Not great value for money. Team is not managed well with lots of issues never being dealt with. Still haven't had my deposit back and have no response from emails. Never engaged with students and were rude when actually needing help.

Pippa and Tom who work in reception are the most welcoming people you will have as building and maintenance managers. Offering frequent coffee mornings, freebies and Pizza nights along with events. They truly care about you, if you have any queries or issues. Not just admin, but life and social issues. They are make this place what it is and as they celebrate you on your achievements, they also are something to celebrate in this building. The building has the most spacious studio flat varieties in the whole of Cardiff, The neighbours are respectful and friendly. In terms of other accommodation in Cardiff, it tops out the others in terms of price, utility and value for money.. Once again, big shout out to the team at City Heights. First year has been awesome!

I would not say that City Heights is particularly worth the money as far as premium studio living goes in Cardiff. The property itself is kept well, their are excellent social spaces and the staff are a real asset to the building, but there are some cons which make other accommodations more attractive. The aforementioned cons include the fact that the building has only 2 washing machines for over 100 studios, making it very difficult to ever get washing done. It’s worth using a laundrette local to the area. I used “Wash Cycle” as they pick up your laundry and drop it off. Another con is that office is closed periodically so any parcels you have will be locked in there for the periods in which it is closed. This may sound like a first world issue,but one time I needed a COVID test to travel and it got locked in there. Another poor standard issue when I lived at City Heights is that the outside wall was missing spikes on one part of it which allowed for a bike theft to happen.
Good location close to everything you need. Only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers for the whole building! There are well over 100 rooms so it has been a nightmare to ever do washing as they are always busy. There has been a leak in the roof of the building for the past 2 months and feels as though nothing is being done about it which is very disappointing given the amount they charge in rent. Buckets have been put in the corridor but that’s about it. Reception staff are always friendly but it is very hard to get hold of them some days as it is closed quite often.
It’s okay here, but there seems to be some inconsiderate tenants that blast music all day and day! Past the quiet hours also, everything else is okay the gym could be a little bigger with a few more pieces of equipment but other than that it is okay.

Wonderful staff, friendly living area and very safe. The few issues that arise are resolved promptly and with care. Doesn’t get much better than this.
Plenty of space in the room, kitchen and bathroom excellent, very good wi-fi. The building itself is clean, there's a decent common room with pool table, booths, and a large TV, and an excellent rooftop terrace with several tables to sit at. Special mention goes to the staff: simply excellent. It's not just that they are friendly folk, they go out of their way to help if you need anything. I only needed the room for a year but would definitely have stayed there again if I had been continuing to study in Cardiff.
Staying with City Heights was difficult for a number of reasons. The building and rooms are UNBEARABLY hot, during both winter and summer. It is an unrealistic and unliveable temperature. City Heights lacks security, there are no staff before and after office opening hours. When reception isn't open you cannot collect a parcel as it will be locked away by staff. There were multiple bike thefts during my stay at City Heights as a result of lack of security paired with the fact that the outer wall surrounding the building doesn't have spikes on it. This being sad, the staff here are nice enough, the building is well-managed when staff are on site.
Overall TERRIBLE experience living in city heights apartments. 100% not worth the amount they charge as you have to buy so many fans just to keep you alive as they don’t make you aware of the temperatures within the building. - NOT LIVEABLE. I’m so excited to leave this terrible accommodation.
This is my fourth year at University and it is safe to say that I saved the best accommodation till last! The rooms are huge and there is so much storage space, the location is perfect - close to uni and the centre of town. The bills are included so there is no added stress that comes with dealing with energy companies and the Wi-Fi has been reliable and fast. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and have arranged lots of activities and goody bags over the year. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed living in City Heights and would recommend it to anyone!

Really good apartment with really helpful stuffs. Good value with the prices!
I would strongly suggest to set a switch of the aisle right next to the bed. Because the light above the bed are too bright!!! I rarely turn it on, especially at night, when I try to read before sleep. I prefer the aisle light instead of the bedside lamp because it’s warmer. And I really don’t like the auto bathroom light. I prefer a physical switch. When I go to the toilet on 3am, I really don’t want to turn it on. I know it’s convenient for someone but at least I would like an extra option. I would say one heater is definitely not enough for winter. But I know someone don’t use it correctly which cause a lot of damage easily. I’ll suggest get an extra heater but can be controlled by the apartment instead of residents. I just wanna say that this issue is priority, more important than the light. I don’t want to live in a 180pound/ week room without enough warm on winter.
Great place to live in, perfect location surrounded by plenty of restaurants and takeaway options. Joanne has been very helpful throughout the stay so far. Definitely recommend it.
One thing that I've surely admired about the accomodation is that how friendly the staff members are! Probably one of the best experience so far. Also, the rooms are massive without a doubt with a beautiful terrace to enjoy some mental peace!
The apartment experience is very good. In the same price range, the area of the apartment is the largest. Cost-effective. It just feels that two heaters can be installed in the room, and one heater may not be able to keep warm in winter.
City Heights apartments is a fantastic place for students. The management members are kind and good behaviour they do as the best as possible to help the students. Let alone they are open-minded and patient people. The cleaning service is good as well as internet service. What attracted me to this place is the area you can find everything you want in a few steps. However, If you are a new student and looking for a home, I strongly advise you to become a resident in City Heights Apartment.
I have nothing bad to say about this building. Lovely rooms and building overall, the residents and employees are always kind and helpful. Only query is sometimes the wifi can disconnect and play up for a few hours at a time
An amazing place for a student to live in.
I came to study in Cardiff and when it came to choose a place to live I was looking for a studio flat so I could have my own privacy. City Heights is great for that, big studio apartments with everything you need! The location is also great although noise because it's located to a busy street. Besides that it's important to mention that the manager Jo is just flawless!
İt has not been too long to live here but me and my partner already loved and felt like home this place. We proud of ourselves to find and live here. Thank you.

I like everything here very much, and I thank Joanne for her help when I first arrived here and in isolation. I think the property management here is very good.
The rooms are amazing, very large with loads of storage space! The location is ideal for me as it’s close to both the hospital where I am based, as well as being close to the city centre. During the pandemic, the social sides of uni have been restricted due to the closures of the social areas, however when these were open they were great! I’m sure once things are open again it’ll be great. The management of the building is great, with good communication between staff and residents.
One of the best accomodation one could ask for being an international student. Wish could extend the stay for 5-6 months more.
Enough space to live on my own but it’s with a small gym. Btw I hope there’s a kitchen left bin to help people with rubbish classification in a better to protect our environment x
Even the smallest studio is huge with your own kitchen and living area with sofa, it's totally different to the other local accommodation. Roof Terrace has lovely views and the common space is a good mix of fun and social spaces.
