In terms of the actual campus, it's really not too bad, again I expected more because on an open day the uni only showed some of their best facilities, when you actually go to the uni and start studying the rooms and favilities are actually very old and really overused, the uni is just too crowded and personally I think the new su is a waste, I much preferred the old style pub su which felt far more like a students pub that whatever you want to call it now.
Bit out of the way in terms of the city but very friendly atmosphere and am really enjoying the first year so far. Would recommend uwe a lot
Lovely campus, everything is we'll caged and not difficult to find
I'm on Glenside campus. Beautiful, old building and grounds. Very modern and new on the inside. Student union at Glenside is a bit run down and the student shop is quite expensive. However, the student union on Frenchay campus is brand new and lovely. No free bus travel which is disappointing. £1 single ticket between campuses which builds up money. The alternative is a 30 minute walk uphill which is fine on a summers day. Less clubs and societies than I thought there would be but there are plenty of sport, musical and international student societies, if they suit you.
The new students union is not big enough for the amount of students on campus even though its newly built.
Great uni, great people, love it.
Enjoyable first year. Stayed in the brand new Wallscourt accommodation which was great but clearly built on a budget. Accommodation staff were rude and sometimes entered your flat without warning.
Great uni, with lots of support and just a nice place to be
First year has been brilliant. Everything is 5/5 except the student union. Maybe the new building and club on campus will boost that!
Great uni and great friends too
I am in my second year and happy to say that the university has the best facilities for a great curriculum. Very informed teachers is an added bonus. I am from computer science department.
I've loved being at UWE over the years and as a Student it has offered so many experiences and memories I won't ever forget
Excellent choice of uni with great facilities and opportunities
UWE is a very friendly and helpful university. My first year here has been enjoyable and insightful, it's clean and modern and also in the wonderful city of Bristol!
Great uni, friendly people and staff
Great university experience & plenty of support and advice available which is important.
Pretty sure everyone loves their own university but UWE is awesome!!
Not Bristol uni, the other one
I study at Bower, which is a lovely campus. Not too crowded, but there's always people around. Staff are very helpful and friendly all the time. There's a deer park next to the building, which is nice to look at if you're bored.. Plus plenty of green space of course. The library is good, you can hire macbooks out for the day, we have a super awesome editing/work centre (EPI centre), where the trained staff can help you with software and stuff. Internet is quite fast. Media centre and print centre is also free to use for anyone and you can hire out pretty much anything you could need (eg cameras, camcorders, sound equipment, etc), and use their facilities to make stuff (we have letterpress, etching, screen print, and other fun stuff). The bus service to and from campus can be a pain, but it's manageable.
Lovely campus, just wished it had a swimming pool! Got everything else you could wish for though! Close to supermarkets, restaurents and maccies too :) Plenty of sports clubs and performing arts/music activities to choose from, just wish there were more acahemic/interest societies (debating, subject societies, etc). The students union will probably be better next year because they're building a new one, but I wish they did more on campus activities. Like halls freshers and sports matches, and nights out, etc. Wifi available throughout. Academic facilites are good :) The careers centre is good too, as is the FET one in Q block, if you're studying a subject in that faculty. Bristol is a nice city to live in too :)
