Newly refurbished, with fantastic indoor and outdoor social spaces, Regents Court offers house-style accommodation within walking distance of the University of Leicester, De Montfort University, and the city centre.
Regents Court residents benefit from lots of excellent amenities, including access to the social spaces and the gym in nearby Upperton Road, perfect for socialising and making new friends. At Regents Court itself, there’s a beautiful sunny courtyard kitted out with BBQ facilities to enjoy. On top of this, the management team also hosts an exciting calendar of social events throughout the year.
The building offers cluster flats in either four, five, or six beds. All flats are stylish, with modern fixtures and fittings. Bedrooms have a good-sized bed, desk, and wardrobe with the shared open-plan kitchen and living space that are beautifully designed for communal living.

What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Words cannot describe how much I adore Regents Court. It is such a welcoming place for any student to live. It provides safety and security for a student who has just left home for the first time to study. It provides many comforts, especially when building social confidence. Stayed here for my second year so I could be closer to Uni and I actually enjoyed my time here. We often had events and the reception was available 24-7 which made collecting parcels and key-missing related issues really easy to deal with.. My best staff were Phil, Genna, Paige and Mildred.. Phil being my personal best as he has always been helpful, to the extent of helping me move in. Hope to stay with student roost again next year!

My stay at regents court was overall good. The staff is always available in case you need anything which i appreciated. Perfect place if you are studying at UoL since it takes only 15 minutes to get to uni. The downsides are only a few such as a lack of social space on site, the accommodation was not clean when we moved in and the cleaners come in but just pretend to do work, and lastly there is too much maintenance going on all the time but at the same time i appreciate the rigorous control. Special shout out to the staff that works at night and makes us all feel safe. Thank you to all the staff.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Regents Court. It's great for the price and the staff on desk are super helpful, especially Phill. There's no indoor communal space but the outdoor BBQ is really fun for events, I liked the smores one! All the indoor communal spaces are at Upperton, they've got a gym and Phill hosts the movie events which are fun too.

The reception and maintenance staff are very friendly and deal with issues in a timely manner. Today an issue was mentioned to Phill and it was corrected within 30 minutes! Wifi is great but doesn't always automatically connect which can be frustrating.

The maintenance and reception staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. We have received help with collecting packages, resolving disputes, and fixing issues in the flat like broken appliances and mold. Pros: -Great value accommodation, -Fantastic location, close to the city centre, train station and unis. -24 hour reception with excellent staff, all very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Phill especially as he helped me on move in day, and is great to chat to (especially about Doctor Who) -Enclosed courtyard with benches creates a nice, private social space. -Washing machines in flats!!! -Secure parcel collection -Student Roost puts on good social events across the year -Feel secure here, and have enjoyed being here Cons: -Doors to rooms slam if windows are open, quite loudly, -Room didn't come with many draws for belongings, but has other storage space -I think the more expensive rooms are generally on the top floors (fine for me, but to consider), Overall good space, have enjoyed being here, very worth it for money, would stay here again.

I have met Phill on my first day, he was very welcoming and gave me idea about the place in detail. And I met Genna while collecting my package from the reception. She asked me how my stay in UK is going which was very rare as people don’t talk here alot. So they both are very comforting people especially for us international students. I’m staying here for more than 6 months this accommodation is too close to my university and it is very close to city centre as well. We always have 24hr reception that’s helped me a lot. Phillip and Paige they were very kind with me. I’d love to extend my stay for more.

Such a great place to live staff are so lovely and are always up for a chat, any maintenance issues are usually fixed within the week. The garden outside always looks lovely. There is constantly activities hosted such as snores night, movie night, stationary give away, hot tea and coffee. Love living here best descision I made in regards to accommodation

Close to the city centre, kinda far away from the Uni of Lei (20 min walk roughly) No tumble dryer in the accomm. Recommend purchasig drying racks.

Regents Court Student Roost is conveniently located close to the university, train and bus stations, and the city center, making commuting and access to amenities easy. The staff is helpful and responsive, creating a supportive living environment. Additionally, it's easy to meet other students from the university, fostering a sense of community. However, the common room is quite small, which can be a downside for those looking to socialize or relax in a more spacious setting.

Staff are amazing, I always felt safe and comfortable. Beautiful kitchens! Bathrooms could use a renovation. Bedrooms are fine, although the furniture is a bit lackluster - lots of storage space though despite thr smallish rooms (would rather if the rooms were a tiny bit bigger but its managable) Would also be nice if equipment e.g. toaster, kettle, toilrt brush etc. were added. Maintenence issues resolved quickly. A bit of a trekk to University of Leicester (20 mins to main campus) but right next to town and the station

Paige is just awesome and ever ready to offer assistance and information. Warm, kind, attentive and has a very diplomatic way of saying No when the request is against company policy. The place is good value for money, however there were a lot of problems with my roommates but reception was lovely, Cat especially was so helpful and understanding and they helped me solve most of my issues and offered me a room change.

I moved here in September 2019, and the accommodation has massively gotten better since then. The staff are amazing, they're caring and friendly, and if you have something you need fixing in your flat, they'll see to it that it gets fixed as soon as possible. Jane (day staff) pretty much runs the place and she is 100% the person to go to for any needs of the flat, she will make sure that everything gets done. The staff here made things so much easier for me whilst living at Regents.

Plumbing is a disaster with faeces frequently returning to the toilet after flushing. Apart from that it’s okay.

Our block was forced to move into a different block at the start of march. For me, as a final year student, this was very disruptive to my studies as I had a lot of coursework due in around then. It was clear that once the student roost had got my money, they were more concerned with getting tenants for the next year than with the experience of their current tenants.
Thank you for providing this feedback as we have completed a thorough refurb of Regents Court, we thought our residents would appreciate benefitting from the new flats as quickly as possible for no extra charge. Maintenance didn’t fix the issues risen when i first moved. Reception staff do not reply to email queries. I am unfairly paying more than my flatmates. Building old and dingy. Terrible.

Horrible stay, would not recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, we are sorry that your roost wasn’t 100% what you’d expect it to be. We are working very hard making changes to the building with the refurb along with staff changes to ensure you have a pleasant stay with us going forward.
Upon viewing flat, found it to be in a dire state but went and ended up booking a room. Upon moving in, there were issues with the flat which i wrote down and gave to reception team. While some issues were dealt with, others were left with the reasoning 'it will be done in the refurbishment'. that has only started in the last few weeks and it turns out my block is near end of the list so it's not likely it will be done before my tenancy ends. Also, I have found my room to be quite small and even enquired about moving to a bigger room however got told that there weren't any bigger ones available after it got checked. Moving on, I have discovered that the area where Regent's Court is based is a hot spot for people to smoke weed/cannabis, even 2 of my flatmates as well. I have raised concerns to reception however there's not much they can do. If anything, this particular issue needs to be raised with the Police and the Council. It will help make students and other residents feel safer.

The value for money is decent considering the usual prices in Leicester as well as the fact that it's pretty central. However, the management tend to take long to deal with maintenance issues though the office staff are really nice and usually try to help as much as they can. You can tell that a lot of the features in the flat are old/low quality. It's pretty difficult to keep the kitchen looking clean for example because it's just quite grotty. The social spaces are at another accommodation location about a 10-15 minute walk from here, which is kinda pointless as it's quite inconvenient to have to go far to use the gym or social spaces, especially if you don't know anyone there in the first place. Overall, the best thing about this place is its value for money, and I guess if you live here with friends it won't be so bad regarding socialising, but it's by far not the best accommodation I've lived in in my 4 years of being a student.
