I moved in to Liberty Quay in September 2019. It's an amazing place to stay, the staff are friendly and my flatmates are great, 3 girls and 2 boys. However, sadly I have had to withdraw from university and return home and am looking for someone to take over my tenancy which finishes 18/07/2020. it is an en-suite room with a double bed and shared kitchen. There is also an on site gym, laundry room and social spaces. The original price is £108 per week however I am willing to reduce this price to £90 a week as I need it gone. All bills are included in this price. Please do get in touch if you are interested or have any questions.
Been staying here for a month now as I started studying at Northumbria! Lovely place to stay, and I have lovely flatmates! I unfortunately am dropping out of uni for several reasons so if you are looking for a room let me know! My room is £125 a week but it is deluxe en-suite and also includes a TV(with TV license) as well as a fridge for your food, so very worth the money. Its got plenty of storage places and still very spacious with a big double bed! The actual complex of the accomdodations is safe (locked gates etc) as well as having an on-site gym that's included in your room price. Really recommend the place for anyone thinking about staying here, and if you are looking for a room now, there is mine!
Absolutely love living at Studios! Staff are super friendly and know everyone by first name, which makes you feel like they care a bit more than other places. If I have any problems, I feel totally comfortable with approaching them. My room is spacious, bright and genuinely feels like a home away from home. Lots of storage spaces and modern facilities. Before moving in, I was worried that by living in a Studio, I wouldn't make any friends however this was far from true. Liberty Quay hold free events for all residents, every few weeks. These can be as simple as a pizza social night or as elaborate as having creepy crawlies and bushtucker trials as part of their 'I'm a student, get me out of here" themed night. Location is great - only a 5min walk to Northumbria's Business/Law school. Overall 5/5 accommodation. I have lived here for 2 years and have already rebooked for my final year!
Made some amazing friends living here, rooms are nice, even the classic rooms are a good size, not far from Uni at all and handy for nights out. rebooked for next year and chose a premium room. the housekeepers and maintenance man are so lovely and the office staff so helpful.
Living here for my 1st year and booked again for my 2nd year. Location is amazing, it's only a few minutes walk to the business school and town and there's shops nearby too. Everyone is always really friendly here and it's a good place to meet friends! There's a gym too so that saves a bit of money. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone studying in Newcastle :)
I've lived here for 3 years. I've enjoyed my stay here. The location is great, rent is fairly priced and staff are lovely (from reception to security guards to cleaning ladies to maintenance). The rooms are comfy, well heated, spacious, good water heaters in the shower. Maintenance fixes things real quick if something isn't working right. There's also a cute little gym (that's free!) on site, getting laundry done and disposing of trash isn't a hassle as it's all on site. I'd recommend Liberty Quay to students, it's a great place to live :)
My stay at Liberty Quay throughout 2017/18 has been great! The facilities are all new and clean, and the location is very central, just 5 mins walk to Northumbria uni, and a maximum 15 min walk to get pretty much anywhere in the city. My classic en-suite room was just £99 a week which is quite a decent price for all the facilities available, including the free gym, which, while not the biggest, has all the equipment I need for my workouts. The staff in the reception are friendly but could maybe improve a bit on customer service. However, the maintenance staff are really the best and most friendliest, especially Joanna and Dave, who are extremely nice! The laundry is quite costly at £2.80 for a wash and £1.30 for a dry, but this is more to do with Circuit laundry than Liberty Quay itself, I suppose. Overall, a great place to stay, would definitely recommend to people!
As a Masters Student I was worried about heading back into halls and being stuck with loads of freshers, however it was useful being able to specify (in the application process) that I didn't want to live with those starting their university journey and so I opted for 3rd year students and above (i.e...fellow postgrad students). I've had no issues with my room and very rarely needed maintenance but if I ever I made a maintenance request the response was always quick and efficient. It was also nice to have a slightly larger room with a small double bed My only negative point is the fact that there needs to be a far better laundry system. This is the first time I've lived in accommodation where there was no washing machine in the flat and the sheer expense of the laundry system (especially as a postgrad)is ridiculous. The machines don't wash particularly well as a 40 minute cycle is not enough, especially at £2.80 per wash. Overall though, I've been happy with everything else.
Well priced, really secure and close to Uni, En suite rooms really nice and management always try their best to help with any problems. good options to live with friends that you make in first year. we choose our new flat early and got a great view of the Tyne. about a 7 min walk to uni.
Loved my time here, staff were so kind and helpful, the office staff were always happy, free gym was great and some fun social events, fob system sometimes didn't work but staff always helped when we needed. would advise any student to stay here, great price as well!
On two occasions entry has been made to my room to check the firealarms, with an email being sent an hour before. Far below the 24 hour notice set out in the contract. The rooms are good and modern , however the light is far too bright and feels like a doctors waiting room.
Absolutely terrible people and the most unhelpful staff, I made an agreement with a tenant to take over her tenancy and she was kind enough to let it to me for £100 pw instead of £133 and paid the difference herself. And the girl quickly made the £1600 difference to the agent. I called the agents and booked an appointment with the them for the following day (from Leeds ) to go sign the contract and they emailed me and the tenant that I'll be the replacement tenant. I was on the coach to Newcastle literally 20mins away, they called me and said that they gave the studio flat to somebody else because somebody else out Of nowhere FOUND OUT that the previous tenant had made the £1600 payment and came this morning and signed the contract. This was sooo shady of them. They were so rude to me when i went there to speak to them. The previous tenant had no idea that they rented the flat to someone else. They were literally lying to my face. Do NOT recommend at all
Fantastic accomodation, very modern and clean. In terms of location it's about 2 minute walk to Northumbria university and 10 minute walk to Newcastle university. There is a gym on site. The only negative things I can say is that the price is not the cheapest but if you have a part time job and your loan you'll be fine. The waashibg machine facility however is awful and stained my clothes with rust, and also very expensive.
This place is amazing for if you want your own space. It's a 10 min walk to the city centre and nearest clubs, and a 10 min walk to Northumbria Uni with Newcastle just across the road. Everyones extremely friendly here - including the staff. It's definitely a place for peace and quiet if you don't like too much interaction but you always in a position to socialise down in the common room which have different nights (like pizza nights or parties), whilst including having a PS4, ping pong table and pool table. You have 4 washers and dryers which is pretty much enough for how many people live here; just don't go on weekends. The only problem is the free wifi you connect to isn't that great, however you can pay for a better one if you're up to it. I highly recommend this place!
Pretty terrible. Stayed over summer, within a week your room feels like a prison. It's clean and the furniture is nice but there's floodlights like a doctor's room, the windows are portholes with a film over the surface to prevent light getting in and carpets are black. 7 rooms have a common room and kitchen which is okay, with a sofa and a good TV. When I first checked in, I wasn't shown the main common room, refuse location, laundry system, gym facilities (now revoked). Nothing! Further, there's not much green space or even a decent view and you feel oftentimes like you're in a car-park. Laundry is £2.50 per wash, £1.20 per dry and the laundry system is a huge hassle to use. Topping up online and scanning machines and buying cards. The halls common room has a football table but is made terrible by the joint laundry room. (Who thought that was a good idea?!) The ONLY saving grace is it's location by the Quay. STAY AWAY.
The noise levels in this pace are ridiculous. Contractors arrive before 8am and start their banging, shouting and other loud noises. The studios are poorly laid out. They can get very hot in summer but the window hardly opens, there is no ventilation and it's not ideal to sleep with the window open because of the noise levels (other than contractors people stand outside shouting at ridiculous hours). So you are basically trying to sleep in a green house with no fresh air. In addition, the window is next to the bed, which makes it bright because the blinds are useless. The washing machines always stink because people close it after using it, which means your clean freshly washed clothes end up stinking. The social aspects are poor. Even when the contractors are gone I do not recommend this place.
All throughout my stay there has been renovation works going on so often waking up to loud drilling and heavy objects being moved around. There is constant works going on outside and overall liberty quay feels like a prison and I pay the most out of all my friends £124 a week for a single bed, very overpriced and a good 10minute walk away to uni as opposed to most only being 2-5 minutes. Would not recommend even after the renovation has been done
A lot of things need to be updated (appliances, bathrooms) and also the gate at the front is a pain if you have lots of bags and there is very rarely a guard to open the big gate. Otherwise it's a good place to live in terms of location etc.
