Good location, nice rooms and very friendly staff.
Yasir was very helpful and welcoming and answered all our questions
Great place to stay during your studies
Newarke Point has staff who are very helpful and welcoming. Good value for money.
Met some amazing people due to living here! A good base for a first year student. The only negative was the customer service. For instance, I was without a light in my bathroom for a month due to the inadequate response time from the maintenance team. But other than that I enjoyed my time at Newarke point!

Newarke point is an accommodation that is very well suited for students and the people there are very friendly and helpfull
Extremely friendly and helpful staff couldn’t have asked for better staff. Thank you
The location of the accommodation is useful as it is on campus.
My experience has been good so far
I’ve really enjoyed living here, the location is great and the staff are so helpful, (especially Jack!) would recommend living here to a first year student especially
The service is good but the maintenance and entry to the room are too frequent
Great service polite staffs good atmosphere
It is very nice accommodation. It is close to my lectures. It is in a quiet area.
Valuable for the price, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and close to the Uni so it’s safe.
debbie the cleaner deserves a raise. she is so sweet and genuinely deserves it
The staff are very friendly and the apartment is very safe
It’s a nice place with lovely and friendly staff. Location is very good.
It is very interesting place for living. They are several characteristics found such as very quiet, security, clean and perfect social for students.
The building is nice and super close to the uni but have had quite a few problems with things regarding last minute room changes, issues with the flat that we were left to deal with until maintenance came and even then we had to clean everything up. Some of the staff are very sweet and welcoming but others are very vacant and don’t seem properly trained to be able to handle some situations. The cleaning staff Jane and Rahma are fab they’re so sweet and helpful along with most of the maintenance staff also being really nice and helpful. However many of the staff do just walk into your flat without knocking or making themselves known which is very odd considering you’re paying to live here? Overall Newarke point is good but not worth the extra money you’re paying for other buildings such as castle courts.
|8.8/10| Close to perfect, would definitely recommend to others and i’ll be back for the rest of my university years.
I really loved the ambiance and the environment here. Though the noise insulation is not so good . I can here the voices all the time from upstairs . Otherwise it’s ả comfortable space.
Great location wonderful place to live
Good location but not good for flatmate. They are loud and noise at night. Heater is not that help in winter.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Newarke Point. The location is perfect for those who want to stay on campus and want to spend that extra time in bed before lecture. Staff are really helpful and supportive, especially Jett and Debbie who do a fantastic job :)
Hope to speed up the repair,Sometimes it takes a long time.
Hope to renovate the house facilities.
Great location near campus, everything’s accessible Lovely staff who are always helpful Lovely first year experience
It's very close to uni so I'm definitely gonna stay here for next year
Newarke point has an extremely helpful team and 24/7 support. The staff are lovely and the building is well maintained, and provides a sanitary and productive experience for students.
Newarke Point student accommodation is the perfect choice for students that needs everything within a working distance, and also includes value for money. Newarke Point has all the facilities and services for student’s comfort and it provides a great learning environment for DMU students.
Staying at Newarke Point has been really pleasant. There’s been a couple of issues I’ve had while living here but the staff have always done their best to help as soon as possible with a friendly attitude. The building where my lectures are held is literally across the road so the location is perfect. In block B you get a lovely view of the River Soar which is nice to wake up to in the morning. I would recommend Newarke Point to any ADH (Art, Design, & Humanities) students.
Abraham I m happy with the unite students and their security also.
Friendly staff! Always at reception there's people that smile and are very friendly, I look forward to seeing them as it brightens my day:)
It’s right on campus so it is convenient
They need more cleanjng building and rooms
Great location, right on campus. Perfect for first year students. I’d highly recommend for anyone looking to find accommodation. The reception has been great!
I’m enjoying my stay at Newarke point right now. The reception staff are very friendly and will help you with anything.
Good location, no free washing machines, no parking area. Not too bad but it is inadequate.
Well I really like the hostel because it is close to the university and it is also affordable the cleaners are very friendly Infact even the services are good plus the Wi-Fi
The most suitable accommodation for students in Leicester
The halls (newarke) are well located for DMU and the square mile. The major drawback/problem is the lack of supervision of the building and courtyard/social areas over weekends in particular. There is a considerable amount of anti-social behaviour that goes on unchecked, such as smoking cann&&&& , excess drinking, very loud music and groups of lads hanging around. In part, this is due to Newarke not being staffed at night. There needs to be more done to make sure this is not an intimidating environment for students, particularly female, and foreign students completely new to the UK. This does not create a good impression. Also, the dorms can be mixed, which can present problems for students. There is also an issue with Rats running in the bushes/outdoor areas. I was told this was due to location near the River, however more can be done - proper bin areas, more supervision and maintenance of these areas.
I HATE THIS PLACE SO MUCH I WOULDN'T WISH IT ON ANYONE. I have been living at Neworke Point, Leicester from 2018 - 2019. The only 2 good things about Unite Student Newarke Point is that it's right on campus and the staff are really friendly. The bad things about unite students is that the accomodation is CRAP the worst I have ever lived in. 1) The walls are to thin aspecially I had to live right next to the kitchen with 4 other girls that acted like 10 year olds. 2) The Rent doesn't fall in with Student Maintence Loan and now I have an outstanding overdraft I have to pay back to the Bank (£930.40) canculing the Direct Debit doesn't make bloody difference. 3) You can't choose who you live with. 4) Delieveries takes them about a week or more to actually give you your packages. 5) I HATE THIS PLACE SO MUCH I WOULDN'T WISH IT ON ANYONE.
When I arrived things were broken such as the Ethernet port for my computer and the window wouldn't open, this did get fixed within the first week and I received an apology with chocolates. There are issues with maintenance and cleaners just walking in the flat without knocking or saying anything. For example I have had a guy walk in my room whilst i was in a towel to check plug sockets, with no apology or anything. They have keys and let themselves into your rooms. We did also have a guy break into our flat which security were aware of to look out for but we did get robbed, luckily the things taken were replaced through insurance. I would say value for money is pretty poor as things are missing and break easily and the rooms are pretty small. I'd recommend somewhere cheaper.
Basic, probably not worth what you pay but it’s right on campus. Security rarely bothers
Great Wi-fi, not cleaned often, but could not be any closer to my building
Great Wi-fi, not cleaned often, but could not be any closer to my building
An absolute nightmare experience to say the least, no maintenance done, "cleaning" done once every two months, unapproachable staff, it is now January and I have still not received my letter box key. Wifi horrible, ping-pong table in reception always broke in someway or without equipment to use. Wish there was a zero star option as 1 is too good in most cases
Internet is great most of the time and the location is brilliant. The rooms are pretty nice but you can get better rooms for much cheaper in other accommodations. The staff are pretty miserable and ignore the 24hr security, they don't have enough staff to cover all the locations so you'll get security some of the time or they're a phone call away, well you get transferred to a couple people then security is sent. Cleaning is pretty poor but can be okay depending on who you have. The social environment is rubbish, other halls are much better. It's alright for your first year but make sure you want to spend this much money...It's pricey for what you get. Oh, the guy that runs the places, he only wants money, genuinely doesn't care about customers. even the staff will tell you that one. and bring your own kettle, the one's they've started providing are rubbish. My main advice, don't be fooled by your first show round, it just looks nice!
Keep to the standard rooms. The upgrades cost alot more for not much. If youre over 6'3 like me your feet will hang off the end of the bed . Laundry system is down alot. Since it isnt coin operated either all machines are broken or none at all. They're expensive aswell £4.50 per wash ans dry. The interest speeds are OK, no need to pay for the upgrade. Depending on where your room is you could either have your whole room open to the rest of the accommodation or you get a lovely veiw of the river sour or a street. If you have a room facing the river you always hear drunks screaming and singing aswell as cars with loud exhausts. Beds are uncomfortable. The desks are large with lots of space, a normal sized wardrobe and wall mounted shelfs . Aswell as drawers, a bed side table and alot of storage under your bed. If you have a computer with 3 monitors they should fit well on the desk. There alot are sockets however not very well placed. I have almost reached word limit. I will Cont.
Fantastic place to live in your first year! Location is perfect... Living on campus means you'll never be late for lectures also it's situated 5 mins away from big tesco and 5 mins away from town! I loved my first year at Newark Point! Beautiful large rooms with fantastic views of the city
Really enjoyed my year there but the rise prices for second
WiFi is free and included with the room and at night especially it can be very quick. The cleaning isn't so good, with our Kitchen being cleaned very badly most times. The halls are also very expensive, and we don't even get double beds.
I have a premium room which comes with a double bed, after seeing the single rooms, it really is worth that extra money! :)
rooms were ok size wise but the on-suite made up for it. Brilliant way to make new friends as you start uni,Staff are helpful and if you ever have an issue, talk to the downstairs office and they will have an engineer up asap. Very friendly staff, good atmostphere, and most of all SAFE! scanned in keyfobs mean that noone can get in your flat without your consent. couldnt recommend the whole student halls experience any harder than i already do.
On campus so could just role out of bed, had no problem with the staff or neighbours as sound didn't seem to travel between rooms! And them common areas where looked after
This accommodation is really expensive so if you're on a tight budget it's not the best option. It's located very very close to campus and the Queen Elizabeth Centre (where they have a gym) which is nice. The rooms are lovely but definitely overpriced and I've seen that prices have actually gone up for the people who are starting in 2015 which is rediculous. All in all I've had a good experience at this accommodation and the main reason why I'm moving from it is because it's so expensive.
A great place to live with friendly staff which are always happy to talk if you have any problems
Bit pricey but it's in a great location and it's for sure the liveliest and most sociable of those at DMU
Most expensive halls but really it's the people that make it good, and the closeness to the buildings. Wouldn't change my halls for anything but wish they were better for how much we spend
The rooms are defiantly not worth the amount you are paying for and the walls are way too thin as you can literally hear the conversation from the room next door. The only good thing about this place is that it's on campus.
Overall, the flats need renovating, paying over £120 a week for a place which makes you feel you're living in the 90s. Management also refused to acknowledge the fact that one of the flat mates was the cause of damage to a window of our flat and thus forced us all to fork out to pay for it. Overall, not a positive experience living here, the only bonus was its location.
Definitely not worth the money. Way too expensive for what you actually get. Could stay somewhere much nicer for a lot less!
great location, decent sized rooms & decent Ensuite bathrooms
A little bit expensive but everybody is really nice and the location is really good.
Living in halls I have made three very close and wonderful friends. One of our flatmates unfortunately wasn't as sociable. Although Unite offers free breakfast downstairs in the lobby this is very basic. The cleaners rarely come up and it is ourselves who have to do a thorough clean each week rather than the cleaners. Also I have only made friends in my flat... I barely know anyone else who live in the same halls. The price we pay is ridiculous, the only upside is that we are given large rooms and our living space is big with beautiful views. I do not regret living in halls but I wish there were more social events to help find a greater group of friends.
Been good but security is shocking, lots of things break, and it smells from the bins all the time
