I have had an enjoyable experience at University so far. During the Welcome Fest, some students were allocated as 'heroes', making themselves available to people who needed any form of support or had any queries. There was an abundance of these welcome heroes and they were very helpful, offering a warm greeting, answering queries, and showing you around. All campuses are modern, well-kept, lots of facilities, and all staff members that I have communicated with so far, including librarians, clerks, and securities have been extremely warm and helpful. I particularly appreciate the SafeZone App which allows you to reach out to emergency assistance which will activate an alarm that security officers will see and offer immediate assistance. The University provides multiple events and activities, and there is a vast range of scoieties one can join, including lots of sports and physical activity, art, gaming and discussion and support groups.

Lecturers don't know my name, course offers opportunities based on gender (usually towards women). If you don't suck up to the lecturers then you are treated differently. Student union is only open during the week days and is usually empty. There are no societies worth joining and they all cost through the nose. The guest lecturers are good but the rules discussed in first year went out the window and we were quickly given the roles as Guinea pigs for the first and second years. Would not recommend at all.
Need to open on Saturday at chesterfield
It's an amazing uni with so much to offer. It hasn't failed to surprise me.
There were no societies that sparked my interest and the student union bar closes at 5pm. It would be much better if it opened until later in the evening as it would be a nice place to hang out with students and socialise after the working day finishes.
Great uni with future opportunities
Good teaching facilities and faculty for sciences.
Keeps on improving under every aspect, teaching, library, facilities etc. Only wish there were more postgraduate courses to choose.
Love this Univeristy they help and cater to you when you need help the most.
My college had better equipment than here. Everything else is good but they uni dont care about the students. The students have to look after one another. Some of the staff are terrible while others have to pick up the slack.
Very well sold courses, they lie very well about services and what your course will offer - dont take what they say at face value
I love this university so much, the support is incredible and I cannot being to explain how much I would recommend you going and having a look around!
The uni itself is okay, societies are awful no one behind them, student union may as well be non existent, Derby is an awful place to live with nothing happening unless you like getting the train to Nottingham every time you want to do something. Dropped out, waste of my time
Poor. Staff are only bothered about climbing the greasy pole. Don't care about students
Although we aren’t based at the main campus it’s quite nice. We can easily get to it to access other services
Just wanna say that I u don't get jobs from the careers n employment centre then pls ask if tutors to get u in touch through networking events. It helps a lot.
First year experience was great, independent study but help is needed if required
Best university ever! My business management course has a CMI accreditation! I felt part of a community since day 1.
Good Teaching, Great welfare support but needs more facilities to use for students including a 24 your library in the city.
Our University is great even though we are in a smaller campus of derby uni - buxton
I’m in my 1st year, and student housing have already messed me about. Currently a resident at Agard court, I applied to live in cathedral next academic year, which was a complete mistake because I wanted to return to Agard. I called Housing and explained my situation, they told me that Agard was now full for returners (it wasn’t) and to email to be put onto the waiting list. Which I did. Eventually I was told I was on the waiting list (I wasn’t). I spoke to my halls manager who was very helpful and sent an email asking for me to move into one of the spare rooms in the next academic year. However, In the time all this went on, there’s a possibility that there will now be no available rooms left. With the stress of exams/coursework this really isn’t ideal and has left me very anxious. Not very impressed. Other than this issue, there are some good aspects (unibuses, library and campus gym are great) however, it would also be nice if there were more societies to join
The uni is very basic in terms of facilities
Chose here due to an unconditional offer. Biggest mistake ever. Courses are very unorganised. Union has nothing to do with students after freshers. Facilities and campuses are very underdeveloped. Wish I had optimism to pick a conditional offer from a better uni
Bullying lecturers and terrible communication only care about how their course looks and how the attendance and results of their class is dont care about the students
It’s a great university for learning and everything but if you’re looking for good night life and events this isn’t it
Whilst it’s not the biggest or the most prestigious. The small course sizes allows for a personal element, more similar to a 1 to 1 touch. Allowing for students to learn more in depth, and ask more questions with personal tutors who look after you academically as well as look after your well being. From what I’ve heard this is not the case at ‘bigger’ universities
Third year is been worst experience ever in life.
This is an amazing institution
Brill staff and teaching facilitates
Loving my experience so far as a fresher!
It’s an okay experience, have an amazing wellbeing service as well. Everything is near by and timetable ain’t as heavy
The amount of clubs and societies could be better as well as the amount of pubs and clubs for students.
Great place to learn and develop as an individual. Good social and academic advancement
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you are enjoying your time at Derby and feel as though we're supporting your growth. Callum
Love my course, I’m there more hours than other courses more for my money and I’m based in a professional dance house, unlike other BA Hons Dance courses I looked at else where. Lovely people, down to earth love the uni!
Thank you for your positive response. We work hard to ensure all our students have a great experience during their time at Derby. Our BA (Hons) Dance students are lucky to work with Alice Marshall (the programme leader and artistic director of Adaire to Dance) Callum
I am loving it at Derby University
It's great to hear that you're having an amazing time here! We love hearing that our students are with the University. Callum
Love my uni. They take into consideration everything and give us the best opportunities
Thanks for such positive feedback! We aim to ensure all our students have a voice and shape and develop the experience to get the most out of university. Callum
I feel like it hooks people in as it looks modern but the Internet doesn’t work in most areas of the campus, the buses to and from uni are constantly over full and the uni itself doesn’t have enough space for people to sit and eat lunch/ socialise during breaks. Furthermore, the SU are shocking with organising events. Freshers was crap just like last year, the can’t get a decent name to perform and it’s the same plan every year. Societies are dwidiling too but if you want to go to a uni to stand around and eat a brownie from brownie man or an overpriced meal deal from keddies, go to Derby!
Thank you for getting in contact. Over the summer we swapped out Wi-Fi network. For a better Wi-Fi connection can I suggest connecting to Eduroam. We value the feedback our students give and it is a vitial part in shaping the student experience. If you wouldn't mind, please could email us more information to marketing@derby.ac.uk and we can look in to this further. For feedback with regards to the Union of Students van I suggest dropping an email to the Union President (president@derbyunion.co.uk) Callum
Amazing university with good resources and guidance. A lot of opportunities to get involved in extra cirricular events to inhance your university experience.
Thanks for such great comments! We work hard to ensure our students have the best opportunities available to them. This has been achieved both in and out of the classroom. We are currently rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. Our students also get the opportunity to apply for our International Travel Awards. In previous years, students who have participated in our travel awards have travelled to Budapest, Iceland and New York. Callum
Good facilities and campus but the student interface regularly breaks
Thank you for your feedback, we have invested £200 in the last 10 years to ensure our students have some of the best facilities in the UK. For feedback with regards to the UDo student interface would you be able to email feedback@derby.ac.uk and we can look into this for you. Callum
The staff at this university are very helpful they go out and beyond their way to support every individual student. The atmosphere at this university is amazing.
Thank you for letting us know your thoughts. Our staff work to support our students and ensure they get the most out of their time while here at Derby. We think the excellent atmosphere across our campuses is down to our amazing students and staff. Callum
Apart from the students union it's pretty good.
Thanks for letting us know your feedback! For further feedback on the Union of Students can I suggest dropping an email to the Union President on president@derbyunion.co.uk. Callum
An amazing university, it has outdone my expectations!
Thank you for such positive feedback. We are glad to have surpassed your expectations. Callum
I am really enjoying my time at the university of derby, the facilities on campus are excellent. The lecturers are extreamly passionate about the subjects that they teach and inspire me to produce some of my best work.
Thanks for your comments, it's great to hear that you are having such a fantastic experience. We have worked hard over the last 10 years to ensure our facilities on all our campuses are some of the best in the UK. Our lectures are exteremly hardworking and passionate and are the reason why we are rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. Callum
Fashion course is an absolute shambles saying it was top 3 when I started, now it’s top 20!!!!
I am at it's Buxton Campus. Other than the campus being ideal for students who study Spa, Culinary, Hospitality and Events, the rest of the campus is shocking. We share it with load and irritating college kids, who quite frankly have no respect 85% of the time, but we literally have no facilities that the big Derby Campus has. We have no club open on a week night... we have like 5 socities, we lost our sports facilities, as well as our us shop, we have a library thats have extended it's opening hours till 10pm... 90% of the Derby students have never even heard of us - probably because we live over an hour away from the main campus with no good travel links. If you want to come to Uni, in a small town that is excellent for practical learning - but has NOTHING in it (oh apart from 10 charity shops, 25 pubs, a superdrug, 8 supermarkets and a New Look) then Buxton is 100% for you. you will be dissapointed if you are coming to Uni and you want the experiences that your friends are having!
Thank you for your feedback, we value and appreciate what our students have to say as student feedback is a vital part in shaping the student experience. Our Buxton Campus offers our students a hands on learning ecperience for our specialist courses taught there. Being located on the edge of the Peak District and in the Grade ii Devonshire Dome, Buxton offers our students a different experience to those studying in Derby city. How ever we work to ensure the student services offered are equal to what is available on our Derby Campus. Additionally, it's only an hour to travel to nearby Manchester and Derby. Callum
Amazing lecturers for Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Fab labs. Lots of support available on all campuses.
Thank you for your feedback, I will make sure I pass your feedback on over to the Engineering team. Callum
I had no help all year, terrible support system, counseling is ridiculous and i was left several times, the drs are useless and things really need to change, at the university your not a person, your just a number and they were shocked when i wanted to leave after not caring about whether students were turning up and the CET department honestly could do with not leaving their students struggling, they aren't the friendliest of teams.
Thanks for getting in contact. We value the feedback our students provide us. If you would'nt mind could you please send us an email at marketing@derby.ac.uk and we can look in to this further. Callum
Great facilities, great support for students and great societies to truly help students blossom
Thanks for your feedback. We have worked hard over the last 10 years to ensure our students have some of the best facilities in the UK. Our students have a real influence in the University and are the reason behind the excellent societies we have available. Callum
Great uni, lectures are engaging and have real knowledge. With my course being new it makes things even better with all the opportunities we are already being given
Thanks for your positive feedback. We are glad to hear you have had such a positive experience here at Derby. We have worked to ensure our students have access to a wide range of opportunities across the University. Callum
Supportive staff, brilliant careers service, everything on campus, free buses, couldn't ask for a better uni!
Thank you! We're constantly improving our student experience using feedback from student surveys, so it's great to hear that what we're delivering is exactly what you're looking for. Callum
Great university with great staff. Updates to the campus have been problematic but ultimately beneficial and got fixed quickly. Not been able to connect to WiFi since they changed it at the start of this year.
Thanks for taking the time to review us. To help with your WiFi problem, IT Services have published advice on how to get onto the Eduroam network. Ryan
Excellent and amazing place to study
Thank you for you feedback. We are glad to hear you are enjoying your time with us. Callum
Derby university is very modern and there’s always lots of people around to help with any problem
Thanks for feeding back to us. We are working hard to ensure our facilities are modern and upto date. In the last year we have spent £10 million in improving our facilities for our students. Callum
Generally I love the campus, it’s extremely modern and up to date. However, there’s many timetabling issues with rooms, and due to this timetables are given out late and rooms occasionally changed. Personally, my lectures are superb and I don’t have a single complaint. They’re a very dedicated History team. I find the union of student slacking as many are uneducated on their roles, the societies are still gaining momentum, and I do question if the careers department will ever stop spamming my emails. Overall, I love this uni, and I would highly recommend it if anyone’s looking for a homely feel.
Thank you for your feedback! We love to hear from our students and will always try to resolve any issues. We continue to invest heavily to ensure our studetns have access to some of the best and most modern facilities in the UK. Thanks for letting us know about the occasional timetabling issue, we can pass this on to our timetabling team. Occassionally room changes migh take place, due to maintaince work needing to take place in timtabled rooms. For feedback with regards to the Union of Students can I sugges emailing the Union President on president@derbyunion.co.uk. I will make sure to pass your feedback on to the history team. Callum
I'm in my 2nd year and I don't regret a single thing about coming to the university
Thank you for your amazing feedback! We are glad you are still happy with your choice to come to Derby. Callum
Most welcoming uni I’ve ever been to, everyone is so helpful and lovely.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. It's great to hear you have had such a fantastic experience! Callum
Amazing university, staff is lovely and programmers are well taught. Great facilities.
Thank you for your feedback. Oour staff work exceptionally hard to make the University a success. They are the reason why we are now ranked in the top 30 universities in the country! Callum
I really enjoyed going to uni. The staff are usually very quick reply to emails. Communication throughout the uni is is usually great so you know about any events going to happen. Also there's plenty of places to get food and drink for a good price and a good quality. There's even a microwave on campus so you can bring in ready meals to eat if we still find it's too expensive, hot water is free of course. The staff are more caring than you could possibly imagine and there are support systems around to give you support plans for any problem. By going to this uni I really believe that I will achieve the best grade possible for me because any of my underlying problems will not be an issue or hinder my studies as the will offer me help whether it's academically or mentally.
It sounds like you've had a well-rounded experience while studying here! Thanks for your feedback, sharing your tips, and best of luck with your career ahead :D Ryan
It’s a place where u grow up with confidence and belief that you will succeed in life
Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear you've had such a positive experience! Callum
Personally my course is forgotten about always, no trips, guest lectures or additional experiences, of which other courses are constantly doing.
We are sorry you feel like this. We want all our students to feel valued and appreciated. Would you be able to send us an email on marketing@derby.ac.uk, and then we can feed this back to the correct people. Callum
I'm a Psychology undergrad, the psych staff are absolutely phenomenal. Couldn't fault them. As for the university as a whole, I'm yet to have a negative experience of any kind
We are glad you have had such a great experience studying here at Derby! We will make sure to pass your feedback on to the Psychology team! Callum
Absolutely fantastic place, it has surprised me how supportive it is, I never thought they’d have such a deep and thourough support team in place!
Thank you for your fantastic feedback! It's great to hear you have had such a positive experience here. Our students have a variety of support services available to support their time at University. Callum
Student support is second to none and amazing facilities especially in the law building! Free bus system is great too especially for getting around town and to the station.
Thanks for such great feedback. We value what our students have to say. Our free Unibus service was introduced a couple of years ago now, following feedback from our students. Callum
There are definitely improvements that need making with the growing expansion of the uni however this is being developed as we speak The only uni I wanted to go to
Thank you for your feedback. We are always happy to get feedback from our students. Please feel free to send us an email on marketing@derby.ac.uk and we can pass this feedback on to the right people. Callum
Really good communication and friendly staff
Thanks for your feedback. We have worked hard to ensure we are communicating with all our students through a range of platforms. Callum
Good university with supportive staff who truly care about the students and their future career. I have spent 4 years at the University and I have loved every minute.
Thank you for your feedback, it's great to hear that you have enjoyed your time here at Derby. Remember that as one of our Alumni, there are a range of benefits and support still available to you to help fulfil your career goals. Callum
On the open day the course was falsely advertised by the lecturers of the course. Many things mentioned on the open day made it sound like the right university for me when it isn't
We are sorry to hear that you feel the University of Derby isn't the right place for you. We are always keen to hear from our students about how we can improve, if you wouldn't mind we would like to hear more from you. If you wouldnt mind could you please email us at marketing@derby.ac.uk and we can look into your feedback. Callum
It’s such a friendly university. Everyone is accept and the teachers are so helpful.
Thanks for your positive feedback. Our staff and student really make the University and are the driving force for who we are! Callum
Would recommend to anyone, amazing services and support for people with disabilities and mental health issues.
We're glad to help anyone who may need extra care in their learning experience. Our Student Wellbeing team carefully triage all enquiries and create support plans where necessary for those with different conditions - we don't want to let any disabilities or mental health issues be a barrier to higher education. There's always a mental health practitioner on duty, who would see students in crisis. Ryan
Having the most amazing experience
Thank you for your feedback, its great to hear you are having a great time here! Callum
Lecturers provide the support required and some go above and beyond to ensure that you know what you are doing. Campus is always tidy and well kept - it is a nice place to study.
Thanks for your feedback - our expert teaching team are great, and our personal tutor scheme goes a long way to help keep students on track and motivated. It's also great to hear the appreciation for those that ensure our estate is always looking immaculate - I'll pass that on :) Ryan
Derby uni is well presented and a place of good education. Some lack of organisation but at the heart there are tutors who are really driven and passionate about the students and the subject.
Thank you for your feedback, and for your enthusiasm for our expert lecturers. We would also recommend you share any concerns on the functions of the University with our Student Centre. Callum
I Absolutly love this uni! The support and help from all the staff is amazing, they have fantastic services to really help you prepare for the future and genuinly care about you as a person and there student! Amazing!
Thanks for such possitive feedback! We always love hearing from our students and it's great to know you feel prepared for life after graduation. Don't forget that once you complete your course, you will be part of our Alumni, and can take advantage of our support and opportunities. Callum
I really enjoy studying at the University of Derby, mostly the facilities are great. It's great that there's an on-site GP surgery etc. The student wellbeing service could be improved slightly by adding in a duty/drop-in service for those whom are really desperate for help. The clubs and societies on offer are honestly great, there's lots available. I wish I had time to do more. Internet in the actual uni and in the accommodation isn't great, for example, we can only add 2 devices to the wifi when in halls.
Thank you for taking the time to review us - glad to hear there's more to do than you have time to fit in! There's some really great feedback here and I'll pass it on to the Student Wellbeing and Student Living teams, as they always want to improve on the service they provide. Ryan
Happy to call myself a student here at the University of Derby! Always been there to support when I needed it!
We are grateful for your feedback. Don’t forget that after your studies you can still stay connected with us here. Once you graduate from Derby you will become one of our Alumni and this comes with a few perks! Callum
Had a good time at Derby, could have been better
We're glad you had a good time while studying at Derby. We always look to further improve the student experience, so if you want to share any more details on how you feel we could further improve, just email them to marketing@derby.ac.uk, and we can look into this. Ryan
The university it’s self is amazing, all the staff are friendly and happy to help and support you in any way shape or form. The facilities are good and there’s a range of different food places and shops
Thanks! The Union of Students provides some great outlets in Blends Coffee and their various quick shops (everything from sandwiches to hoodies!). We've got some great food options at each site, and Kedleston Road even has a Starbucks, Papa Johns and Subway as part of it's food offer. Not forgetting Blackwell's bookshop and Sally Montague hair salon... Ryan
Everyone is so friendly and the lecturers are always there to help. Always take a check in student wellbeing aswell because they always make life a little easier.
We are glad to hear this! It’s always great to have someone to talk to, which is why our students have access to the Student Wellbeing service. Callum
Facilities are amazing-especially sports and it has a great teaching programme!
Thanks! Our £200 million investment over the last ten years has really ensured that we have some of the best facilities in the UK. Ryan
I had low expectations going in but so glad I choose this uni and not any of my other choices!
It's great to hear that you are enjoying your experience and have settled in. It’s even better to hear that your experience is better than expected! Callum
I just love the way society greeted me and did not focus on my ethnicity. It is great to see people so open and welcoming.
We have a welcoming and inclusive student community here and are happy to have you as part of it. Callum
Great university with good facilities, the wellbeing team especially are amazing, such a supportive environment
We are glad you're enjoying your time here at Derby with us! Our support services here at Derby are great and here for all our students. Callum
This university just keeps suprising me with new opportunities!
It's great to hear you are enjoying your time here at University! Don't forget that after graduation, you also have access to continued opportunities, and become on eof our fantastic Alumni. Callum.
Amazing for help and support from everyone at the university. Kedleston Road is a really great campus with good facilities. Would highly recommend coming to the university.
Thanks for such positive feedback. We aim to give the best experience possible for our students. We have invested £200 million in the last ten years to improve facilities across the University, and our students are really happt with the results. Callum
Really good! They care about students so much
Thanks for your positive feedback! Our staff work to ensure our students feel like confident members of the student community. Our Student Centre and Wellbeing service are great outlets for advice and support too!
Very welcoming university with lots to offer and all staff and other students always happy to help out where possible
Thanks for your feedback, we work exceptionally hard to ensure we meet the needs of all our students. Callum.
Student union, WHO ?? Don't exist at Buxton
We are sorry to hear your feedback about the Union of Students presence at the Buxton Campus. Have you looked at the Buxton Societies or Sports available? These include Events, Circus Skills, Film, Poker, Canoe & Kayak, and the Multicultural Society, all of which exist because of the commitment of our students. You can always drop in and talk to the Union at the Buxton Campus office too - you could find out what societies are close to having enough members, you might be the one who makes it :) Ryan
University of Derby Buxton campus, The dome is full of college students not a good atmosphere to learn in outdated halls.
We are sorry to hear that the Buxton Campus did not match with your expectations. While we have lots of happy students at this Campus we are always trying to do more to improve the experience across all of our campuses. We would appreciate it if you could send us more detailed feedback to marketing@derby.ac.uk so that we can keep improving our student experience. Ryan
The staff throughout the university are incredible, the lectures couldn't do more to help you when you need it. The student centre really care about the students and are amazing at explaining different routes and steps to help you access referrals. The facilities are extremely modern and we'll maintained. The library has a large array of materials and offer an incredible service. The best place ever.
Thank you for your feedback, we love to know what our students think. The excellent work our lectures put in is the reason we are now ranked top 30 in The Guardian University League tables. Over the past 10 years we have invested over £150 million in our facilities to ensure our students have access to some of the most modern teaching spaces in the country.
Neat university - requires more course choices.
Thank you for your feedback. We try to offer a broad and appealing portfolio, and most students are able to find the course they're lookig for, or even create their own unique Joint Honours combination where subjects allow.
Uni of Derby is really good uni to go to. It has everything that a student can imagine. It has good facilities, good support and you get respect from everyone.
We are glad you have enjoyed your time here at Derby. We are really proud of Derby and the student experience it has to offer.
The Universtiy of Derby offers a lot of help to students accademically and has good facilities (although some coyld be improved, such as a 24 hour libary and modernised student living) but fails largely when it comes to the social side of university life. There a few societies and those which exsist offer very few events and activities. The university would benifit from a greater student union with a more rounded outlook on student lifestyle and living.
We are glad to hear you have had a good experience at Derby University. We are always listening to our students and aim to improve the experience. The libary does extend its opening hours during key assesment times, but last year we also opened a 24-hour study space at the new Union of Students venue '67 Bridge Street'. This is located beside our student accomodation, which is more convenient and appealing late at night. We are also in the process of refurbishing more of our halls bringing them in line with the modern standards of our newwest halls, Cathedral Court and the forthcoming Agard Court. Union of Students societys do require dedication to maintain and keep offering fresh experiences for their members. You may benefit from creating ot suggesting your own society.
Such a good uni everyone is so friendly and everything is in walking distance.
We are glad to hear you have enjoyed your time at Derby. We are very proud to hear reviews like this that affirm our Gold rating in Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and the recent Top 30 rating in the Guardian's University League Table.
Accommodation was disgusting and too far away from the university itself. When visiting student services, not much help was provided. You feel like the university only cares about money etc and not much about personal well-being. The university was not helpful when leaving at all.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Our accommodation consistently ranks highly, with most of our halls no more than 1.5 miles away from various sites, so it would be great to understand what aspect you feel we cam short on. We aim to offer support to all our students here at Derby, and have an excellent Student Wellbeing service, who can guide various student issues, including creating a support plan for those with additional learning requirments. Our Careers & Employment service is available throughout your time with us to help prepare when you finish your course, and offer opportunities like the recent "Gradfet". If you wouldn't mind giving more detail about your experience could you send this over to marketing@derby.ac.uk.
I study motorsport engineering. When you come on the open day it looks good with a full garage with a formula 4 car, a global light, a formula student car and a vauxhall vx220. Like i said, it LOOKS good. But the reality is that they cant keep the staff. The head of the garage recently left work at another university, leaving one person in charge with 1 apprentice to run any practices in the garage. Secondally, formula student. This year we had one meeting about formula student and then the whole thing went cold turkey. Not a peep. We did try to speak to someone about it, but the guy who was incharge of that had left also. So we set up a motorsports society - which gets no help form the motorsport facilities at all. If you do a foundation year, then it is even worse as you will see that tge foundation year goes into a lot more depth in terms of maths, engineering sciences and practicals. All in all, derby apears to be good, but there is still much to be desired.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Are you still studying with us? If you are, could I suggest you get in contact with the programme team, and they can look at addressing these issues for you. You can get in contact with the programme team through your Union of Students Representative. If you are not a current student, would you mind getting in contact with marketing@derby.ac.uk- You can detail any concers you have and we can look in to this and ensure it doesn't happen again.
Hated halls, poorly managed and lecturers were rude and unkind regarding mental health issues
Sorry to hear about this. Are you still a studnet here at Derby? Our accommodation consistently ranks highly so it would be great to understand what aspect you felt we came up short on. With regards to lectures, if you are a current studnet, this is something you can feedback to our programmes team via your Union of Studnets College Reps. We aim to support all our students here at Derby, and have an excellent Student Wellbeing service, to support all of our students. If you would'nt mind giving more detail about your experience could you send this over to marketing@derby.ac.uk.
So unorganised it’s unreal, lectures never hand back assingments on time. Exams are never handed back on the set date for no reason. Most staff are good lectures but poor time management especially with assignments and exams! The unorganisation of this course (Adult Nursing, Chesterfield Campus) is truely unacceptable and should not be accepted in such a professional degree.
We aim to return student grades in a timely fashion and appologise for your experience. Would you mind emailing further details of your issues across to marketing@derby.ac.uk, this will allow us to look in to your issues is greater details.
Very disorganised, with everything including lecture times! This is a huge downfall! The organisation is extremely poor. Staff make you feel you can not get help from them. Don’t feel comfortable asking questions in most lectures, very uncomfortable feeling if you have a question and it is unanswered.
Are you currently a students with us? The best way to raise your concers is with the programme team. You can do this through your Union of Students College Rep. After this if you stil don't feel like your issue has been resloved, you can go through the offical complaints rocedure as detailed through out website.
The facilities are really good, its a shame they can't retain the staff and communicate with the students properly at all. (Motorsport engineering degree)
Thanks for your feedback. Are you still a student with us? The best way to raise your concerns is with the programme team about the quality of teaching. You can either do this through your Union of Students College Rep. After this if you still dont feel your issue has been successfully resolved, you can go through the offical complaints procedure as detailed on our website.
Fantastic university. I transferred from a Leeds Beckett and I feel there is so much more support at derby in terms of workload/mental health/careers advice etc. The staff and students are always super helpful if you need to ask for directions or something. Fantastic uni and a great range of courses
Thanks for the feedback, it's always great to hear what our students think about the University. Between preparing plans and offering career advice and guidance, we feel we offer a very comprehensive student experience that goes beyond what you're taught in the classroom.
High quality teaching and friendly staff and lecturers. The career guidance available at the university is fantastic.
Thanks for the feedback. Our lecturers, staff and students are the one who make the University what it is. We are very happy to have been rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Our Careers and Employment service work hard for our students, providing them with a variety of opportunities and workshops.
