Great location to get to campus
Peaceful and quiet accommodation, only no bedroom cleaning, cleaners do a good job, nice common room and helpful reception staff
Overall good with good value for money and social spaces however due to Covid the social experience was a bit limited but despite that the committees did try to create the best experience possible. However, it would be better if there was a printer at the holt for those that don't have one themself.
I’ve met some great people here, it was a good experience

The holt is an amazing hall, it’s located right near campus and east park, a 10 minute max walk into town, next to the Toby for those hangover cures, the hall is amazing at cultivating a social and welcoming culture, encouraging yo to make friends no matter your race/gender/sex or creed.
Good hall, far from West Park though
A really wonderful hall, its not talked about too much because its off campus and doesn't have that many rooms in comparison to the other halls however it feels so homely and the flats have spacious kitchen areas. The cleaners are great but only come once a week so you do have to be responsible and clean up after yourself, if you don't respect the kitchen and tidy things up they will leave a note and sometimes refuse to clean, but its fair enough as they're not hired to be your parents and clean up after yourself. Very well located if you're doing Arts/English/Drama or economics, not so good if you're doing science or engineering as that is on the other side of campus (30 minute walk)

The Holt was not originally my first choice because I was aiming to be on-campus. However, I’m so glad that I lived at the Holt. It is a 5 minute walk to lecture halls. This hall especially allows people to become involved in sports and sections which may not be as easily accessible in some of the bigger hall’s due to more people. For example, I do not consider myself a sporty person but was really interested in getting involved in sport; I was obviously not good enough to get onto the uni teams but the Holt’s committee made great efforts to have anyone get involved regardless of their ascribed talent which made the sports experience great for those who just wanted to be involved and play some games every week.

Hi Memberliv Its great to hear that you chose to make the most out of your experience whilst staying in our halls of residence! Tendo
I’ve had an okay year here but nothing amazing. The buildings are nice but socially it’s quite cliquey and I’ve struggled to find my place. My room was really good though and had plenty of space so this place would be good for someone more outgoing
Had a brilliant stay in The Holt for my second year. I was put in a flat of only two others which meant we had an enormous kitchen and social space just to ourselves. The room was well furnished and the ensuite was equipped with modern and well maintained plumbing. I couldn't fault the accommodation, it was exactly what I needed

We're glad to hear that your needs were met! Tendo
