So many places to get good food and coffee anywhere on Talbot Campus. There’s a pub, Dylan’s Bar with all day food and occasional quiz nights. There’s the atrium Starbucks in Poole Building, one in the very comfortable SUBU building, there’s a juice bar, a cafeteria with great food selection, a Starbucks and a costa cafe in fusion building, and another coffee shop in the Media Building. The library can get crammed at peak times, but has everything you need and a bridge link to SUBU building. Some more outdoor seating would be nice maybe, but it’s getting better and the lecture theatres, seminar rooms and other facilities are pretty neat. I like the atmosphere too, it’s friendly and feels more like a bunch of friends on a chilled out summer festival and because all buildings are arranged around sort of a courtyard it is very easy to meet people you know.

enjoyed the lectures and seminars however he finance team and support around the course was poor , fell in to difficulties online resources were cut which caused stress and affected my course, when I went to see my student union rep was told if your from abroad you get much longer grace period with fees which is not right. Secondly the Uni changed VLE half way through the year and online resources were always late , the tutors was always difficult to get hold of and feedback on our work was always late and sometimes never received. Overall I do not think the course was good value for money , I did a MSC Sport management

My complaint is with the transcript department not issuing official copies of your transcripts after 10-years have elapsed, essentially making your degree worthless. They initiated this policy without notifying any alumni. Thanks BU!

I joined Bournemouth University with great expectations of societies and wonderful friendly people but was sadly disappointed on arrival. This hasn't improved over the last 6 months. You have to pay extra out of your pocket to take part in societies and even then they are terribly run and rarely meet! There is a minuscule collection of societies heavily revolved around sports or drinking... if you're looking for culture head somewhere else. Food on campus is overpriced and not student friendly. It's cheaper to get a meal deal at Tesco. The cherry on the cake is unfriendly peers who merely want to get drunk or go home for the weekend. I wouldn't recommend this university to anyone who has even a glimmer of life in them, it will suck it out of you.

In my second year and still hating it. Bournemouth University is actually a joke and it makes me really sad to write this as I know my friends at other universities are having a great time while I'm stuck here. Enrolling was ridiculous and tricky and was not given my correct log on details so was stuck in the halls about a 40 min bus ride from bournemouth centre and university itself so was very isolated, also night bus doesn't count. Was a very lonely first year because of this. Lecturers and course leaders have no clue what theyre doing. My seminar teacher is the dumbest man I've every met, he has never helped me once. Teachers don't email back in their 3 day policy. Sports clubs are like £200-300 if you make it in, and 9 grand doesn't cover social clubs, you have to pay for them too. I have never felt more lonely and frustrated then at BU. Campus sucks, teachers suck, don't come here.

Spent a year of my life, and £9000 at BU and wish I could take it all back. I studied Events Management, and we were hardly in uni at all. Some weeks I was in two days, some weeks one, and they count PAL sessions (classes with people one year older then you, and not any wiser) as 'contact time' with tutors. I never saw one lecturer enough for any of them to give me a reference when I was leaving, and when I told the head of my year I wanted to move to AUB (literally across the road. Literally. You can see it from the window) she didn't know what uni I was talking about. But overall the biggest error was the fact that we never got to put on an actual event. This course is cobbled together from other management and business course units, so you have to study hardcore finances and economics, and then sit maths exams in them. We got to plan a 'pretend' event, but that was all. I believe in second year groups all put on different versions of the same event, but how rubbish is that?

Organisation shocking. So many errors it's a joke. Lecturers not turning up. Given incorrect exam dates. Results never given on time some as much as a week late. Marking clearly not consistent. Sent incorrect graduation details and not informed until after tickets bought and paid for. As well as getting info wrong had to lay nearly £100 to attend graduation. Student union seem to be trying hard but the clubs and societies are not great. Anytime there's an issue it takes a long time to get sorted. When we tried to make a complaint it wasn't taken seriously despite us having to pay (literally) for the errors of the uni. Wouldn't recommend.

The thought of being thrown into an alien environment, with a host of new faces was massively daunting at first, but I was quickly able to make friends with some great people during Freshers. I was reserved in my first year, and didn't get involved in as much as I could have. Fast forward to second year, and I'm a student ambassador (A really great cause and the best job I've ever had!), A PAL Leader (one of my most rewarding experiences) and am social secretary for MASS, a society in which meatheads swap information about training, nutrition and the like. Staff at BU have always been very accommodating and you're always made to feel welcome. I study BSc Marketing (Hons) at Talbot campus so I'm especially excited to get back there after the completion of my industrial placement so I can kickback in the new fusion building, which isn't even completed yet, but already looks INSANE.

They hate the automobile and if you're a health and social student expect to have the worst facilities as the liberal arts and the media students reap the restaurant's, Coffee shops, banks, small shops, pizzaria's and a multi-storey library. Whilst you sit in Bournemouth house waiting for a gone off sandwich and a small over crowded library where the wait for a table to set up your laptop and books is fraught with danger like a knife fight in a maximum security prison. Justice.

Coming from Wales I couldn't be happier with my choice of university. The staff are really supportive and accommodating and the facilities are great. I'm a cheerleader which enhances your social life so so much so I would definitely recommend signing up to a club/society. My course is really tailored to creating the best possible chance of Job opportunity as they encourage all students to do placement year. A very good University, one of the best locations to study and a really friendly learning environment. New student centre has just been built which is really beneficial in terms of space for students so we don't rely on the library. Lots of food options and seating areas for all sorts of groups of friends to work chat or relax. Everyone is willing to help you with any query you have and maps and apps have been created for timetables, room and lecture theatre locations as well as where Dylan's Bar is! Lots of social events including every society you could think of, followed by things like karaoke, D&D and comic book club! There's literally everything you could want and need in this Uni.
