Lived here first year, so close to city campu, you can roll out of bed to your 9ams if you make them. Close too all the clubs etc too. Wifi never dropped out during endless tv binges and Netflix n Chilling. Gym is basic but decent, and the flat parties are good social opportunities. Only small issue is the homeless gathering every morning by the bins.

The worst experience ever, drastically decreased my mental health. Loneliest place ever wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
When I first arrived for freshers week I noticed my room had not been cleaned very well. I found lots of black hair around the room. My mattress wasn’t very nice, I could feel the springs with my hands. The kitchen was very worn and shabby. The gym, not quite as the photos show on the website. Quite disappointed with everything so where my parents, my Mum was quite upset.
I was in a flat with other 5 people whose courses were completely different to mine. Different routines, a real nightmare. They partied, shouted, invited people over all the time, a real nightmare. Impossible to sleep, tried to move room for months, got in touch with members of staff and manager but no help was given even if I got a lawyer involved, absolutely ridiculous. The answer I was given was to find a new tenant. This experience really shocked me and really affected me and my studies, felt abandoned, isolated, sad and I was really worried I wouldn’t have got to the end of the year and I would have had to drop out of university. Had to travel down south to a friend’s house to get some rest, outrageous. So much money wasted just to get some sleep. I developed insomnia. People shouting and throwing glass jars to each other at 5am. Also, flat door stopped working in October, despite our continuous complaints it never got fixed. We got locked out so many times at night
This accomodation is horrible. Does not worth your money at all. You can find better places to leave and more cheaper. There are rats outside and in the kitchens are bugs even if everything is clean. Staff is rude and not helpful. Laundry is expensive and clothes get lost. The cleaners do not clean the kitchen, they just come and check. Just the location is good and close to the city center and uni. I don't recommend AT ALL!!!!!! (If I could not put less than a star I would)
DO NOT LIVE AT THE PLAZA Although the Plaza is perfect location the building itself is not! The United Student staff have no clue what their jobs are and are no help when things go wrong, out of my 12 month contract id easily say that the washers weren't working for at least 4 months of this time, the Plaza gym was useless with gym equipment in it that was either broken or on its way. The final disappointment was when the Plaza flooded leaving myself and hundreds of students homeless, turns out that the plaza has actually flooded 5 times in the last 2 years.. if you want a stress free year then do not stay here, 136 pounds a week and you get nothing other than a good location!!
awful just awful. made students homeless a week before exam period. UNACCEPTABLE!
Cons -Floods constantly -Maintenance requests ignored or seen too at snail pace -Gym equipment always broken -Laundry always broken -Dirty -Lifts don’t work well and brake -Our door was constantly braking -WiFi goes a lot - electricity goes a lot -not cheap -drains clog up -cleaners don’t clean or do once in a blue moon -microwave was broken when moved in -oven looks like it’s burnt -rats outside -windows shake with wind and you get a slight breeze through them Pros -Right in the centre -Rooms are decent size -staff are friendly -residents are friendly -put in a flat with people similar to me
Other than having the best location the plaza is awful. The cleaners come when they want, we had two new flat mates and weren't informed that they were coming we just met them one day when we walked into the kitchen, the blocks are riddled with lava insects underneath kickboards and the staff and very unresponsive passing messages on to different employees who do not prioritise the requests. In the communal area that had a tv, throughout the whole year of me being there it never worked. Definitely not good value for money, £6000 for something I could get for a lot cheaper elsewhere!
Living at the Plaza is good. It's very close to campus, shops and clubs and bars. The plaza maintenance team is good, reporting a problem and they do tend to solve it. however I have had many problems here, from noise levels on a night, to smoke from smokers in my bedroom. The staff at the plaza are absolutely useless, rude and very unhelpful. they don't care about any student here unless you see them everyday and become friendly. I complain every week about noise levels outside reception from groups being loud. they have never once sorted or tried to sort this, and probably never will do. Problem at the Plaza? You'll have to deal with it yourself. all I'm saying is if your flat is above reception or on lower floors good luck sleeping!!
Lived here for first year, constant problems with waterworks (off for a few hours every week) eventually leading up to the flooding of the entire building where we were evacuated. Then put up in good hotels with £35 worth of expenses on food, non the less the whole situation could have been avoided with suitable contractors on fixing the continuous water problem (cheaper contractors chosen). Highlighting a clear disregard for the tenants as this was a recurring problem throughout the semester and I believe happened the year before.
the staff are very attentive and will help with any request you have, but sometimes this can be a little over board as they are disrupting vital services, such as water and wifi, in order to make improvements when the services were perfectly adequate to begin with
The Plaza is a fantastic place to live and socialise with lots of different people. It's extremely close to campus making it easier and less stressful to find where you need to be going in the city. from The Plaza it's only a 10 min walk to the main city shopping and there are also supermarkets a 2 min walk away. The only downside to the Plaza is that the staff members don't seem to try and deal with the problems people tell them about if they don't seem serious, for example noise levels from other flats they're not fussed about, even if this is early hours of the morning and it stops you sleeping They just need to approach problems and try to solve them in a better way.
Nice, clean and modern with an unbeatable location. But Wifi easily goes when it rains heavily.
Loved living here! Great location and very safe! Rooms are nice and modern! Staff are very quick at dealing with any issues!

I'm currently living in the plaza, to be honest it is probably the worst place I've ever lived. The staff are completely useless, they really could not care less about students living here. If you've got a problem, you pretty much deal with it yourself, even if it's life threatening. They take weeks to reply to any email and when you try to book an appointment, it's not the easiest thing. I would not recommend this to anyone who is serious about their education and wellbeing as it is the worst place to live in.
I stayed in the plaza during my first year at university and to be honest it ruined my university experience! I was placed in a flat with people I found very difficult to communicate and live with and even after complaining several times to the reception staff (who spend more time playing ping pong in the back room and having a gossip rather than helping people out) nothing was done about it. It's completely over priced, I find it disgusting how they can charge the amount of catering halls when they offer nothing for the money (they do not even provide a television in the living area). The social side is ridiculous they have 2 televisions in the common room (I wouldn't even call it that) and they offer a weekly film night (which is mainly filled with the staff gorging on pizza! I have also seen other people trying to find someone to move into their room so they can leave (which the staff do absolutely nothing to help) so i'm clearly not the only person who is unhappy.
