Vile craphole. Supposed to be graduate housing but it wasn't had more than one building filled with undergraduates. Loud at all hours undergraduates that party and set off the fire alarms. Said it was because they like to have some buildings available for remodel in the summer. They then remodeled ALL BUILDINGS IN THE SUMMER and had workmen in and out of flats for a SOLID MONTH AND A HALF. Not to mention the workmen working on other buildings during the rest of the summer. Better accommodation is available for the same or cheaper prices so SHOP ELSEWHERE. Do not use what is available for the university and NOTE: all companies have multiple locations in the city and throughout the UK. Don't think the university is somehow especially trustworthy... They are just inefficient and dirty.

Maclay's only advantages are that the rooms are en-suite (own bathroom) and that it is easy to find and apply for since it's University halls. The rooms are outdated. Desks space is alright. Heating is only on at given times, which gives unstable temperature, especially during winter. No ventilation, other than an exhaust fan in the bathroom. This makes the quality of the air bad. After visiting other student halls, especially private, it became obvious that you can get a lot better value for money!
