The location is fairly central, but it's a bit of a dodgy street. It's located next to a drug rehabilitation centre and some less than safe council flats. It's fine so long as you don't stray off the road towards town. Staff are mostly polite (especially the cleaning and maintenance staff) , but there are some really rude members of admin staff. There is no feeling of security or privacy either, because the staff are constantly walking around the corridors knocking on doors if music is too loud, if you leave the door slightly ajar etc. There's additional charges for everything from parking to multiple internet connections or TV licenses, which is super annoying. The accommodation is probably 90% international Chinese students, which is totally fine but it means it's hard for national students to integrate. The rooms are the smallest student rooms in York, yet some of the most expensive. That doesn't guarantee a great quality room though; you'll constantly find broken stuff.
