Mill Point Biography
Mill Point is centrally located and is within a fifteen-minute walk from the University of Manchester & Manchester Metropolitan University. If you are studying at UCFB then you’re in luck as the campus is only a thirty-minute walk away. Rooms have been exclusively reserved for UCFB students and can be booked via their website. On your doorstep, you have Picadilly station, the city centre, Spinningfields, the Central Retail District, Manchester Cathedral and the John Rylands Library.
The accommodation offers convenient facilities and amenities such as car parking and vending machines. After a long day of class, you can unwind in the common room equipped with a pool table, air hockey, foosball and a video game area. Alternatively, you can unwind in the courtyard.
Mill Point offers a selection of contemporary en-suite rooms, all of which are equipped with a private bathroom, storage space and study desk. Outside your room, you can find a kitchen and living area that you will share with your flatmates.

Good place to stay with a great location advantage!
For me, Mill Point is very good value for money. The interior furnishings of the room and the toilet are clean and tidy; The kitchen is not big but basically enough for two people to cook at once. Sometimes I invite my classmates to my kitchen for dinner and to watch movies. In addition, the staff is not only very enthusiastic, but also very aware of the dangers.

I booked a premium suite because I wanted a bigger bed and more space in general and they surprised me with my room. It is actually huge since I got lucky and got a room at the end of the building. I can even fit a coach and coffee table. It is just 12-15 min walk to either uni and city center and the cleanliness is good. The block is quiet since we’re all postgrads which is amazing (the undergrad buildings look more lively though).

The staff at Mill Point are all really lovely, and do their best to support me with any problems I have. I love having a chat with Kaki when I pick up my parcels and post. One time I accidentally dropped my key in the bins and Ayoub jumped in to help me find it!!! The maintenence man here fixed my shower the same day I reported it was broken which was amazing! Such great service and I have loved living here this year, always a friendly face around.

My experience at Mill point has been great. All of the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. I do wish there were more opportunities to meet others living here though. Other than that I have nothing bad to say and have enjoyed living here so far.

Overall good place to live, only big issue I had was the laundry facilities, break down pretty frequently, however we are able to use neighbouring unite building washing services when this happens

Extremely bad management team. Do not bother voicing up your issues to the reception as nothing will get resolved. Team members will enter your room freely in the name of doing "maintenance" work. A guy from the team entered my friend's room when she was showering. Also, they randomly charge damages fees to your student account without providing evidence that it was caused by you. If you paid a deposit, it is a sum that it's likely you will not get back. Remember to take pictures of every corner of your room when you're checking out to avoid being exploited. Overall, very negative experience. Feedback to the school about these issues but it is unlikely that improvements will occur. Staying somewhere else might be better for you.
We always aim to deliver a great experience. Maintenance team will only enter the room after 48 hours notice. Students pay an advance rent at Unite Students ( Not a deposit ). Advance Rent is our upfront payment type committing a customer to a booking. It is a payment of a set amount (usually £250 and £100 for STL Bookings) TOWARDS the FIRST rent instalment which is required at the point of booking.
