First year at this uni, during the pandemic has been somewhat kind of a nightmare. Before the pandemic hit, the on campus accommodation that I lived in had many technical issues! One of those was the vacuum that was already broken before me and my housemates had moved in. When Covid hit, I had to leave my contract early, and the university withheld my security deposit within any actual reason and enforced a damage fee on my household individually which was very heartbreaking. At one point they still wanted students to pay for a full term even if you decided to leave the university and head back home! We have been very vocal on our disappointment on how they have handled their students this year, hopefully they’ll do something about this and comeback with better grace for the following year. I have emailed just recently in regards to receiving my security deposit back as the pandemic has hit myself and family hard and employment is becoming hard to find. I’m due to just transferring!

Wish I'd paid more, going cheap on living was definitely a bad decision. During Coronavirus outbreak they refused to let anyone off of the contract despite the financial issues the virus had obviously caused. This also extended to vulnerable students who'd had to move back home early.

Telford Court is a complete joke. There is no WIFI. Showers don't drain. Building is dirty. Radiators are broken. No one will come and fix any of it also which isn't helpful. Would not recommend to anyone.

Poor. Do not choose Telford. Awful old buildings that contain a plethora of issues. My radiator never works, my key card to enter the building stops working, leaving me out in the cold upwards to 30 minutes while security makes their way over, sometimes they never show. It's a loud area, lots of shouting from the main outside spot. The walls here are paper thin, nice been able to hear my TV from the kitchen and down the hallway in the toilet, everyone can hear everything. The rooms are kinda big and you get a double bed with lots of storage, so that's definitely neat! So the location isn't too bad, you're next to the gym, courts, and a short trip from The Forum and the bus stops

WiFi isn’t great however I think is being improved. Rooms are great and so much cheaper than the others on campus.

Halls are expensive, very noisy area, but close to college lane campus. Halls isn’t fun though when you have flatmates who hate you. Very messy as you need to clean yourself and sometimes your flatmates don’t do it. Depressing university and not much to do

Most social point in campus is a double edged sword. If you like people stumbling home blind drunk at 3am in the morning and waking you up when you have early lessons next day you'll love this place. Similarly if you're near the road you'll love the individuals who like to rev their 1.4 ford focus, play loud music or both of the above at the early hours of the morning you'll love this place. If you do call the security about noise complaint they might turn up its a hit and miss, you could always call the council and complain. Walls are thin so noise travels. Kitchen is small but practical. You will have a bit of a squeeze if everyone cooks at the same time but since you wont be getting much sleep your cooking times shouldn't be synced. Sadly there's no locks on your cupboards so leave food in there at your own risk. Cleaners come round but only clean the ovens and nothing else? What's up with that. Its pretty bad but what do you expect living on campus?

Living in university accommodation is great experience specially for international students. Not only the living there was comfortable but also its location is perfect for my university. Also it gives you chance to socialise with other people and get to know about other cultures.

Wayyy to expensive for what you get.. the Uni is just trying to make money from these expensive rooms... not looking after the students.

I great halls to live in as it's the cheapest on college lane campus and also the closest to the forum venues and main buildings. Great room with 4ft bed and large desk and pin board and shelves to organise stationary and books Plenty of drawers and storage including reasonable sized wardrobe. Sink in room is extremely handy too

Security turns up to parties way to often and ruining the night mining because Security are way too over the top with noise complaints along with trying to enforce fines which are also way over the top. flat Doors should automatically lock behind you as once in building way too easy for people to walk into flats. Prices are very pricey considering its cheaper to rent privately outside the Uni. Cleaning team are rude and don't understand why they even turn up as all they seem to do was sit in our kitchen chatting. Maintenance team was amazing but the problem was you didn't know they were coming so one time i came out the shower to a man in the flat hall way playing with the light (not ideal really). Security in general round the campus (heard of several bikes being stolen) and in the flat you get unsettling feeling of someone stealing at anytime.

Not the most luxurious place to live but the best place to live on college lame as it's the most sociable (seems like there's something on every night!) and living in flats of 6 is much better then the 12s of everywhere else on campus

Best accommodation at Herts but make sure you lock your door! Everyone's flats look the same. I was sleeping once at 5am like everyone does and suddenly this guy I don't know walks into my room wakes me up by shaking me on the shoulder. He then looks at me and noticed I'm not the right person and said "oh s*** sorry, wrong flat. You can go back to sleep now" to which I replied "this is a really weird way to meet someone new". We then just stood in silence for a few seconds before he walked away!

More value here than other places on campus. Big spacious double beds, comfy mattresses, loads of storage space. Only problem is the wireless there drops out a lot, the facilities that are broken remain broken for long periods of time, cleaners only clean ovens nothing else. However, the most social spot on campus!

The hall is located 5 minutes away from the student nightclub and the bus station as well as being the most conveniently located to the college lane lecture rooms and LRC. I had a good time here, you share with 5 people so it is not too crowded but you do get to meet a lot of new people. This is probably the best halls of residence in terms of location and value for money.

for what you pay for uni of Herts accommodation it's all overpriced to be honest. The premium flats are newer making it a little better but the older ones are falling apart and really worn down. For about £100 a week, it's pretty shabby. But then again, we are all students. Heads up to those on the first floor, people will knock on your windows at stupid times waking you up. And people in room 1 on the first floor - the main door is loud. It sucks!
