Chaucer House Biography
Chaucer House is home to more than 480 students and offers modern accommodation in a central location. The residence is set beside Portsmouth and Southsea rail station making your commutes as easy as can be. Getting to class will also be a breeze as Portsmouth's Guildhall campus is a mere ten-minute walk away. There is a Tesco nearby and Cascades Shopping Centre is ten minutes away while Gunwharf Quays is only a fifteen-minute walk away for all your shopping needs.
Chaucer House shares its entrance and reception with neighbouring Margaret Rule Hall, so you can socialise with neighbours in one of the two common rooms full of sofas, armchairs and tables. When focusing on your studies and burning the midnight oil, you can make use of the study room and convenient vending machines. You can skip your gym membership as there is a gym onsite.
The residence has a selection of stylishly designed en-suite rooms and studios to choose from. Each room has been purposefully designed and is equipped with all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay. The studios provide more privacy whilst the en-suite rooms have shared kitchens and living spaces, creating a more sociable environment.

I have had the best experience living at Chaucer house portsmouth, the staff are amazing. They are always there to help you with anything.
Very good only fault is the maintenance could be quicker in regards to the importance however I do understand everyone is human.

Ping Pong tournament was a blast. It was really well run and the staff, Cam and Tom helping at the event were amazing. Definitely do more of these, it was so much fun.

I’m not a social person so I haven’t been to the social events and areas but I have herd good things from others. Staff are lovely and will sort any issues in record time I always smell the scent of lemon cleaning solution when I leave for morning classes and over all this has been the best student accommodation I have stayed in here at Portsmouth

Amazing help from all staff, I’ve had emergency were Kyle helped me. Also in a very difficult situation James were able to help me switch flats. And if I ever have a question I know I can just ask in the reception. I always feel welcomed!

It is really comfortable and cozy at chaucer house. The location is convenient for everything. The staff is super helpful and friendly. James is very sweet and helpful. He helps whenever we have any issue with maintenance and makes sure that it is done in time. Other unite students staff is amazing and helpful too.

Chaucer house is very homely and the location is very good as all the transportation is close, and commercial road. The unite students staff is amazing, helpful and friendly. James helped me a lot when i had some inconvenience with the maintenance.

I love the design of the rooms here, it's so convenient as it's right near the university as well as the town and it comes with so many facilities such as gym and study spaces!

I attended the ESports LAN event held at Chaucer House on the 29th, which was so fun and very well organised! The staff I talked to on my way in were really helpful, and Dan especially was very kind and explained about the society. Also good to know Chaucer House had good wifi to host a whole event, and I liked the room we were in a lot.

The reception staff are extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. They have responded to every maintenance request I’ve made within the hour. They are always polite and always manage to help. Would recommend. The rooms are very nice and a decent size

I have stayed in Chaucer House for the summer. Can't fault my stay in any way. Staff member named James was very helpful and polite throughout my check in and checking out process, and any other queries I had during my stay.

Accommodation was over priced for the room sizes in my opinion, however social spaces and building management made it an alright option in the end
I lived in a studio flat and really liked this option. The upper floors are decently quiet which you will appreciate if you are like me.
Good place but value for money is poor as there are cheaper places that offer more but everything else is fine
Awful awful awful. The staff at Chaucer know nothing about hospitality and safe guarding. They’re rude and patronising, definitely don’t recommend.
