Average university but very heavily focussed on acting courses
I've loved the University of Chichester. If you're someone who is an introvert and likes the small community feel, University of Chichester is for you! Lovely lecturers, and more than happy to always help you out if you have any questions!
The campus is fairly small which is nice as it has a nice community feel and you get to know a lot of people around the university. The university has lots of connection to the wider community and has a good reputation among the city. The University campus is fairly basic and needs a serious clean (lots of dried gum, mud etc.) The library is too small for the increasing amount of students, it's hard to get a seat sometimes. The library also needs updating in terms of basic amenities (keyboards, chairs, desks etc.) The university also needs to update its campus, it feels very basic and old. Some of the uni. accommodation is very outdated (Hammond halls and Pinewood halls are very outdated). The university will try and force its agenda and inclusion at you very hard. for example, the university expects all students to get involved with LGBT weeks and will force it upon everybody. It feels like you are forced to support it rather than wanting to support it!
I absolutely loved my time at the University of Chichester and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a smaller friendly campus! I've come away with some amazing friends from all different courses, and actually missing my lectures!
I had a great 3 years at the university of Chichester. Loved every second of my time at the university. I felt like I was cared about and wasn't just a number. Also so many clubs and societies on offer. Would 100% recommend this university
Having been at the University of Chichester for just over a year now I have loved every single part of it, the campus has such a community feel and is really easy to get around. The facilities are great, especially the fact that they have gender neutral toilets in most blocks! The university staff are amazing and will go out of their way to make sure that all students have the best university experience possible. Due to the fact that the university is smaller, it gives you so many more opportunities such as working with the students union, working at the university being an ambassador, working on projects, running societies etc etc.
A great tight knit community, welcoming all. Very responsive tutors allowing readily available feedback as soon as possible. Great societies to make friends and socialise to heighten the university experience.
So far I've really enjoyed my time at Chichester Uni, I am currently a second year who is studying Digital Film Production and Screenwriting, and I have found all the resources to be very useful with my studies. The Student Accommodation is really nice, especially Stockbridge as it is close to the town centre and is near many shops which can make life a lot simpler.
My second uni I’ve been to and I love that it is much smaller and therefore more of a community, so there’s less of a chance of slipping through the cracks. It’s also very student focused, which seems obvious but doesn’t always happen, and there’s a big emphasis on inclusivity and mental health awareness. Lecturers are great and often the focus is on discussion and opportunities to learn more, with all of them being available for extra help once a week if you get stuck. Also lots of access to cool facilities like a bouldering wall and other sports equipment through clubs, even though I’m not on a sports course. Haven’t had much contact with careers but still receive regular emails about job opportunities and careers fairs. Overall I really enjoy studying here :)
the quality of teaching at the university of chichester is amazing due to the smaller class sizes and friendly members of staff and has a lovely friendly feel all round campus
Joyful staff, always ready to help Good facilities, wifi and exciting students union
The induction week was quite slow and repetitive however the lecturers did reiterate their support to students needs and requirements which they have shown through the first semester. The facilities at Chichester uni are, I believe, of a standard state and the university hold several socials for the students as well as tonnes of clubs and teams that you can join in with.
This uni is terrible! Lots of problems with no help! Issues with students and lecturers! One lecturer laughed at my work, another said they thought i was clever, and said because I have mental health I’ll do well. I was bullied onsite and offsite - nobody picked this up. A very narrow minded uni! I was made to feel scrutinised and oppressed causing me to have panic attacks at home, in my car, onsite and during lectures.
Really personal, Chichester is a great town
Lovely friendly campus, very secure.
Great experience achieving my Honours course
Good experience overall, a nice town not too big or small and really nice and green
I study at Chichester, it is a safe friendly working environment with experienced tutors who actually have experience in the business world. We are enlightened with real life examples in everything we do here and it is really useful. Both Chichester and Bognor Regis are easily accessible locations and are located in a good area of the country. I would certainly recommend coming to an open day and speaking with the tutors to make your decision.
A fairly small Uni, but they really care about individuals. Such a lovely environment to be in.
It's a good uni, but if you really like student nights honestly go somewhere else. The SU is so small its a waste of time.
Really nice friendly Uni, you always know someone, Zee bar (SU) is great fun. BTW The picture at top is not from Chichester Uni, no idea where you found it lol
The university itself was good, the library was good, a few issues with wifi but not many, the SU was fine and they held some good nights out. The only problem being that Chichester is incredibly boring, there is 1 SU bar and not many places you would want to go in town, no clubs, except in Bognor where there is 1, and even the pubs are a bit dodgy!
Great University, Lovely people. Lovely Campus.
Facilities, students union and clubs are insane especially sports clubs and a Wednesday night
Lots of support for students with additional needs/disabilities. Societies are great and really lovely campus!
Nice sized room, working (mostly) en suite, but no wifi- only ethernet
The Bognor Regis Campus is very small and not a lot of Societies happen on BRC. But the HUB is a good venue if people would use it more often.
Chichester is a lovely town with a lot of different places to go. The university has a lot of opportunities regarding societies and sport teams. The media department is at a extremely good as well :)
Don't go here if you are expecting fireworks
