Wellington St Plaza is an amazing accommodation especially if you are a business school student as it is only a 2 minute walk to lectures. The accommodation itself is great, the kitchen and lounge area are good social areas to cook and socialise with flatmates, the rooms are a decent size and have a good ensuite. The accommodation is close to the city centre so you never have to pay for taxis on a night out. There is also a tesco express located 2 minutes away with is very convenient. Overall, I love wellington st plaza, its great value for money and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Newcastle as a first year student.

Nice and modern accommodation in the city centre, close to campus and town.
I stayed with them last year and I had the best experience. I came back this year and checked into a different room. The bathrooms were barely cleaned. it was my first day in that room and the bathroom was full of scums and there were hair which was clearly not mine(I can know from the length and the tickness). After checking the bathroom I wiped the closet and the shelves in my room. It was an absolutely horror. The shelves in the shower is rusty, they changed the lighting last year but it is still not bright enough. Yellow lights made the room old and creepy. Apart from that, I am in absolute love with the staff. They are always kind, welcoming and fast. They always try to help.
Robbie Safety was very helpful with me on my first day when my luggage went missing. He took a lot of initiative and helped me get it back.
Super helpful and kind staff, especially when our oven in B61 decided to shatter! Replaced the next morning and everyone was helpful about it. Love it so much I have rebooked for another year and would recommend to anyone!
Overall happy but security poor
Great accommodation for first year. Rooms are perfect, location is excellent and having a 24/7 help desk is extremely useful. Recommend highly
Great place to live, location is perfect for uni and the staff are exceptional. Made my first year even more enjoyable :))
Excellent location (only a 10-15 minute walk from the main Newcastle university campus) brilliant staff, comfortable and good sized rooms (and kitchen), feels safe, good bathrooms, would definitely recommend
I really love to live at Plaza, the location is great, my flatmates are cool and the dynamics of the community are fun and entertaining, I’m at flat 24, hope to win :3
banging place to live, right next to tescos, would defo recommend.
Greta location for reasonable prize worth what you get included.
A nice flat to live with plenty of space for living a great university location and events that allow for a more community feel
Everything is okay but fire alarm and heat is bad enough to give a 1star/5
Good location Help is always available Maintenance is always swift when required.
It’s a nice place to live and pretty near university.
Nice en suite rooms with a large and well equipped kitchen - flat 24
In a great location as it’s right next to the city centre and not too far from the uni campus
I really enjoy the location of Wellington st plaza, it’s really close to town and between the university. It’s always quite aswell
Amazing staff, friendly and helpful. Great place to live would throughly recommend.
Perfect location for the business school and really close to town and the football ground.
Good good good good nice nice nice
This accom has good sized rooms and a big kitchen/living room area with many appliances. It’s located close to the city centre and is not far from the main uni campus
i love wellington, the staff are lovely, there is always fun activities hosted. it is a lovely community i’m glad to be part of.
The accommodation is amazing and worth the money. The wifi is amazing and the room spaces and bathroom spaces are phenomenal.
Really really helpful staff and always there to offer help whenever I needed it!
Great place to live, friendly staff who always make you feel welcome, very convenient location for the university and city centre
The room is a good size, having a big desk is great for space and there’s plenty of storage. But it’s not close to the main newcastle university campus
Great location and social life, always clean with friendly staff who are always willing to help.
Wellington St Plaza is in such a good location! Have loved living here in my first year.
I have lived in D67 for the last 2 years. It is a studio and it was pretty good when I first moved in 2 years ago. The room was very spacious and the room was in good condition when I moved in. Since then I have had multiple issues with silverfish and other bugs in my room. These bugs have been on the floor, my desk, the sink and hob. They have called pest control but I am still having issues, which have been going on for months now. I am still seeing bugs, and considering the amount of times I have reported the problem, it is very disappointing.
Great for economics or business students as you could roll out of bed into your lecture hall. 10 mins to main campus and town. Big bed, en suites. Nice place
I love wellys because is is the best location of all newcastle accoms and is very social.
Good location, although can get noisy during matches. It was very clean when we arrived and the common area is also kept well. the recent change to the rubbish disposal is also a great step towards a more sustainable accommodation. I would love to see food waste bins in the flats perhaps, and although this is a huge idea maybe some solar panel could be fitted. the tops of each block receive a lot of sunlight and i’m sure in the long run it would save you a lot of money!
The location is brilliant as it’s right in centre and for value of money is really good. However I’ve had a broken window for a while and they arnt able to fix it
Location for anything in the city is perfect, nights out, shopping, uni. Staff are always helpful
Great location, close to business school at Newcastle and so close to city. Lovely staff, very well run.
pretty cool, good location, bants people, better than leazes
i’ve loved my time in wellington, think the locations for uni and for nights out is amazing ( the walk home from town goes through all the takeaways it’s very well planned) Only issues i would say is sometimes the wifis works intermittently and the courtyard is sometimes full of rubbish. Thanks so much :)))
Great location, staff, and internet
Overall it is a good value for money, it is difficult to be social in block D when all of the other flats on the floor are just studios - with people who tend to want to be on their own - so I feel like we haven’t been able to interact as well as other accommodations. Great view though.
Really lovely staff and nice buildings. Would definitely recommend to a friend
Overall a pleasant experience the only things I would add is that the cupboard space in kitchens is not the same in each flat
Personally I’m so happy I was placed in this accom through my uni accom choices. Everyone’s really helpful both maintenance and the front desk. The room and bill included deal that comes with it is worth it.
An amazing place to stay for your first year of University. A good location not too far away from the centre of town and also near a metro station.
major slay, location is good, can walk to all amenities - flat A08
Great accommodation if your on a budget as it is quite dirty and cold but overall the staff are really nice and the room view is lovely all maintence is solved quickly a apart from broken glass window
Generally very good accom with great internet other than the fact that latency jumps to hundreds every few days
Perfect location, especially as my lectures are in the business school, very nice bedrooms and large kitchen/ living area

Very good accomodation nice and clean with good size bedrooms and nicely designed bathrooms
wellington has been a great place to stay - it’s the ideal location and so modern and nicely furnished !
Great location as close to town so great for nights out.
Good value for money and good location to city centre, a bit further from the uni than some other accommodation but still only 15 min, however no cleaning services like others also (Flat C79).
decent accom, warm well placed, flat 70
Solid place to stay, reasonable sized rooms and good for socialising with those living around you and on your floor
Lived here for 2 years. Everything was perfect.
Great location and facilities. Staff are friendly and always happy to help
Great location so near to all the shops in city centre. Good size rooms and kitchens for the price we pay.
Nice location and accom but not very social.
Personally I would tell my friends about this properties it’s so nice and perfect designed
Great value for money, perfectly situated between the university and city centre, with an amazing team of staff and facilities.
Class service, class rooms perfect position for footy
The fact that parcels can be taken at night is a plus
It is very central and good quality. Maintenance is also very prompt which is helpful and is sorted within the next days after complaining.
It’s alright. Like the wifis crao and some staff r super lovely. The lifts are tempormental and if sth breaks it’ll be broken all term. Kitchens FREEZING no heating. The laundry situation is embarrassing tho I wld advise them to bun off circuit as I’d rather wear dirty pants for a month than shell out a fiver to pay for a tiny washing machine which barely cleans my clothes and the dryers which blatantly don’t work.
This is an honest review from the student who has been living on block D since the mid of Sept. Pros: - The location - next to NCL’s computing and business school and only 10 mins walk to city center and the main campus - Studio rooms are large with big windows Cons: - no kitchen hood - fair enough that it’s not showed from the website but if you live in studios prepare to sleep like you are in the kitchen - in block D Out of service elevator - since the first day I arrived and still. Ofcuz, there is the other one but it’s obvious that is not enough for students * the security issue should be concerned ** CCTV only at the ground floor *** in block D No staff at all time*** there are no staffs at the reception on this block. They asked to wait for another 3 months to allocate some staffs here. A robbery happened in the first week but right now students still have to wait for a staff and pray
the building is fairly clean but the lifts and corridors are a bit scruffy at times but that’s just how students can be. staff are more than lovely and always happy to chat and help at reception. the common room is big and good to chill in and parcels are usually kept safe at reception unless small enough to fit into letter box. there are some major negatives i found: there is only 5 washers and 5 dryers for the whole of my block so a lot of the time it’s really hard to get one so it’s best to go super early or super late. feels like there is ALWAYS something broken in the flats wether it be a lift, a door or a washer and it can be really annoying. there is also constantly maintenance emails needing access to all bedrooms and it gets really really uncomfortable at times as a girl knowing men who have keys to your flat are basically coming in every month (even though they are always nice it’s still a worry). overall it does the job but i couldn’t live there for long than i did
nothing to complain about in terms of the accommodation itself - staff and maintenance are great, rooms are nice and quite soundproof unless the noise is coming from inside your own flat, wifi works really well (apart from when it randomly goes out without notice). the only and main thing is location. the 15 minute walk to campus seems fine but it gets really annoying after a while. it can also be quite isolating and take away from the social experience when all your friends live together in on-campus accommodation (as most people at newcastle tend to do) - especially bad if you’re a girl as it’ll lead to a lot of late night walks home on your own. the area around wellington isn’t the worst but also isn’t the best, a girl got mugged just outside a few weeks ago which was quite frightening. being right next to st james’ park it’s also a nightmare on match days, if you don’t time leaving right you can barely leave at all.

Really enjoyed living at Unite… Really enjoyed living at Unite Students, Wellington Street Plaza. Staff are really helpful and friendly, and the facilities are great for first year students. I would definitely recommend living here :)

Thank you so much for you lovely review! We have a lot of first year students on site so it's great to find new friends when do our on site events! So close to the City centre, Business school and Computer science building Plaza is a great location :)
Generally okay, many maintenance issues although they are generally fixed in a timely manner - still frustrating though.

Great student accommodation in the perfect area for getting to lectures and getting into town. Staff are polite and friendly. And the rooms are great, spacious and have high standard finished!

We appreciate the time you have taken to leave this review thanks very much 😃 Team Plaza love having the students on site and are always here to help/ have a chat!
I've been living here for 3 months now and really enjoy my experience. The maintenence team are very efficient and the reception staff are super helpful. I wasn't sure about it when I was first assigned here but they really exceeded expectations. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you Holly 😊 This is a lovely review! Will make sure the maintenance team see this, they are always on hand to help where needed!
pretty good i like it banging accomodation
Excellent experience, couldn’t have found a better place to live for my first year of uni.
The team at wellington are amazing. Maintenance is always speedy when fixing things. I had suffered an unjustly while staying at Wellington and the welfare team came and checked in on me regularly to see if I needed any support and always assured me that they would help if needed
Management team where very helpful and friendly when requesting a room change.
Super central halls about 5 minute walk from bars and 10/15 to campus. Good mix of people and super social experience. Covid meant the common room was shut all year but still managed to meet a lot of people around the accom. Wifi can go down for a day the odd time but is always fixed the next day. Same can be said for any maintenance issues which are usually fixed by super friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of storage but the carpets are a but gross and hard to clean. Shared spaces are cleaned often but flat interiors have to be cleaned by the tenants, for which there is some equipment provided like mop and broom. I was sceptical about wellington when I first got it because it wasn’t one of my options but I loved it and would recommend!
