I’ve stayed in this accommodation for all three years of my university life, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the SJ Library—which made late-night study sessions easy and safe. The area feels secure, even when walking back late at night, which gave me real peace of mind. The accommodation itself is always clean and comfortable, creating a welcoming and relaxing environment after long days. On top of that, the management and staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, and always approachable. It truly felt like a home away from home.

This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
I’ve lived here for my last year at university; it’s been a very pleasant stay and my favourite accommodation throughout university - it’s a good location. the rooms are very modern and pretty spacious, noise is kept to a minimum by other residents, and the staff are always so friendly and happy to help. I stayed at the Myrtle street location and would definitely recommend

Urban sleep is a very secure and great place to live. Lydia and Caitlin are brilliant behind the reception: they are extremely organised with parcels and letters, and very friendly and willing to explain things clearly. The security team take their job very seriously; I’ve left my keys in my room a few times and they managed to help me out- they are very friendly and great to speak to. The halls and reception areas are always clean: the cleaning team are great at their job and pay close attention to details. I did have a few issue with my neighbour in the beginning, but the management dealt with the problem very professionally and swiftly. Urban sleep is a great place to live if you’re looking to make good friends and have a secure and pleasant palace to live. Thank you Urban Sleep!
Nice location and friendly staff
