I’ve lived her for two years now and I can’t say I’ve been disappointed. Everyone in the team have been understanding at times and enjoyable people to talk to. (Especially when I lose my key) - thanks George and Amy. Also a big thank you to the security team here, Mike and Irfan. They have been helpful plenty of times and always willing to have a conversation - even with all the patrolling they do they make time to get to know you and feel welcomed right away. I’ve shared plenty of laughs with them over time. Fun fact did you know Mike owns a bus stop 😂. Anyways enough of my rant! Just wanted to say thank you for being my university home these past two years it’s been fun and enjoyable seeing the site getting better and better each day.

We are delighted the team at Bailrigg have made you feel so at home - and thanks for sharing your fun fact...we must find out more! It is great you have spent two years living here, thank you for choosing us!
I've been living at Student Bailrigg Living for about two academic terms. It takes about 20 minutes of walking to get to campus and has access to a bus stop nearby. The rooms are quite nice and spacious and you also get access to a study room, recreational room and small gym (which is often too busy,) The staff members are very nice and will sort out any issues as quickly as possible. However, I am convinced there are no cleaners as the hallways and lifts remain dirty. Furthermore, there have been continual issues with showers being cold, earlier in the year, they were cold for at least a week straight and still occasionally are cold. The radiators are weird, they are either the hottest thing on the planet or completely bone cold, which makes controlling the temperature of your room quite difficult. Furthermore, if you're a light sleeper you might struggle to put up with the constant noises of cars going by on the road or the train. Plus the photos on the website are not real images.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We are very pleased the location suits you for your studies and you are satisfied with the flat. We will certainly look into the water and heating issues as well as cleaning for you. However, please can I assure you the images on the website are indeed real - we had all the spaces dressed and photographed so students can see what the spaces look like.
Mike and Gurfan, exceptional security guards, are always friendly and helpful. George and Amy contribute significantly, ensuring a fantastic accommodation experience.
We are delighetd our team has made your time living at Bailrigg such a happy one.
For me, it was the best option for accommodation in Lancaster for my degree course and for my other needs.
That's great to hear and we are delighted to made Bailrigg your home.
Location is great since I’m not going to the city too often (1x a week) and mostly go to uni. Amenities are provided well enough, the laundry is also good (all machines working perfectly fine & it’s almost empty all the time so I don’t have to wait or race other people)
Thank you for your review - we are very happy you find Bailrigg to be a good home for you during your studies.
Apart from the management letting out the premise while it was still in construction, no repairs are carried out and the amenities are nothing as shown in the pictures on the website. Further, we were left with no heating during the winter months. To make matters worse, there are frequent water leaks and some of the tenants were left with no water in the bathrooms. I have had hot water in the shower just a few times. I mostly bathe at the university because of this. The gym floor is full of mud because the construction is still ongoing. None of the amenities are maintained.
I am sorry to hear you have been unhappy at Bailrigg. When we opened, we made it clear all of the construction wasn't complete and gave everyone who booked the opportunity to be released from the contract and find somewhere else to live. Those who chose to stay had a 50% discount off their rent for the first few months. Happily, we only have landscaping still ongoing which will be completed in Spring and all areas of the building are being fully used. Unfortunately a few residents were flushing items not suitable for flushing down the toilets whch blocked the waste pipes on the floor above and below them. Those who were impacted by this were given access to empty rooms to use the water in there whilst we carried out repairs. There are a small number of tenants still have issues with heating which we are looking into. We have cleaners on site attending to the communal areas and no maintenance issues. The common rooms are still to be decorated fully but the residents are enjoying using them in the meantime. We are available at reception if there is anything further you would like to discuss and report.
I signed up last year to contract and was told it would be ready by September 2021. It is still not ready in 2022 and gave us less than a month notice to find alternative accommodation I have left me having to pay out extra rent. I have put in a complaint but the manger just keeps fobbing me off and not sorting it. I would not recommended this company and would be very careful signing any contracts with them.
We are sorry you have experienced this and would urge you to get back in contact as we are proactively supporting the students who booked with us last year and have refunded everything. If there are still monies owed, we will happily rectify that with our accounts department.
The building… is a building site. It was supposed to be ready 6th September, it’s currently mid October and the residents are living in a hotel. They have no set date for when they’re moving in and there is no building manager anymore. They have been left alone.
We are sorry you feel like you have been left alone, that certainly wasn't our intention. The last year has been challenging and whilst progress was steady in the build process, the construction team had to overcome many obstacles. Just when we were so close, the latest obstacle means that regrettably, the building was not finished as early as previously anticipated. We acted quickly to offer a solution and rehome everyone into a hotel, communicate a rent discount and free laundry or agree to release you from your contract and refund your deposit - which you are still able to do. Bailrigg will be ready in the next few weeks and we can't wait to open the doors to students who choose to stay with us for this or next academic year. We are happy to give you a call to clarify anything you are unclear about from our email communications if you can contact us with a phone number. Sarah
