Very good for studious it’s very comfortable and silent
This accomodation is in a very convenient location and has the basic facilities for a student.
Good for first year met nice people Close to Uni and the center
I've been living here since September whilst in my first year. The location is great, literally across the road from the university, 5 minutes from clubs, bars, and restaurants. The room space is decent and the kitchen is okay. However, in all honestly, they're about the only good things. The lift stopped working for around 2 months, got fixed, worked for like a week then stopped working again, which was ridiculous. Our TV did not work when we moved in and it took ages to get fixed, after loads in-person and emails from everybody in my flats. People's fridge and freezers stopped working. It takes ages for anything to get fixed here. Often silverfishes in the bathroom, despite doing all the preventive measures. Was told it was to do with the actual physical building. The washing and drying price are quite high compared to most other accommodations. Lastly, we've had room checks, 'inventory' updates, & just plenty of times having the staff come in our rooms which felt quite invasive.
Goldsmith Court is right in the doorstep on the NTU City Campus making it the perfect distance for private accommodation, however the lack of social spaces and outdated facilities causes a problem for the socialising
The location is great, right in front of Newton Building and is 5-7 minutes far from city center. You have Victoria Center less than 3 minutes and many clubs, social places and green parks like Arboretum and Recreation ground Forest. The staff is really helpful and nice you can ask anything, they will help you in no time. Some problems that I faced this year are no vacuum cleaners enough for everyone, there is a problem with keeping clean around the accommodation and there are no enough CCTV cameras if something happens on the halls of apartments. There have been some experiences that I faced with fire alarm being turn off at 3-5 am for 1 h for few nights and they still don't know who did it because there are no security cameras on that view. The studios are kinda far away of laundry room and reception and is not effective for anyone. There is almost no sunlight but a nice view with a nice terrace. The rooms are not cleaned properly before moving in, at least mine wasn't.
Security Guard falls asleep on night duty and does absolutely nothing to help any of us or keep any of us safe at night. The lift hasn’t worked since September 2021 (Now end of November 2021). Mould in accommodation. Fridges are unstable and don’t function properly. Silverfish in bathrooms since my first day.
This year has been atrocious. Since moving in in September the accomodation has been a real chore to live in, the lift has been broken since september, it was reset and residents were allowed to use it depsite the fact it was clearly unsafe. 28/11/21 a resident got stuck in the lift for many hours, people tried to call the night staff but they were nowhere to be found despite being in the building doing god knows what, fire service had to be called and even they could not open the god-forsaken lift. numerous things in the flat have broken, fridges, hot water, ovens. It is clear that the accomodation is just old, like a dying hospital patient, everything is shutting down. I am not sure if there is a cleaner, but the accomodation is regularly dirty and smells quite bad, partly due to drunken individuals and overflowing bins, but also lack of cleaning. price is moderate and it is right next to the university. staff are mostly friendly apart from the new night staff who are clueless.
Room size is good, kitchen space is adequate, location is perfect, but so far my experience at Goldsmith Court has been miserable. The lift has not worked at all since being here and it wasn’t even turned off when it was breaking (it would drop on the second floor), so was literally a safety hazard. It’s now been weeks of having no lift, which, being on the 5th floor, has caused me to have an asthma flare up. The TV in our kitchen also doesn’t work, and it took weeks of us complaining for the staff to actually do anything, and even then it’s still not been fixed. Fire alarms go off at stupid times of the morning and we are told it’s because they are faulty. Maintenance staff tend to just walk in to the room/flat without knocking. Any emails I send asking about when things will be fixed have been ignored. I wouldn’t recommend living here.
I have been living here for a month and the lift has been working for approx 5 days out of the total time I’ve been here (I wish i was exaggerating), considering the fact there is 6 floors this is quite outrageous how long it has taken to be fixed, especially when it comes to food shopping and laundry. Furthermore, my flatmate has asthma and every time they walk upstairs to our flat, they have to use their pump. In addition, our tv hasn’t worked since being here and myself and my flatmates have asked multiple times about it being fixed and if there is any updates and every time we just get told that the manager will be reminded. However room sizes and kitchen sizes are decent.
The rooms are reasonable size and the kitchen is fine. However lift has been broken basically since we’ve been here it’s unfair as some people on the top floors have asthma and have struggled. Our tv also doesn’t work despite asking several times via email and in person, annoying because the other flats TVs seem to work.
This accommodation is very good. The rooms are basic but liveable and are perfect for the student on an undergraduate loan. The staff are kind, helpful and courteous and are always prepared to go out of their way to help. The Wi-fi does drop occasionally but you can get all devices you have on it. Located right across the road from Chaucer Building this accommodation is perfectly located to get you to all classes on time and with minimal hassle. The kitchens can get a bit crowded. Enough space for all your books. The Laundry is adequate but expensive (£3 washer and £1.50 dryer) they are cashless. Would recommend this accommodation - Plus, they give away tons of chocolate... Hope this helps - A book reading, TV watching, hermit Criminologist
Great value for money, close to NTU campus and amenities all around. And the rooms are pretty good too! Highly recommend
Goldsmiths has been a great place to stay for the first year of university and the staff have always been very helpful. Craig in particular had a great bond with most students and is someone regarded highly within the accommodation. I think that basic necessities such as bins on the terrice would be greatly appreciated and more of a fast response to student complaints and maintenance etc. Other than that, I have had a great year here.
as a first year student, of course this year has been difficult for everyone. Yet, goldsmiths has managed to capture the first year vibes that all first year students want. Not least to mention Craig, yes a night guard, but still a friend, any issue, he’s the easiest to talk to. High praises to him.
Goldsmith Court is honestly an amazing place to stay. It has made my first year at university very pleasurable and I wouldn't change it at all. The building is very clean, well kept and welcoming. The staff are all very friendly, especially Craig who is always there to lend a helping hand when needed without question. I would wholly recommend this accommodation to anyone who may be questioning what accommodation to stay in for university.
Lovely Staff ! brilliant location
I had a great experience in spite of Covid pandemic and the staff were great and helpful.

Thanks so much for your 5* review :-) I think we can all agree it has been a very challenging year and we are so happy that you have still enjoyed your time with us. We do have an awesome team at Goldsmith Court and we really appreciate your lovely review. Goldsmith Court Team

Absolutely love the staff - all so friendly and helpful. Love my room and bathroom, it’s so nice having my own en suite and proper shower.

Hey :-) Awww thanks so much, the team at Goldsmith Court really are an awesome bunch! We are so happy that you love your accommodation as much as we do, dont forget to book for September 2021 ;-) Goldsmith Court Team
Prime location for students studying in Newton building, it is right next to it and you will meet many other students. The staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly, but the social spaces are lacking. The rooms could be a bit more modernised, however, any issues you may have will be dealt with swiftly.

Hi! Many thanks for your review. We totally agree, the location is amazing and doesnt take much effort to wake up and get to your lectures on time, you couldn't be any closer! We know that things can go wrong from time to time and its great to hear that our site team react swiftly to make your stay comfortable. We really do have an awesome team at Goldsmith Court :-) Goldsmith Court Team
Good location. Rooms are a little smaller than expected. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hey Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for us. Awww apologies that you didn't find your room to be as spacious as you would like, we do hope you took full advantage of the large storage space under the bed :-) Its great to hear the positive feedback for the team at Goldsmith Court, they really do work hard to make everyones stay an enjoyable one. Have a great rest of the year with us. Goldsmith Court Team
I love my apartment and the space I have created for myself. Socialising is very hard at the moment with Covid however the staff have made me feel very welcome here. Everything is clean and everyone is very friendly. The staff are honestly one of my favourite parts about living here (apart from the size of my room and my view!) as they are always so kind and helpful. Whenever I have had any kind of issue the staff has always been there to help (especially Rebecca and Danielle) and I’m very thankful for that! The fact that the building is safe and there is always security was very reassuring when I first moved in and still proves to be amazing. Very happy with my stay & would definitely recommend to both freshers and returning students!

What a lovely review and thanks very much :) Our Facilities Assistants are a huge asset to the team with their knowledge and chirpy personalities! We have them on site 24/7 too so there is always someone at Goldsmith Court to react to anything that can happen, which as you say hopefully goes a long way to making you feel safe here. Yep, the team are pretty amazing and the feedback we get is invaluable, these comments really does make us feel proud of the work we do for all of our residents. Thanks again and have a fab rest of the year with us! Goldsmith Court team :)
Great experience staying here, location is amazing and so is the staff, so kind, helpful and try their best to make the experiencefun and exciting. Only issues I found were that one of the benches on the terrace stayed broken for ages (but tbf with corona maybe they didn't think they needed to fix it) and the WiFi was a bit weak at certain times like late at night. But compared to other accommodations at the same price I thought it was great, would definitely recommend staying here!

Hi There What a lovely review and thanks very much :) Yes we like to get things fixed as quick as we possibly can, unfortunately somethings take a little longer! I am sure you have tried out our new, colourful and improved benches out on the terrace :-) These were much needed, especially now we have some awesome weather! Goldsmith Court really is value for money and we are super happy that you chose to stay with us this year and love that you would recommend us to others. Don't forget to rebook for 21/22 :) Goldsmith Court Team
I originally wanted a university owned accommodation but they are very expensive for what they are and I feel goldsmith's is way cheaper for the same thing. The rooms are great, the bathrooms are great the kitchens are mixed sizes. So the sizes vary which is annoying because they don't show you all the kitchen sizes just the bigger ones with the curved windows.

Hey Thanks so much for your review. You are completely right, we may be cheaper than others but that defo doesn't reflect the service we offer. We have an amazing dedicated team on site 24/7 who really do impact our residents journey. Our kitchens do vary in size due to the occupancy per flat and sometimes the positioning within the property can determine the shape unfortunately. However we are more than happy to share photos, videos or viewings of the flat kitchen to make sure you are happy with your choice before you arrive :) If you are planning on staying with us again please let us know and we happily show you around other flats within the accomodation. Goldsmith Court Team
I love staying here, it is really close to everything you need, shops, the University, Clubs and bars all within a few minutes walk. The staff are friendly and helpful. Also, everything is safe and secure and you need a key card to get to any of the rooms so you know no one can get in if they are not supposed to.

What a lovely review and thanks very much :) Our team at Goldsmith Court are extremely friendly and helpful, which as you say hopefully goes a long way to making you feel safe here. As for location, you really couldn't be closer to the University, only downside is that there are no excuses for turning up late to your lessons !! Thanks again and have a fab rest of the year with us! Goldsmith Court team :)
Goldsmiths court has been great. The room is lovely, with nice facilities. The location is ideal, right in town and very close to everything! The reception team are always very cheerful and happy to help. The WiFi has been great for online lectures and work. The kitchen facilities are brilliant and the building is always kept clean. If you ever have an issue reception are quick to fix it! All round a great experience?1

Hey Thanks so much for your lovely review. Yep, the team are pretty amazing and the feedback we get is invaluable, these comments really does make us feel proud of the work we do for all of our residents. We are so glad that you found our wifi to be great, needless to say it has definitely been worked harder this year! As for location, you really couldn't be closer to the University, only downside is that there are no excuses for turning up late to your lessons !! ;) Thanks again and have a fab rest of the year with us! I loved my time at Goldsmiths!

Thanks for your great review! We do try to be as helpful as we can as we know that living away from your home for the first time or any time, can be difficult! So whether it is making sure your heating is working properly so you are nice and toasty, to popping down for a cup of tea and biscuit if you need a chat, we are always around to make you feel at home! Thanks again and have a great rest of the year! Goldsmith Court Team
Small kitchen, should have a common area for everyone and 24h security

Hey there There have been alot of changes at Goldsmith court including 24/7 cover by our very own site team. I am sorry you found your kitchen to be small when you stayed with us, kitchens will reflect how many people occupy the flat. If you are still studying, feel fee to reach out and we can help you book for 2021/ 2022 :) Goldsmith Court Team
