NTU has genuinely been a fantastic experience! I chose to live in Private accommodation as I felt you could get more for your money elsewhere so I picked York House which I would highly recommend! There are over 150 societies at NTU and you can join as many as you want, you can choose what activities you would like to attend as well. The Students Union hosts activities like crafting or sports related on the Events page so make sure to keep an eye on that to meet more people but also to relax. The social spaces in NTU are amazing too including the library, bar, club and cafe. There are endless opportunities available here too which really encouraged me to join NTU. For example, in July, I am attending a summer school in Slovenia for 3 weeks paid for by the university which is an incredible opportunity. My tip for coming to NTU is take every opportunity, do not pressure yourself into going out if it isn't your thing and just enjoy yourself! First year goes by so quickly!

Good University and really good if you are an international student
Amazing stay! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The receptionist was absolutely wonderful—friendly, helpful, and made me feel so welcome. The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Best uni for employment and best nightlife

Studying TESOL at NTU has been a rewarding journey. The course is well-structured, with supportive lecturers and useful readings that truly deepen our understanding of language teaching. I’ve especially enjoyed the focus on real-world application, like analysing textbooks and evaluating vocabulary activities. The student life is vibrant, and the library is a great place to focus. My accommodation is close to campus, so commuting isn't a problem. However, some readings can be quite dense, and managing deadlines across modules takes careful planning. Overall, NTU provides a great learning environment for MA TESOL students, with strong academic support and a welcoming campus vibe.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at NTU. The social and city life is amazing with a good mix of urban and nature. There were things that could’ve been better on my course but I still enjoyed being here
NTU has been a great experience, mainly because of the amazing support system. However, accommodation needs major improvements, and some aspects of uni life could be better. Despite that, I’ve had valuable opportunities, met great people, and grown a lot!
Top tier facilities and equipment for anything audio related, the studios and equipment are always in perfect condition when you need to use them and the booking system is easy to use. My course has taught me everything I need to know for a good start in my career, and the lecturers are lovely people who are very easy to talk to about anything. Student services are responsive, accommodation is everywhere (go for the cheap ones, the people are always nicer there), and the nightlife is better than anywhere else.
Amazing student life ! Always an event or social to attend. Clean campus, my course is visibly however understaffed and underprovided for. Everything close together in the city so no need to travel too far.

NTU city campus is in such good location, everything is easy to get to and close to accoms. Clubs and societies are such a opportunity for socialising and meeting new people.

During my studies at NTU, I became chronically ill and disabled. My course team and the wider support at NTU (such as the disability team) provided so much support through this process as I had a pretty massive treatment for my health issues during this time. I have been supported every step of the way and feel safe to advocate for myself and others like me because of the support I have received. The teaching team for my course (biomedical science) are excellent both at lecturing and providing pastoral support to students. I would 110% recommend studying at NTU - especially if like me, you love pink!

Moving away from home, family, and friends completely and starting university at NTU has been a great experience. There are plenty of student accommodation options, both private and university affiliated, that will meet anybody’s different needs and are within a 10-20 minute walk from the university. The social life in the city is far from lacking, whether you drink or not, enjoy nights out or in, there is something for you to enjoy and a way for you to meet new lovely, fun people. The university itself is very organised and the first week or two make adjusting seamless. The course and people are great and I would, and do, recommend starting university here to anyone.
i have thoroughly enjoyed the course, although it was not what i expected from history. i was expecting constant essay writing for assignments but instead we have done a podcast, a film and made a digital map
The societies often don't put on enough events and there's barely any student union things that go on

From the start, my uni experience was great. Every day brought something new to learn and experience. I met great alumni, made new friends, and connected with my community like never before. I enjoy every moment of it and know I’m going to miss it once I graduate.
I was not sure about coming to the uk to study but over time it grew on me. The social life, support and environment make for an an amazing experience.

LOVE Nottingham Trent University, the social life is the best, teachers are great and support when it is needed. Student mentors are kind and helpful. They check in regularly to make sure that you are settling in properly and to make sure that you are ok. If you have any problems they are great to talk to.
I’ve really loved my course here at uni, studying illustration I have access to a lot of facilities. Love all my lecturers they all give great feedback and viewpoints. I’m part of a range of societies which all host regular events and have some lovely committee members. I haven’t done much with the students union but they hold regular events and stalls for prints and clothes. We receive regular emails with job and career opportunities. I’m yet to have issue with the WiFi.
NTU has a wide variety of courses taught by many amazing individuals and the community is very welcoming. It also has easy access to transport and shops which is very convenient for those living on and off campus.
Good university environment and facilities overall

There are plenty of study areas and classrooms that can be used to revise or to take personal time. With a wellbeing hub there is an abundance of support if needed. The facilities are excellent.
Good internet connection however struggled to initially log in, good activities on at the student union and good support

Great education, nice building, lots of societies and events.
I really appreciate how Nottingham Trent University keeps its courses up to date with industry standards, making sure we’re learning skills that actually matter in the real world. The tutors are super supportive, always giving helpful feedback and pushing us to do our best. Plus, the sports facilities are great—it’s nice to have a balance between studying and staying active.

NTU is a versatile and well-rounded university to study at. They have a strong focus on employability and make sure you feel prepared going forth after graduation. The social life in the area is really good, and city campus particularly has lots of social activities to offer. The student union is great at communicating new events and offers. The course content is pretty good and there are a wide-range of library and academic facilities to support you during studies.

NTU is an amazing university with MANY opportunities. I love my course, although there could be amendments to the structure, I thoroughly enjoy it. My accommodation is a bit far out and expensive for what it is, but I’ve had no issues so far and it’s still nice for what it is!

My Experience at Nottingham Trent University My time at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has been nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into a vibrant and supportive community that has shaped both my academic and personal growth. One of the highlights of my university experience has been joining the Burlesque Society, where I found a fantastic group of like-minded individuals who made my time at NTU even more special. I’ve made so many friends throughout the years, from my course, societies, and student life in general, creating lifelong memories along the way. Varsity has been a major part of my NTU experience, and attending the Ice Hockey Varsity match was a definite standout. The location is prime, being a stones throw away from the university campus. The rooms are spacious and the reception always has staff ready to help, all are very friendly. I strongly recommend.

I've been studying at Confetti London (NTU) since September and it is without a doubt the best decision i've made for my career as a Songwriter and Producer. The facilities are exceptional, the staff and tutors are amazing and always here to help. Everyone is so involved in making life on campus the best it can be. I would recommend Confetti to anyone without a doubt!

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has been an incredible place for my personal and academic growth, and a huge part of that is thanks to the amazing societies and extracurricular activities available here. From the moment I arrived, I knew I wanted to make the most of university life beyond just lectures—and NTU has exceeded all my expectations. One of the best decisions I made was joining the Snow Sports Society. Whether it’s the weekly socials, trips to the slopes, or just meeting like-minded people who share my love for adventure, this society has been a game-changer. The annual ski trip was an unforgettable experience, giving me the perfect balance of fun and challenge while pushing my skills further. But it doesn’t stop there! NTU offers such a diverse range of societies that there’s truly something for everyone. From sports teams to career-focused clubs, I’ve been able to develop skills, expand my network, and just have an absolute blast.
As an international student, I am used to the taught based style of education where I was amongst 1000s of students competing for one singular aim. This implies that individual students don't get much attention especially students with learning disabilities. This also implies that not much attention was given to the core of educating people rather, the importance of being admitted in a school as a mandate was given more precedence. This perspective of mine however is completely changed in the NTU. I love how passionate professors/tutors are over here and how important it is for them that every student prospers in their future. Sports Science department of the NTU have tutors who put their 100% and more everyday to mold us the right way and care for the wellbeing of students above all. My experience in NTU so far has been remarkable. 10/10 for experience.
My experience at NTU has been better than I expected, I have really enjoyed my time at the uni and exploring a new city on my own it took time to adjust however it feels like home now and I’m glad and happy with my decision with studying here. The societies are really enjoyable with the famous ocean Wednesday where I met my closets friends from there which shows how you progress in both personal and professional development.

I can confidently say that my experience has been nothing short of amazing. The university has an incredible atmosphere, and the learning experience in Mechanical Engineering has exceeded all my expectations. From day one, the campus has felt like a place where I can truly grow, both academically and personally.
Nottingham Trent University offers a fantastic learning environment, especially for postgraduate students in Medical Imaging Sciences. The course is well-structured, with a strong research focus and access to excellent facilities. The professors are knowledgeable and supportive, always encouraging critical thinking and practical application. The university provides good career support, but networking opportunities in the medical imaging field could be improved. Social life is vibrant, and the campus has a welcoming international community. While I didn’t stay in university accommodation, the city itself is student-friendly and easy to navigate. Overall, NTU is a great choice for anyone looking for a balance of academic excellence and a lively student experience.
As an international student , coming to the UK for the first time,living on my own,I had many fears when i came here.but being a part of NTU made me feel better,safeand confident.The campus was my second home as I stayed in the Student halls(Peverell) and honestly I loved it.Nothing more to say! I loved my experiences in the student halls. It made me feel less homesick as I found many new friendsand the staff were like family.Also the warmth the campus gave me can be unforgettable.I would do it all over afain if there was a chance. The lecturers were polite and helpful, especially Paula Hawkins,my personal tutor,she was the best support I had till now . Although the transportation was a bit hard as we didn’t have regular Uni buses throughout the year,so had to walk for 25-30 mins for grocery,and catching buses to work . The course was overwhelming at first ,but now as a 3rd year when I look back ,it was fun and I enjoyed every aspect of it.NTU gave me the best Student life.
Can't recommend NTU enough. I am currently in my second year of Primary Education on Clifton campus and I am loving every minute. Lecturers and wider staff are so supportive and helpful. Campus is clean, safe, has so many great places to study no matter if you prefer silence or being able to talk with background noise there is somewhere for everyone. Student support are so kind and helpful and you really do get the sense that the university cares about you.

As a first year Law student at NTU, i’ve had an amazing experience so far, there is always something exciting happening on campus, so many opportunities and experiences and new hobbies you can pick up at the Student Union. Staff are all so friendly and it is a very modern campus. The teaching is great and the help and concern for your well-being is also very good. I am happy with my decision of coming to NTU and would recommend it to others!

NTU university has been a great university to attend, with friendly high quality professors offering interesting and useful seminars/lectures. The clubs have been fun, and the people have been super friendly: The library and other facilities are of high quality and great use.
I never had connection within the business school I think a lot of my classmates have the same issue when trying to scan attendance but other than that I love it
So far studying at NTU has been a good experience, Al the tutors are really nice and are available to help whenever you need them, the facilities available really benefit what you’re producing throughout the course. The campus itself is really accessible, central location and easy to get around.

NTU is a great university if you are looking for a vibrant social life for THE uni experience. They have got so many clubs and societies to join, and you will definitely find somewhere that you belong and meet friends you will keep for a lifetime. Their careers service is impeccable; the Employability Hub offers students the maximum support you will need in your employability both during and after studies, and the university really prioritises our post-student life. The campus is very modern and clean, with various cafes, study rooms etc.
