St Andrew’s Garden, also affectionately known as the Bullring, is well-positioned for students studying in Liverpool as Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, The University of Liverpool, LJMU and many more universities and colleges as all are within walking distance.
Students can benefit from the lively atmosphere and regular social events such as silent discos, markets and mini-festivals. There is WiFi, a laundry room and car parking available for an additional charge on a first-come-first-serve basis. You and your friends can socialize after a long day of lectures in the common room, games room or large outdoor area. To ensure you and your belongings are well looked after, there is 24-hour CCTV, on-site maintenance, a hospitality team, a fob entry system and 24-hour security.
St Andrew’s Garden offers spacious rooms and flats equipped with everything you need. You have the option of staying in a Bronze, Silver or Gold room. These rooms are grouped into cluster flats of two to seven bedrooms and are fitted with a shared kitchen and bathroom. The overall feeling is good, but the network needs to be improved
lack of security we had random people in our flat twice, also very dirty and most importantly maintenance takes forever to fix everything. For example it took over a month to fix my blind and all lifts haven’t worked since christmas!!!! Fire alarm is also constantly going off an unreasonable amount, personally i would never recommend here for anyone but i guess you get what you pay for
Absolutely love living here. Steph and Lauren on reception are so friendly and helpful, I can go to them any time with any problem and they always help me out. Great location and value for money, would completely recommend.
Pool table fixed in the common area!! Fridge broke and replaced with brand new fridge Lovely staff and always happy to help :)
Good and value for money with good management with friendly employees .
It's a good place and a good environment to live.
Great value for money and very friendly staffs. Could do better with the sanitation condition and probably an improvement in how fast repair issues are dealt with.
Pretty sound, staff are good and I really enjoyed it
Badly run, dirty, very small flats and constant noise.
Rebooked my room for next year! Love it here
This is one of the best place to live for university students.. there is huge open space at the centre of the accommodation that feels really nice, the management team is very friendly and cheerful, they always organise some events every now and then so if you are new you can easily socialize with other people from the acco.. also there is a common room with a huge TV, games room with a ps and a pool. Personally my experience was great living here. Cheers
St. Andrews garden’s encapsulates what a student accommodation should be. Its cheap and affordable with large rooms at a reasonable price. The building itself is what i instantly fell in love with; it being a grade 2 listed building with interesting architecture. Frankly for the price you can’t get much better in Liverpool in terms of facilities and space.
The accommodation is located in a really convenient area as most of the stuff u need is a 10 minute walk a way, like concert square the university campus, local stores as well as recreational areas, the building is designed to encourage interaction between each other although there might be friendship groups already created, everyone is open to welcoming you and making friends is easy if you come to this accommodation. There are yearly event such as, Halloween, debate clubs, pre drinks, Christmas, bon fire night and many more, with the ability to add more event based on tenants request so it’s really a comforting community at this accommodation, I absolutely recommend this accommodation due to price, location, socials and the history. Welcome to the Bullring!
Great flats for the money spent, very roomy good ventilation and nice amount of natural light as well as decent views so your not stuck staring at brick walls
St. Andrews is a great choice if you want a cheaper option that doesn’t compromise on location. The staff are chilled and friendly and make the effort to put lots of events on for students.
Close to uni and homely, wish I'd have been there first year as well
I love living at St Andrews gardens, it really feels homely and the staff are more than ready to help if we need anything
Location is so great and i really love the place.
I like the position of student accommodation. If the communal place is big, it’s better
It good value for money and they try to solve the problems you have 😁
OMG. The staffs in general are great tbh. Chloe was the first i met before i moved in and she was so excellent in being patient with me when i found it a bit difficult to pay at first. Fast forwarding to 2weeks later, I met Jo-anne, a staff. I really do not think i can positively describe her enough. She was a very big help in securing a job for me. Always so cheerful, helping and listening to me. I only asked once about jobs and could not believe she helped me ask one of her friend to take me in. So far, this is the best place in terms of staffs I have ever been. In general, the house is worth it. Few disadvantages will be fire alarm going off but then, a lot of students live here. I highly recommend here as a student tbh. It's really worth it for its money and not too costly too. I wish i could write more. Just too excited about my new job, All thanks to God for Jo-anne. Such a friendly angel.
Do not stay here unless you’re prepared to be woken up at any hour of the morning by the world’s most intrusive fire alarm. Some days the alarm went off literally 10 times, and once began ringing for 3 hours during the night from 3am. I am only making this account so that I can leave this review to ward off other students from staying here. The only redeemable qualities of this accommodation is the price and the location. If you’re prepared to be woken up at stupid o’clock every other day then stay here! There is no way to communicate with the reception remotely other than when logging maintenance requests. When you do communicate with the receptionists in person they have no idea what’s going on.
The place is so run down it’s horrible. Only good thing about it is the location. The management staff are way too concerned about making a ‘student experience’ by doing silly things like Chinese nights (that no one is ever bothered about) instead of addressing actual issues of the building. The windows are as thin as paper and have been falling out of the frames. Rooms are incorrectly priced and run down. Every flat is completely different so you may be paying the max price for a tiny room and tiny kitchen. The staff have absolutely no idea how to run the place. Staff feel like they can enter your flat whenever they wish, unannounced. Wouldn’t stay here for £20 a week, nevermind £93.
Great property and really great management that have looked after us well
Good value for money! Lovely staff who try their best to bring us all together even in COVID times. Repairs and problems sorted most of the time. Deep clean in summer questionable
Pleasant experience at St. Andrews Gardens. The location is ideal in respect of the city centre. Great to consider for social living, including themed events, quiz's and different weekly activities to get involved with. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and are always on hand to help. The accommodation has been great through out Covid-19 restrictions and has tried to support students in the best ways possible. All in all, lovely place, easy access to universities and city centre, very friendly and sociable space to be in whilst at university.
From an International Student’s point of view, it is the best choice for all international students.
St Andrews is a great accomodation with great location being close to both LJMU and Uni of Liverpool and only a short walk into the centre of town. The staff have always been helpful and available with security in the reception 24/7. The reception is a great space for gatherings and the social events organised by the staff were always successful in getting the students together and to stay social within the accomodation community. With the coronavirus, the staff have been excellent at maintaining cleanliness and precautions to keep the students living here safe and have been quick to resolve any issues. I've always felt at home staying here and would reccomend to any students considering living here in the future.
Excellent location in the heart of Liverpool city centre, 24 hour security with staff always present in the office, cleaner on site to keep public spaces in good order. Two dedicated maintenance staff operating 6 days a week. The only issue with the halls this year was caused by a power spike in the city grid that damaged a boiler which couldn’t be repaired due to corona; however, within 24 hours we we offered new, larger rooms with operational heating. Although overall an affordable accommodation based in 1930’s buildings, amazing staff, and plenty of planned social events throughout the year, at least when corona isn’t around.
