i mainly do uni work in my room because of my course but when its digital work, i tend to go to the library or cafes. i love the small business cafes around portsmouth

My experience so far here has been really good, I am enjoying my course and the city campus, it is useful that everything is so close together. The students union put on multiple events which are fun and interesting, I haven’t been here much but that is because my degree is so busy, I wish i could attend more events to meet more people. There are SO many different societies which make it so welcoming to so many students, I decided to try self defence and really enjoyed it, the people who teach it are really nice and friendly. Wifi is outstanding anywhere you go you are connected and will not lose connection. I haven’t yet used the career service but have heard good things about it.

I have really enjoyed my experience so far. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and supportive. There’s a lot of events to help make new friends and the uni campus is so high quality with loads of amazing resources to help our studies. The library is also amazing, quiet, clean, available.

Portsmouth university is good but the chancellor is running it into the ground focusing on humanities but no one thinks Portsmouth when the competition is oxford and the like. My course may disappear in the next few years despite it being a well known geology engineering pathway, the leadership is pushing out staff we can't afford to loose. The course head and lecturers are great and knowledgeable.

I really like portsmouth, a coastal city where people are warm and friendly. The infrastructure of the school is perfect and the teachers are also very good. Especially for me as an international student, the teachers have been very patient to help me solve problems even though my English is not very good. The only thing that made me uncomfortable about this study experience was that the rented apartment was in a constant state of renovation and noisy during the day!

Stanley Studios is an amazing place! The space itself is clean, well-maintained, and all round perfect. What really sets it apart is the manager, Andrew. He went above and beyond to help with the move-in process, making everything smooth and stress-free. Super friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about his tenants. You can tell he takes pride in the studio and the community he’s built. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love the atmosphere at this student accommodation! The private rooms are great, and the shared spaces, including the gym, cinema room, and common area, are fantastic. Plus, having our own pool table is a great bonus!

This is my first year at the University of Portsmouth and I’ve had a good time so far, accomodation not too far from class, made some new friends, facilities are good and convenient, lecturers and staff are friendly. Everything has been good so far

100% Overprized, it is not normal the amount of money needed to study in a PUBLIC institution. At the end, economical stress makes that students have to focus more in our mental helth or part time jobs than focusing in our studies. Timetables are aweful, with free gaps between lectures making you waste a lot of time on campus, there is no class assigned to your degree, you have to pivot the whole day between buildings. And for learning languages you are supposed to guess if the language of interest suits in your timetable cause for some reason (called disorganization) they don't have a pre-fixed time. Sincerely, in a uni that costs 10000-30000 pounds a year, these are not things that one would expect nor accept.

I've loved being a student at The University of Portsmouth so far. I've been part of clubs and societies which have been a lot of fun and taught me lots.

Overall, UoP is a great university and I would recommend coming here. Lecturers are a bit hit and miss (as the same with any university I’m sure), but there are vast resources available for students for a variety of uses; I.e. academic support, mental health support, financial support, etc. The careers service couldn’t be more helpful. They are constantly sending emailing of available jobs, placements, post grad work and more, as well as holding many events for students to help widen their employment opportunities and focus on different areas, such as how to improve your CV. There literally is a society/club for everyone here, as well as a great sports centre.

classes. Additionally, the university is very close to the seaside—just a short 10-minute walk to enjoy beautiful coastal views. As a student from China, I was pleasantly surprised to find so many Chinese staff members here. My personal tutor, for example, is also Chinese. Seeing someone from the same country, especially during my first time studying abroad, gave me a strong sense of comfort and connection. Moreover, the faculty members are incredibly friendly and supportive. Even those who are not from China often have experience traveling or teaching in China, and they possess a great understanding of Chinese culture, which I found unexpected and heartwarming.

Portsmouth is great, it gets a bad rep cause of the locals... and expensive halls. That's about it though, you get out what you put in.

I love crown place, I’ve lived here for all my years at university! And the facilities the staff are amazing! The rooms are so nice and well maintained! All the utilities and WiFi is included and it’s great. I can’t remember a single bad experience at crown place, honestly! The location is great it’s like 5 minutes walking so from university campus and it’s in the heart of town, so it’s great.

Campus is so easy to get to, it can be for people who live 5 to 10 mins away, overall the campus is lovely and it’s full of people everyday

I have stayed with Europe house for almost my entire uni life and it was the best decision ever, the staffs in the reception are always so friendly specially Chanika and Heloiza, overall it’s a really good accommodation and if u are student you should really go for it .

Generally a very good uni -Campus is very clean and mostly up to date. Wifi is quite good but patchy on occasion. SU needs work (but theyre sorting it). More clubs/societies with a diverse range of meetups would be nice.

During my time at the University of Portsmouth, I had an incredibly enriching experience both academically and personally. As an international student, my first year in England was a mix of excitement and unfamiliarity. Everything felt new—the culture, the environment, and even the small day-to-day routines. Yeah it's alright tbf, good services and good communication between staff and students, I like it, it's pretty good. Overall I haven't really run into any major issues here, I don't really know what to say, but I like it, I think it's neat

I lived at home during university so ended up missing out on making connections. I joined a society (criminology) to make friends but it was basically just a party all the time and as students we don’t have a lot of money or have classes to go to early so it wasn’t the best experience. Lectures and seminars can sometimes be at awkward times but the information you learn is good. The library is a good space to do your work away from home and distractions however, I found that many other students were quite inconsiderate of others. All together uni was not what I hoped it would be.

I recently booked in a careers advice meeting with Luke Hahn and he was extraordinarily helpful. I have been studying here for almost 4 years and have always received the guidance and help I have needed from multiple different departments including finance, housing and careers.

Overall a good experience, a lot of activities throughout the year to involve students. Outstanding sport facilities, great library. My only complain is that modules don't include field work in my specific area, construction, which I think is important for the subject.

So far uni life here has been wonderful. I love the different facilities that the campus buildings offer (the study areas, cafes, etc). The library is also wonderful and I appreciate the study rooms and other seating as well as the digital catalogue where I can easily find my textbooks. Borrowing a book is quite easy as well. The Union and the clubs that I explored have such helpful members. I like that they offer to assist you if you're new at something and they are patient with you. The lectures on campus have been interesting so far and I appreciate the lecturers' explanations of the different topics; it makes it easy to understand. Another thing that stood out to me was the Careers service, which was a new concept to me. I decided to check them out and the experience was great. I was assisted with applications and given insightful feedback which helped a lot. My overall experience here has been positive and I look forward to a wonderful year at the university.

The Marine Biology building could do with some upgrades, like a new boat. The clubs seem good but I didn't really engage with them, regrettably.
