If you are coming to uni with the aim of getting any sort of work done, then don’t stay here. The walls are paper thin, you can literally hear parties in other blocks which will keep you up all night. I’m actually writing this review at 4am whilst being kept awake by one of them now. The window does nothing to block out sound and mine lets in a slight draft. The room was in a sad state when I first moved in, especially the bathroom which had what appeared to be a small turd on the floor. The shower, sink plug and towel rail were all broken. The wifi also seems to go down every couple of weeks which can be annoying if you have online classes to attend. The only good thing about this place is it’s location, everything is within a 10 minute walk and the surrounding area is nice. Although, I wouldn’t say this is a redeeming factor as there are 3 other student accommodations built literally within a few meters of this one. Please make the right decision and stay elsewhere.
Because I lived in shared flat, it depended on the flatmates. The hall management won’t clean the flat kitchen, it all depends on how you and your flat mates are responsible for cleaning, to have comfortable living area. Price is good for its room size. The price is slightly cheaper when you apply individually (not through university for 1st year students); the room won’t run out although they’re booked fully at the start of the course, don’t worry.
Perfect location with various supermarkets and Chinatown near by, walking distance to uni. Excellent staffs that are really friendly and help you 24hrs. They’ll keep any deliveries for you. Rooms are nice furnished, modern and clean. I got medium large room and it’s great for the value. The storage under the bed, and large shelf on the desk are really helpful. I just got wrong flatmates but cannot move my room since most properties here at same prices are fully occupied. The kitchen might be small for 6people, especially when you have untidy, non-respectful flatmates. (No space after they use!!) The shower head is not movable so you may find it hard to wash your body tbh. Laundry has good system with Circuit.com. Easy to use and they have enough amounts. The common room is not big as what they show on the website, and it’s really small so cannot expected be like “everyone-welcome” This hall is located with other accommodation buildings, and a stadium=noise!
Very nice halls and very good value for money. Located very close to town so very handy after a night out and only a 10min walk to uni. Everyone is very friendly and it’s a very social accommodation that offers many free things throughout the year such as breakfast and other seasonal snacks. Rooms are nice and modern and have been renovated recently.
I've loved my time @ Plaza. The rooms are modern and light and have everything you need. The common room is good to hangout and play pool etc. The only thing I would change would be the staff. Miserable doesn't come close!!
Just not all that!! The rooms are tiny and you can tell they were cheap to build! It feels cramped, there's not that much storage. Block D, is a bit shabby, the kitchens are gross and worn. For the price you're paying you can something so much better for cheap, like you'd at least expect a free gym for £135 per week! Yes it has security, but be careful because block D doesn't feel that secure since there isn't security specifically at that reception 24/7, so just about anybody can get in if they hang around long enough. So in all the rooms are cramped and dated and overly not worth the money you pay. And plus it seems secure but really isn't.
Nice rooms, and ideal location. However the price for washing your clothes is outrageous. It costs £2.80 per wash. In comparison, Castle Leases charge £1.10 for the same washing machine system. Also the price you pay is very expensive, the newer 'Verde' next door is up to £20 cheaper per week, for the same quality of flat. On the plus side the location is brilliant with town and uni only a 10 minute walk.
Although this accommodation is fairly pricey, it is fantastic! Less than 2 minutes from Rosie's and a short walk to Queens' Park Campus it is fantastic! Self-contained studios are perfect for when you want your own space but also nice and big to have all your friends around. Not to mention the common room with a pool table, jenga, connect 4, PS4 and Sky TV.
