Kendrick Hall is right opposite the University of Reading London Road campus and is only an eighteen-minute walk from the University of Reading main Whiteknights campus. You have everything you need right on your doorstep, such as the town center and train station.
If you are in a sociable mood, you can join one of the many events hosted throughout the year or simply hang out in the common room and watch TV. During the warmer months, you can relax outside in the courtyard and landscaped gardens. If you need to focus on your studies, you can make use of the study space, WiFi, and printing facilities. For your benefit, there are bike storage and laundry facilities. To make your stay as convenient as possible there is an onsite reception and maintenance team, secure door entry, CCTV, and 24-hour security.
Kendrick Hall has four different room styles set across seven accommodation blocks. If you are looking to feel part of a community, then the en-suite rooms with shared facilities are the ideal choice. Alternatively, you can opt to stay in the privacy of your own studio. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom, under-bed storage, a small double bed, study space, and a wardrobe.

Kendrick Hall is a good choice of student accommodation, my room and kitchen were all up to date with working appliances and all maintenance queries were sorted fairly quickly.
The accommodation is about a 25 minute walk from the main campus which is okay when the weather is nice, otherwise it is only a quick ten minutes bus ride. The facilities available are good and staff often put on social events such as parties and breakfasts. The price is quite high for what you get, but the accommodation is more high quality than others in the area. I was very lucky to have amazing flatmates too which made my experience even better. Some negatives are that the flat was not very clean when I moved in, but this was due to exceptional circumstances and staff could not help it. The rooms on the top floors are also unbearably hot in the summer months, but nice and comfortable throughout autumn and winter. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would recommend Kendrick Hall to students in Reading! :)
I'm not a person for writing reviews, as this is my first, but I feel compelled to share my experience because I am extremely unimpressed and don't want people to be misled. For any students considering moving into Block G of Kendrick Halls, I strongly advise you to reconsider. Recently, I experienced a break-in attempt where three individuals banged on my door, demanding to be let in. Thankfully, my door was locked, and they couldn't get inside. Despite having 24/7 security, my report of the incident was doubted and dismissed by the security staff, who showed no sense of urgency or seriousness. This response came from one particular guard, but it reflects poorly on the overall security. I reported the incident to the police shortly after.
Additionally, Block G is in poor condition. When I first arrived, the room had a terrible odor, the toilets are outdated, and I've had issues with the heater in both my room and the shared kitchen. There is also no mobile signal in Block G, so only
Nice accommodation, staff are friendly and they organise a lot of events throughout the year to connect the students together! However, I wish we could have someone clean up the shared kitchen regularly like other student accommodations because I live with people I don’t know and they don’t follow the cleaning rotas that I have shared and pasted in the kitchen (guess I was unlucky that I got flatmates who are not as clean and responsible…). Other than that, it is actually a great accommodation at a convenient location between town and uni!

Overall, it has been a lovely experience so far living in Kendrick Hall. I've not heard of any other accommodation doing half of the things they do here so I feel very grateful to have got a room here. It's my first time staying in uni accommodation and I can't think of anywhere else that I'd rather stay. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable.

I’ve really enjoyed living at Kendrick, especially since my friends are also here. The free breakfasts and fry-day bingo are great ways to socialise with other students. I also made good use of the study areas, particularly during exam season. Kendrick is very close to the town centre and a 15/20 minute walk to uni, so it’s very convenient. My accommodation is like home and very cosy so staying here this year was great and I’m choosing to stay at Kendrick for my second year of uni as well. All the staff are very kind, welcoming and helpful too.

Really enjoy all the events, especially free breakfast! All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. I make good use of the study area in the hub, which has been helpful for my studies. The town centre is also very easy to walk to.
Kendrick Hall is located in a very convenient location. Staffs are helpful and friendly. However, it could help with some routine cleaning services throughout the year. Moreover Tlrhe kitchen and rooms are not well cleaned upon arrival and some equipments are broken

I’m so surprised this accommodation came first, meaning other accommodations must have been so bad. Don’t waste time or money coming here. The only good thing about it is the location. Everything else is disorganised. Management don’t answer your problems till you literally scold them. The structure of the rooms are so horrible, when I first moved in it stunk so bad and was so dirty I had to clean it myself. There’s been several occasions where they have left students with no hot water to shower. Rooms and bathrooms are so tiny. There’s so much wrong with Kendrick. Go somewhere else

Been to 3 ‘well known’ student accoms in Reading since I came here in my foundation year, I am now in my 3rd year of Uni. I have to give a shoutout to Kendrick for actually giving a sh*t about students welfare, keeping the communal areas tidy and additionally provide 24/7 security and maintenance on standby… Anyways It’s been so long since I had a good ol’ all day breakfast due to the rising inflation, however Kendrick goes the extra mile to provide breakfast for a week once a month, so yeah it’s a solid 9/10 for me

Living at Kendrick Halls for the past three years has been an incredibly positive experience, one that I feel fortunate to have had. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warmth and professionalism that set the tone for my entire stay.
All the staff members are very helpful especially Mrs Marilyn Carter which by her willingness to go above and beyond to help with whatever I needed has made my time here not just comfortable but also truly enjoyable.

Areas that the accomodation are in charge of cleaning clean are always 100% clean, they only reason it’s got a low score for me is due to other tenants not keeping the kitchen clean. However, every other aspect of living at Kendrick is lovely. They host unique events in the hub to liven up the social life and to get us connect, which I am extremely grateful for. The rooms are quite cozy and the perfect size to have my own space and not have too much to clean. If there are any issues, the staff ensure they are quick to amend them so we can go about our day without worrying.

Nice room and very welcoming staff, bike likely to get stolen however and it is a bit of a walk to uni and back everyday but does have an advantage of being much closer to town.

Kendrick Halls is a really good off-campus accommodation. Most importantly you get your own bathroom and certainly do not have to worry about the cleanliness of your flatmates when they use theirs. Although you, with your flatmates have to clean your kitchens yourself, it's still a very good accommodation with wonderful customer service. It's about 25 minutes from campus by foot ( which I don't mind) so my Spotify premium doesn't go to waste anyways. All in all an 8/10 accom, not by any fault of kendricks, but some flatmates aren't as clean as others so it's basically a gamble. If you are lucky enough to get clean flatmates, kendrick halls will be amazing. It's also just like 20 minutes from the town centre too, so you got that over on campus students!
