Amazing experience, couldn’t of picked a better uni!
Fantastic lecturers who gave fast and accurate feedback.
Great uni, could do with some better facilities, depends on your course
Very good uni. Got a homely feel
Great campus, it's big enough so it doesn't all feel clustered, but you can walk around it all in about 5 minutes which is good if you have back to back lectures in different buildings. A lot of food options on campus too and very affordable. The facitilites are top notch quality and are kept in the best condition and they're always refurbishing or even buying new equipment to facitilate your study. They recently added Wi-Fi boosters in one of the building which makes the internet speed so much better and it would be great if that was installed in all buildings. Tutors are friendly and extremely helpful and make you feel welcomed, there's also so much help if you're struggling with mental health problems or stress. Library has everything you need, including lots of computers and also laptops that you can loan out if you don't have one and would rather do work at home. Library is also open 24/7 during term time. Overall a really great uni, would recommend.
Fantastic campus and state of the art facilities, helpful and friendly lecturers and members of staff.
Superb University and a superb experience, so much better than many others. These are the best years of your life make the most of them!
If your in the modern part of the Uni it is very nice and clean, some of the older sections aren't that great and are extremely dated. There are a lot of clubs and societies to join. The student union is nothing to shout about, the shop is overpriced. Careers service nothing to shout about, you basically have to do it all yourself and often feel like you are being palmed off. WiFi is absolutely terrible in parts of the university. You will find yourselves using data most the time.
Small university in a bleak town. Transferred after a year, not much accommodation variety.
Good internet and friendly people
Great times, great people in Huddersfield
I looked around a few universities before choosing Huddersfield and it's by far the best uni around especially for my course and what I'm wanting to do afterwards
Helpful facilities onsight, friendly atmosphere, would be helpful for more insight on societies but overall good experiences
Lovely friendly campus! If you're struggling Glenda from the wellbeing services or any of their staff in general are amazing!
I love the Uni campus it is so beautiful! All of the facilities are just amazing and there are hundreds of societies/clubs to choose from! You can access the wifi anywhere, anytime and it is super fast!
Really good university, would recommend to anyone who's looking, new campus with amazinf facilities
The campus is clean, bright and airy and I love the fact it is all on one campus and right next to the town centre so no public transport is needed. The wifi around campus is quite weak at times, but is sufficient enough.
Absolutely love the uni. I think that pole dancing should count as a sport so we don't have to pay but apart from that it's great
So far everything's been great.
The university itself was good. Facilities and culture was nice. My course however was a huge let down.
Amazing university, which you will only understand when you come here. It has a brilliant community, with small class sizes and smaller societies. It has a beautiful campus with a lot of money being put into new buildings and resources (but the campus des sometimes resemble a building site). Some parts do struggle from being a small Uni- especially the SU which somehow is not able to run a bar.. It is an great Uni, with amazing charm and a very personal touch, you will know every person on your course by your second year, a probably about half the campus.
Couldn't be happier at Huddersfield. Amazing University :)
Great campus with very helpful staff. Modern facilities and plenty of societies
Shocking! Very bad communication on the most basic level. Set up a disabled student to fall, no attempt to apologise or hell from them at all. Disgusting.
I think the university is fantastic and offers complete support for any type of person. Willing to care for those that need it. Facilities could be a bit better however the social aspect more than makes up for that loss.
Great uni. Really recommend it.
The university itself is beautiful with a really friendly environment. The societies aren't that good but other than that it's a pretty great place to study.
Great facilities, clubs are varied but expensive, union shop (like all other unis) is a MASSIVE rip off for food, just go into town for lunch. Careers supply opportunities constantly throughout my course, internet is amazing.
Everything about the Uni is amazing except the SU, there is no bar (the partner bar doesn't offer discounts and is expensive). The shop recently put their prices down to normal (not £2.50 for a cheese sandwich!) but the hot food counters are really yummy too.
Nice campus close to town and the bars, and some fab societies and people there
Clean modern campus, big library with 24/7 hour access except holidays. Staff on site friendly and helpful.
Perfect location! New campus is lovely
My course never really used the central services building because I am at the opposite side of campus. The wi-fi is awful and drops connection constantly. The health and well-being has helped me allot with allot of personal issues and issues from my halls. I have never used the careers service but I have herd that it is good.
I spent a year at Coventry which was absolutely awful so I transferred to Huddersfield. The university is so much better. The buildings are all modern unlike Coventry's flashback to the 60s/70s. The staff are all friendly and take genuine interest in students. The student support services have all been very helpful and the careers department put a real effort into each student. Also unlike Coventry there aren't as many foreign students who can't speak English holding the class back. It's a genuinely nice place to be.
It's a great uni. Plenty of things going on all the time. Shops, cafes and banks onsite. Great societies and lovely surroundings.
Shockingly average societies, lack of unison between university and the societies with a lack of teams as well (Hockey).
Fab uni, loads of support and help, haven't got a bad word to say about it!
I love it here. Best choice I ever made to move to Huddersfield. Made some lifelong friends
great uni with everything you need from support to facilities
The University of Hudderfield is amazing, so much better than I expected. The campus is lovely and quite small which I like as it is easy to navigate. There are plenty of clubs to get involved with and the facilities are excellent.
I'm based in the business school doing accounting and love the building and lectures halls I have, course is taught extremely well
A great University, great drama department, staff who care. Great social side
It's a really good university, but there are a lot of organisational issues with timetabling and a significant lack of communication.
Fantastic place to learn close with amazing facilities and staff
Huddersfield fantastic university for students to come together and collaborate cross courses by using facilities available which are first rate there is always an event going on organised by the su. The university has fantastic facilities good libraries sports hall and eateries which are great hang out spots for students.
Originally Huddersfield was my second choice but after visiting my first choice I have to say I preferred Huddersfield and I am so glad I came to Huddersfield my short experience has been outstanding
A lovely campus to study on, huddersfield has been good to me so far and the staff here are more than willing to put in the extra help if you need it.
The uni's beautiful, and has really great facilities. Only downside in my experience have been the societies, some of which seem to be badly run.
great campus, not had much to do with SU, loads of places to get a coffee
I haven't really got involved with many societies due to the work load however Huddersfield has a lot of societies that are always taking on and the student union are always running events too!
Brillant university! They care for their students
I love this university. With circa 20,000 students in a town of 150,00, it is well and truly built on student living - bars, clubs, food galore.
Amazing university with some spotty wifi but the teaching is amazing.
Good uni depending on the subject. Amazing music facilities and very friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic university, I feel right at home here
Huddersfield Univeristy has expanded during the past three years I have been there with newer fresher and more up to date facilities and technology which I have found to be beneficial.
I find that the services are great and having a Starbucks is amazing However campus kitchens and canteens are extremely expensive
Would recommend to anyone to study here
Does it's job, nice plan, especially for music
Honestly was terrified of going to university but the media and journalism team have helped me settle in and get used to the change in timetables and living away from home. The facilities are great and studio grade quality. Very happy that I decided to come to Huddersfield!
Great uni. But needs more societies. There's great art and design facilities.
In my experience, the staff are all friendly and know what they're talking about. There are plenty of career opportunities and a lot of courses offer an optional work placement in your chosen field in the third year. The course fees are currently cheaper than most other universities, sitting at around £8.5K a year. While the Uni's official accommodation is a few miles away, there are other choices which are on the same street as the campus. At the end of the year, you'll look back and realise how much fun you've had and how many stories you have to tell... before you remember you're going back in September to do it all over again. I highly recommend the University of Huddersfield.
Welcoming, the university makes you feel relax and calm trough all the process. The lecturers are amazing and modules very challenging
I've had age eat time at uni so far and the course has so far been great
The clubs are OK but the sports seem very competitive and it would be nice to play more relaxed. The students union is really just offices, a shop and a cafeteria, no bar or anything. The wifi is very hazzy too.
This university is the worst university in the whole world, unprofessional and mean tutors , distgusting study area. I have studied at this university unfortunately wnd since then I regret it every single day, I wish I could return back to the day that I had to decide between huddersfield and leeds. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. The most nagative point is the tutors who doesnt care if you okay mentally and physically and they never help you or support you.
Great University. Awesome facilities and a really strong focus on getting employment straight out of uni.
Very nice facilities all very modern
There is a new feel to the university. The library is brilliant with thousands of books and hundreds of computers, the printing facilities are excellent too. The teachers are very passionate about their work.
Amazing university! Everyone is so friendly and willing to talk. Facilities are great, especially the library once you get used to it.
I studies there from 1999-2002, it was pretty good and fun to be around.
Awesome uni, really student oriented, and they do their absolute best to make sure we do our absolute best and get the degree we deserve :)
It's a pretty good university, but the staff aren't very good at keeping you informed or doing things on time
It's a nice place, some lecturers are borderline competent, but the experience is great.
Fantastic university with amazing staff
Generally a good unI, with it being based on one campus life is a lot easier
Very good friendly university, helpful in everyway possible always someone putting you in the right direction. Kind teachers there to listen and help you out with situations and problems. Great facilities to use within all departments. Keeping up with the latest technology such as the newest 3D printers. Brilliant societies to join to make great friends.
Excellent university, with brilliant facilities.
Having the best time studying at the University of Huddersfield, the tutors are amazing, as are the campus and facilities
University of Huddersfield has very friendly and helpful staff. It is constantly being improved and upgraded with up to date technology and facilities. It has a very good student services. There are constantly new societies being formed, last year alone many new societies were formed including the Assassins Guild (H.A.G.S) which I founded. All societies are at a high standard and are a lot of fun! All round Huddersfield University is a great university and one to look out for in the future
Not bad... Not a great social place though
Great campus, brilliant new student union building
Excellent uni, very happy that I choose to study here. The help and gudiedess from tutors was always their when needed. Campus life is friendly and inviting. the uni itself has a wide rage of socities for studenrs to join and a hige range of student events within the party scence to make uni life as enjoyable as possible.
It has been a great experience doing my computing, engineering and science foundation year at the uni.
Very pleased with this University. Offers support where needed, great facilities (library, computers etc)
Amazing opportunities and fantastic lecturers. Always something going on with a busy social life.
Such a friendly place to be around. Always enjoy my time there and the facilities and teachers are fantasic!
Good university, university is very close with lots of local businesses. Good facilities and amazing support.
Not a bad uni. Course was not what I expected, didn't get what I wanted from it.
Great uni and lovely campus. Sometimes wifi doesn't work and is difficult to get a computer in the library sometimes.
Fab uni with excellent facilities and even better staff!
It's a really awesome place with excellent state of the art facilities for students due to it's brand new multi million pound refurbishment. I'm in applied science and lecturors are all literally at the top of their game. Their knowledge is outstanding and if a student shows they're willing, they'll do anything to help you achieve your best. Huddersfield is a great uni, it's got everything you could need and then some!!
Such a great uni with great and further improving facilities
Brilliant campus and great lecturers. Also just a lovely place to be.
I've been having a great experience at the university of Huddersfield however, I feel that the lack of a proper students union ruins the experience.
I love the university! Never thaught I would enjoy it as much as I do!
If studying textiles or any other creative subject then I would definitely say this is the best university I have found for facilities and industry links
Huddersfield is so friendly, you feel at home right away. In Human and Health Sciences, the staff are always helpful and you get loads of support. The SU are helpful when you need anything and put on some great nights and activities. Overall it is a fantastic little university in a wonderful town.
The universities facilities and union is great! Always trying to get all students involved especially for the clubs and societies. The only downfall is the wifi in the students union is slow and sometimes cannot be connected to.
Sudden change of course content for year 2014-15 for new intake of Architecture/Architectural Technology without prior notice. Thus causing even external examiners to notice the lack of high standard of work produced this year in addition to the cluelessness of every student after lectures.
