glass. Onto maintenance. My bathroom light has been inoperable since the day I moved in almost 12 months ago and I've been waiting a solid three months to get a large crack in my wall seen to, I'm convinced they're putting it off so they can charge me for the repairs and take it out of my deposit. Try not to get too attached to the lifts in your block either, when ours broke it took four months to get it fixed. The washing facilities and gym are both good, and the Internet is great, but these are small positives to an otherwise miserable experience. Not worth the money at all.

We are so saddened to hear that you are not having the best experience living with us, due to covid we have been very strict on visitors during lockdown and restrictions and have staff on site 24/7 to report any issues to that we can then address in terms of unacceptable noise levels. I am aware that there is sewage plant some miles away , however, our team have received no feedback on this being an issue for our residents or experienced this themselves and I'm sorry you have been affected by it. In relation to maintenance this is definately not what you would expect from us and dissapointing to read, I can only apologise for not responding to your needs in a more timely manner . We do ask all residents to make a note of any concerns on move in and can assure you that we would not charge for a light bulb out or repairs to damage not caused by yourself. Please email us directly on the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk so we can discuss this further and reassure you. I am so pleased you find our internet speeds good, and at 100MB they are great for uni work and gamers and that our 24/7 gym and laundry have met your needs. Our lift in block d was sadly damaged in circumstances beyond our control and to ensure the safety of residents had to be put out of order until the considerable repairs were made. These took much longer than we anticipated for a variety of reasons and we are delighted it is now fully operational. Thank you for giving us a chance to respond to your reviews and we look forward to hearing from you directly.
Great place to stay for students. A homey room, friendly staff and great location make living in here a great experience.

Thanks you so much for your lovely feedback, we have to agree just 4 mins from the city centre and shops and 8 mins walk to exton park campus our location really is hard to beat. It makes us happy to read that living here is a great experience for you.
Great place, good managment who will help you with what you need.
I have lived here for 4 years and that’s because it is by far the best student accommodation in Chester! While it may be expensive it is certainly worth it for the social experience you get. It is not just a place to live it’s a social hub filled with friends and lovely people. Fantastic location next to a lovely pub with live music, amazing views overlooking the canal and perfect distance to the city centre! All bills are included, it’s furnished and 24 hour maintenance If you need something fixed or repairing. The team and staff that work there are also lovely and there is plenty of opportunities to get involved with things going on. They really do make an effort hosting events or completions based around holiday dates (such as halloween, christmas, etc). Even the security staff are lovely. Towpath is not just accommodation it is your uni home.

wow what a wonderful review, thank you for making towpath your home for the last 4 years, we agree the location on the canal is amazing and we are the only waterfront studio accommodation in Chester. You are right it is a perfect location just 4 minute walk to the city centre and 8 minutes to the main parkgate road campus. The pub ( telfords warehouse) also does lovely food so you don't have far to go to eat out or shop. Thanks again I'll share your review with my team who will be over the moon with your feedback.
Amazing experience! Only downside was they the WiFi was poor at times when working or having online lectures.
Loved my time here and the staff were friendly and wonderful. Couple of issues with the WiFi but sorted very quickly

We are so pleased to read that you loved your time at the Towpath and found the team to be wonderful, what a great compliment that I'll share with all th team. Glad to hear any wifi issues were resolved quickly too. Thanks again for your review.
Lovely and smiling. Even after a 12 hr shift

Thanks so much for this kind feedback, I'm so happy to hear that the team are welcomimg no matter the time of day and we will make sure that the team see it too.
I have stayed at Towpath for 2 years now and it is perfectly located to town & university campus’. The corridors are cleaned very well and cleaning during Covid has been fabulous so thank you so much to the cleaner. The people in the office are great and work very well with what they are given by studentroost…which isn’t very much/good. Any issues are sorted quite quickly by the people in the office and maintenance so thank you to them. However, in both my years living there the lift has been broken lifts for months on end..this is no fault of those in the office though. Studentroost as a company is terrible and do not care about the well-being of students. They do not care about their sites seeing as there have been holes in ceilings for over a month now. They need to repaint the rooms because the marks on the walls are disgusting. I wouldn’t be surprised if the resident in the room didn’t get their deposit back for mark’s that were there for years before them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave some valuable feedback, its wonderful to hear that you find the spaces clean especially during Covid and i'll ensure Emma gets the great feedback that she deserves. I'm also delighted to read your feedback on the office team. Sadly you are correct we have had some issues with lifts over the last two years, electrical equipment can fail but we always have an engineer on site within 24 hours to assess and quote for repairs / repair at the same time if possible, sadly one was badly damaged and needed many parts replacing last year but as soon as they were received into the country repairs were carried out . Another lift has a had a major electrical fault so for the safety of residents has been put out of order until it can be fully repaired. This has taken longer than anticipated but the parts for this have been ordered and we are awaiting delivery and engineer repair dates which are out of our hands but we get updates on a bi weekly basis. I'm sorry to hear that you feel Student Roost don't care about their sites , the onsite team care very much and are supported by Head Office in terms of repairs etc, however I'm concerned to hear about unrepaired holes in ceilings, so that we can investigate this further and give an update please can you email the flat number of the area concerned to the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk please so we can help resolve this issue. We are currently undertaking repainting of rooms as we do each year on a rolling basis as people leave and we always ask residents to complete an inventory to advise us of any concerns at move in so that we can either rectify them or ensure that the new resident isn't charged for damages they haven't caused. It would be great if you can have the resident of the room with marks on the wall to reach out to us directly with their concerns. Thanks again for the feedback on the team and I hope to get a chance to address your concerns if you can contact us directly. Thanks Traycie
the price was good however it’s going up next year which reduces the value for money. i selected a false contract and wasn’t allowed to change, we’re also being charged for issues we didn’t cause. apart from that the gym and social space is great location great and the staff are amazing. great experience

Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm so glad you have had a great experience and that you rate the team amazing. I'd really like the chance to look at your concerns around being charged for damages you didn't cause, would you be able to email the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk please so we can help resolve this issue. Thanks
Very good place and lovely staff, amazing views

Thank you so much for your kind feedback, especially about the team and yes we really do have the best location and views don't we :-)
Great accommodation, clean environment & loved my time here
Really friendly staff, great for a chat and always about when you need them. Great value for money with loads of things to do e.g. gym, pool table. Love the location right next to the canal, close to city centre.

Wow what a wonderful review, we couldn't have said it better ourselves, we are so happy that you find us a friendly bunch and available to chat and help you when you need us. We love the location too. Thanks again
Staff are super friendly and accommodation is lovely with gorg views

THank you so much for your review, we really do have the best views being on the waterfront and lovely accomodation , thank you for your great feedback of the team, it means alot to us to hear that you find us super friendly.
Very lovely place to live, beautiful scenery with a gorgeous pub just next door. Lovely staff
Lovely friendly staff, always helpful if you ever have a problem! Lovely place to live

Thank you so much for your great feedback, it really is appreciated by the team. We love it here and glad you find it a lovely place to live too.
The Towpath is a great place to stay. The staff are so friendly. Would highly recommend!

Thank you so much, we love that you think its a great place to stay , we do too but we are biased :-) , thank you for your recommendation and the team were delighted to read that you find us so friendly.
love the people, always put a smile on my face when i go down to reception. Very welcoming, and the common room was by far my favourite part of staying at Towpath.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, the common room is so large and a great waterfront space, we love it too. The team were thrilled to read that they put a smile on your face when visiting our 24/7 reception. Thanks for choosing Towpath as your home.
Love the rooms and the kitchen area however lift in my block is still broken and that’s not fun.

Thank you so much for your review , we think the rooms and kitchens are great and it pleases us that you do too. We know how frustrating it is when a lift is out of order , we had to close it off for safety reasons and the parts are on order to get it back in full working order as soon as possible.
I enjoy living here, social room is good to meet people
Nice room and study space in a good location

Thank you for your review, we love our waterfront study space and short walk to the city centre too.
Great environment, friendly staff

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, the team were delighted with the feedback.
Really had an amazing time living there for my experience abroad! It was really close to the campus and shops, which was essential for me. The staff there are absolutely lovely and very helpful in times of need. I would completely recommend choosing the Towpath as your accomodation!

Wow thank you so much for your great review, we were glad to be able to provide a home from home for you whilst in the UK, we know how important that is to our international students who may be in the country for the first time. I will feedback your lovely comments about the team to the site and its great to hear how helpful they were to you in your times of need . We agree the location is truly amazing and is so handy for the shops and the campus with all the gorgeous City of Chester has to offer just minutes away. We hope that we get a chance in the future to welcome you back to the UK and see you at the Towpath
Cracking internet speeds, lovely staff, great mailing system, my only issue is the price. I'm on the highest student loan tier and Towpath is so pricey that 70% of my loan goes on rent and I'm left struggling to afford food. Are the facilities good? Hell yeah, they're great, no question, but you have to be from a wealthy family to get the most of the experience. P.S. Make sure to get a room that isn't facing Telford's Warehouse, or you won't get a single nights sleep. Not just noise from the pub, but you'll hear everyone partying every night of the week.

Hi thanks so much for taking the time to review the Towpath and your experience of staying here, we are so pleased you think the facilities are great, the wifi speeds cracking and that we have lovely staff :-) We are very proud of the Towpath and we know we aren't the cheapest accommodation or the dearest but we believe we offer great value for money in Chester and our pricing is clear along with our discounts on our website. This way people can make an informed choice as to our affordability, many of our residents are not from wealthy families and supplement their loans with part time jobs or savings or family support and we have a range of rooms, tenancy lengths and prices to help cater to all needs. Once again thanks for choosing Towpath as your home in Chester
Such a great accommodation its always clean and tidy and has everything you need! It’s in a perfect location as it’s close to both the main campus and the city. All the staff are super friendly and supportive and can help you with anything you need. I have stayed at The Towpath for 2 years and would highly recommend it to anybody looking for student accommodation!

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we love to hear of residents staying with us throughout their university experience and calling Towpath home, it is a great location with everything you need on your doorstep including places to walk and excercise out doors on less rainy days :-)
My second year here and I had to isolate when arriving from abroad and the team really looked after me. They took my rubbish. Brought me parcels and food deliveries and checked I was ok. It was a hard two weeks but they made it a bit easier for me.

Hi we are so glad you felt supported during your period of self isolation. Its a really difficult time but I'm happy we could make things a little easier and you are now out of isolation :-)
Love living here and can’t wait to be back after this looooong break

We love having you and can't wait to have you back ! Here's to 20/21
Hi guys, I hope you are well. This is Abdu from Saudi Arabia I international student in the UK. Actually, I have been in Towpath since December 2019 it is a nice place in Chester city when I arrived Towpath I got brilliant room which is clean, tidy and nice smell. As well, you can walk to a supermarket and the city centre around 5 minutes and from the school English in Chester around 7 minutes. So, you can find social space consists of a laundry room, a very quiet student room, gym. Unfortunately, I going to move to another city and I can't find as same accommodation. All the employees are friendly, cooperative and helpful and work 24/7. They help all residents. Also, during the COVID-19 who are want to move out or stay in their room, they help them with their contract and flexibility. Honestly, I strongly recommend it. Cheers, Abdullah

Hi Abdu, thank you so much for your great review , its always great to hear our residents love living here and I'm sorry we don't have a Student Roost in the City you are moving too but I'm sure you will find somewhere you will be just as happy. I'm so glad to hear you feel supported by our 24/7 team during COVID and we wish you all the best in your new city and home.
Very cosy, fresh, comfortable place with nice location and views. Warm in winter because of excellent thermo isolation.

Hi thank you so much for your review, we think its cosy and homely too. Glad you were snug and warm in winter due to the insulation and individual heating in each room.
Hi everyone, Before I moved to Towpath, I had lived in different student accommodation, none of them as the same as the Towpath. I've lived in The Towpath for 6 months as I’m more than happy to continue here. In terms of the location, the accommodation is handy for the city centre and for the University of Chester, so you would not waste time when you want to go to the city centre. Although it is really convenient, the area where the accommodation is located is really calm and safe. About the buildings, all the buildings get regularly maintained so you can make sure that everything in the building is fine. Regarding the WIFI, it is really outstanding, and the signals of the WIFI are full everywhere inside the buildings. About the Social space, it is a great place to relax and read a book as it is spacious and luxurious. About the staff, literally, I cannot describe how helpful and thoughtful Traycie and her workmates are.

wow thank you so much for your glowing and detailed review, we are so glad that you love staying here, reviews like this make the team so happy and I'll be sure to pass on your very kind words and feedback to them all. We look forward to you continuing your stay here at the Towpath.
In my personal experience it has been great, I lived in a silver studio with my boyfriend and it was great, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the wife is good, didn't have any problems with it. Its not considered the best price but considering the location and the security this accommodate gives you i think its worth the price.
Totally honest review. I have stayed at towpath one first year and it has been amazing. From 24 hour on site staff to pizza party’s in the social space! I think staying at The Towpath has made my first year very memorable! In my flat we had a TV in the kitchen, as well as in the social space! This was brilliant for bonding with the other flat mates as we had something to break the ice! The staff are very kind and friendly and have answered any question that I have had! Because of how amazing my first year was I’m choosing to stay with Towpath again. The internet was very quick and made it so easy for me to complete uni work because I wasn’t having to battle with the WiFi all the time. Their is also a quite space for you to get on with your uni work if you don’t fancy going to the library! Towpath also has a built in gym, this was great because the gym membership around Chester is about £30 a month, making it cheaper and more convenient to use the gym! I would definitely recommend.

Jemima thank you so much for your wonderful review and feedback, it makes us so happy to have reviews like this from our residents and we can't wait to welcome you home in September. Thanks again for your kind words
As a parent we chose towpath because of the on site 24 hour staff , close location to parkgate campus and the city centre and from a friends recommendation. We and our daughter have been really happy with the choice and she hopes to return for her final year of study of travel restrictions are lifted.

We are so glad that you felt that Towpath was a great choice for your daughter and we would love to have her back, our 24/7 on site support team is something we are really pleased to be able to offer and we also love our location close to the city centre and the campus. Stay safe and we hope to welcome your daughter back for her final year. The Towpath Team
I loved living here and was sorry I had to leave earky due to covid. I lived here for two years and would recommend for location and the friendly team. I made new friends and felt safe here too

Hi thanks so much for the feedback, we are sorry that many of our residents had to leave early due to Covid too but I hope that you are staying safe and well. I also hope you take the friends you made here into your future. Take Care from us all at The Towpath Team
I am absolutely over the moon with the customer service I received from Jessica at the Towpath. What a wonderful place to be able to stay. Thank you again. 5 stars.

Wow thank you !! Jess will be delighted with this feedback , we are so happy you love staying with us and that you got great customer service from Jess
The Towpath is a brilliant place for students! Located next to a pub with great views of the canal, a short walk into town full of bars and clubs in a 5-10 min walking distance! The main campus is located a 7 min walk away and is very easy to get too! Would recommend to anyone especially with the large rooms and lovely kitchen areas to socialise with flat mates. It also has a social space with table tennis available all the time and tv with netflix on! It also includes a quiet area to let you crack on with work without having to go to the library!
Covid-19: They have been amazing, with letting me out of my contract even after the issue with my internet not showing them I want to move out after the deadline. I have had so much support on helping me move out efficiently as well as having no stress of having to go pick my things up in the middle of lockdown.

What a lovely review , thanks so much we are so pleased you love / loved living with us , hopefully the pubs and clubs will soon be back open as there is a great selection in Chester
I am reviewing The Towpath management as a parent. The pastoral support, care and confidentiality provided by The Towpath Manager Traycie for the students and their parents is absolutely second to none. Traycie dedicates herself to the students in her care - if a student needs her to be, she is their mum away from home - I have nothing but praise and admiration for her. Thank you Traycie

Thank you so much for this lovely review. It means a lot to us, as we pride ourselves on the service we provide for our residents in their home away from home.
I am a current student in Towpath and I am disgusted by one of the employees who work there. Annalise I think her name is is consistently rude and I personally have seen her drunk. (NOT HUNGOVER) but actually drunk on at least 3 occasions with on 2 of those occasions my mail not put away in a safe place. Traycie the manager is a disaster and doesn't care one bit.
sometimes the internet cannot work

Hi , I'm sorry to hear you have been having trouble with the internet, we are aware there was some downtime for a few hours last week due to an equipment failure at the exchange but not any other outages recently. I understand this is all fixed, we do have a 24/7 internet helpline with our provider on 0114 303 3232 so please let us and them know if you have any outages so that they can be resolved for you. Many thanks Traycie
Right so here's the most honest review. I'm not going to sugar coat anything and everything said in this review I have spoke to people about. It's classed as "luxury accommodation" fair enough but it's not cheap for what you get. You are always going to get trouble in a shared flat but save yourself some money and go to a different accomodation if you want studios this place is not built for them. If you want a quiet night in the social space to watch a film (don't expect it to be quiet for too long. It's open floor planned so you can hear people playing pool (not quiet) also there's no toilet whoch is a downside. The good things about this place is that it is close to Parkgate Campus and town and you have a pub on your door step which obviously has mixed reviews. Another good thing is that the security from Wednesday to Sunday night is fantastic all other days it is a bit touch and go in fairness. Overall it was an experience to say the least it's personal opinion if you like it here.
Now that I have officially left here I feel like I can freely talk about how horrible it was to live in a place like this! I felt like I was being treated like a child all the time, I’m 20 years old, I’m an adult. The noise can be very excessive on a Monday and Tuesday night, due to the usual security guard not being there and students then think they can get away with everything. The usual Security Guard Colin is amazing at his job, there is not one thing you can fault about him!!! However the towpath is now such a disaster, and it’s a real shame as in September it was a very lovely place to live, but now I’m glad I’m never returning. I had some of my darkest times in The Towpath and the way students were treated didn’t help. I’m sorry but it is the truth!
Disgusting accommodation, worst place I have ever lived. The constant flies coming from the bins in block A is terrible! There are barely any social events! Biggest waste of a year here, I was so lonely and unhappy! Glad I’ll be moving to a Student house, even with a landlord, the house is a million times better than this place
WORST PLACE TO LIVE. If you want to be treated like a child then TOWPATH is the place to be. Firstly, the accommodation is overpriced for what it actually is. I lived here last year and the reception staff and manager Kate was lovely, it actually made it great. This year, new management turned it upside down. All of the students are 18 and up, we’re not kids but we are treated like kids, constantly. Colin the security guard will gossip about anything and everything that is happening and in nought point five seconds everyone in the accommodation knows everything. You need more professional security employees as he doesn’t care about anyones confidentiality. A lot of drugs all the time, this isn’t stopped. Telford pub are extremely loud and disruptive, doesn’t help when you’re trying to concentrate and you have exams coming up. I shared a flat and my flatmates were lovely. Studios are overpriced and poorly designed. I would not recommend living here! Worst decision I ever made.
Shame I've left but after three years and a degree later it's my time to leave Chester. I'd like to thank everybody that's made my journey amazing and I will miss everybody except where I lived the kitchen was a mess, and I never cleaned my bedroom.
So glad I've left early not the best place to live
All I can say is don't stay here there are way more better places in Chester at a cheaper price

Hi Sarah, thank you for your feedback, I appreciate there are other choices in Chester at a variety of prices, we do make our pricing very clear online about what the costs are and what is included so that people can make an informed choice. I wasn't able to locate you as one of our current residents to reach out to you directly but If you have any specific feedback that we can use to improve the Towpath please get in touch via the.towpath@reception@studentroost.co.uk so that we can find out more about how we could provide better value for money. Many thanks The Towpath Team
I have decided to commute from home to university as this is overpriced for what you get!

Hi, thank you for your feedback, I hope that commuting from home works out well for you and thank you for choosing to live at Towpath this year. I do appreciate that our prices are higher than some other accommodation and less than some also, all of our prices and what is included is clearly detailed on our website so that people may make an informed choice about where to stay. If you have any specific concerns about the Towpath please get in touch on the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk as I don't currently have anyone staying here with that name to reach out to directly to see if we can help . Thanks again The Towpath Team
I'd advise you not to stay here. Just so many problems that trigger the people staying here

Hi , thank you for your review, please can you get in touch with us directly about any concerns you have as I don't have anyone with this name on our resident list staying with us , you can reach us on the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk Thank you The Towpath Team
It’s funny how all the good reviews were put up on the same day? I’m a going to be student and I want a nice accommodation but the competition between accommodations in Chester is petty that they go to the lengths in writing fake reviews, just like the accommodation Granary, they haven’t even been up and running and they have good reviews?
Very happy with accommodation, five minute walk to uni or city center. Somebody always on site to help out, comfy bed, good WiFi signal, nice bathroom, small compact yet functional rooms.

Thank you for your review , it is great to hear that you are happy here and find it convenient for uni and walking into the city and it wondeful to read that the team are on hand for you too , reception is staffed 24/7 and if there are any ways we can improve your living experience here at the Towpath please let us know. Many thanks Traycie
Value for money - it could be considered expensive, however it is a luxury student accommodation! People who complain about pricing should’ve looked it up online before booking and had a look round on an open day as well as figured out whether they can afford it first. I personally think it’s great value for what you get. The rooms are very spacious compared to a lot of other university accommodation (I have lived in three different types in Liverpool as well as towpath. I am most pleased with Towpath). The staff - Tracey, Gemma and Paul are always on hand to do what they can to make you feel safe and welcome - you couldn’t ask for more from site staff! I’ve had a great experience with them helping me out and maintenance is always fixed promptly and too a good standard. Looking forward to my second year stay :)

Thank you for your review, its great to hear that you feel the rooms are spacious and after living in 4 student accommodations I'm sure you have seen a good variety of room sizes and experiences to compare it against. It is great to hear that you are happy with the onsite team and that any maintenance issues are dealt with promptyly. It is wonderful to read that you are staying with us again next year and please as always let us know if there is anythign that we can do to improve your experience living at The Towpath. Thanks again The Towpath Team
Staffs are really kind, they manage the property so good that I can pay all my attention to the study.

Thank you so much for your review , I'm so glad you feel that the property is managed well and this helps you to concentrate on your study. I will pass your lovely comments about the team on to them. I agree they are wonderful. Thanks again Traycie
I originally wrote an excellent review for The Towpath, but since then i believe it has changed. The Towpath has become a horrible place for me to live, i believe its become a very unhappy place. Since December, it just seems to have got worse and worse and there is only so long you can put up with it for. I didn't move out to be treated like a child and thats how i feel by the staff now. There is only one good staff member left, which is the security guard who doesn't even work for student roost! i write this review with sadness as this place in september was amazing but now it's like a drugs den! There are drugs in ever block of The Towpath and nothing is done. I don't think i can live here another year. So if i was you i wouldn't live here in september and i would consider living elsewhere.

HI Thank you for your review, I'm really sorry to hear that you are no longer enjoying living here, we would welcome the chance to discuss any concerns with you so that we can try and resolve them so please feel free to pop into reception or email the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk , our reception is manned 24/7 . Thanks again for your feedback. Traycie
I've lived in the Towpath for the last two years and have rebooked to spend my final year there too! The staff and halls themselves are amazing and the views from the rooms are insane! If you want a hassle free and modern space to live the Towpath is where you need to be!

Thank you so much for your review, its great to hear that you are staying with us an extra year and enjoy living here. We think the rooms are pretty insane too . If there is anything we can do to make living at the Towpath better please let us know on the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk or in person at reception. Thanks again Traycie
Absolutely incredible place to live, staff are friendly and supportive and always know how to cheer you up. Location is beautiful and students are welcomed into office with a welcoming smile. On site security are fabulous and friendly and couldn’t make you feel safer (also good to chat to while having a fag). Office staff are always there to listen whether a personal issue or financial issue there always there. Highly recommend living at the towpath made my uni stay amazing.

Hi Charlie, thanks so much for your review, I'm glad the team have been there to listen for you. Colin is fabulous and its great to hear that you think this too. Warm regards Traycie
The Towpath is always 100% the best place in the towpath, the staff Traycie, Lorna, Paul & Colin are all so friendly and always happy to help. The security is top notch, Colin the security guard is the funniest and super friendly. The cluster flats are the best thing about the towpath, it’s the best way to meet new friends as well as the social events. The best place to live in Chester

Thank you so much for your review , we are so glad you love the cluster flats and have been able to make new friends and enjoy the social events. Its great to hear that you find Colin super friendly and I'll be sure to feed that back to him. Anything else that we can do to help continue to make Towpath a great place to live please let us know in reception or email us on the.towpath@studentroost.co.uk Thanks Traycie
