I've really enjoyed staying here for the past few weeks! Amy and John have been super helpful with making sure everyone is settled in okay. I feel very secure with the 24hr security as well as the gates. My room is lovely and the common spaces are really good, I would recommend staying here for first year :)

Solid accommodation, especially for first years

only few days in and made some good friends, close to town and feel safe

I had such an amazing time in my first year at the Coalyard that I decided to rebook for a second year and I must say, It was just as good the second time around. Hygiene and cleanliness levels were of a high standard, staff were welcoming and friendly and the social areas were great. Overall a great experience and would most certainly recommend.

Chose to stay here for a second year as it is so nice, safe and a great place to live plus the rooms are modern and comfortable. Management are lovely and very welcoming. Great internet and never had any issues with it!

Really good student accommodation. Very nice rooms and big modern kitchen space. Really nice location, close to the city centre, a very short walk to university and Swift fitness gym is close by.

Really enjoyed my stay at the coal yard for my first year at York st John university. It is close Morrisons and the gym so super convenient and Also only a short walk to university and the town centre. the rooms are really clean and modern with nice big windows.

Location is spot on, 10 minute walk to uni and a 5 minute walk into town. Sight manager and care taker are top class, both easy to talk to and get stuff done quickly when you need any help with anything.

This is hands down the nicest university accommodation in York , the value for money and distance to local amenities cannot be beaten. The staff are always at hand to help , no matter what the issue.

Has a good time, met a lot of different people. I'd like to note that property management is indeed excellent and the manager is extremely friendly. The kitchen and bathroom appliances are tip-top, everything is fresh and refurbished.

It's a shame we couldn't score a little higher with our socials however we are a small site with limited social space and our events have been impacted this year by Covid, we are however hoping to have a number of fun events and competitions between now and the end of the year as government guidelines relax so do get involved with that! Also with our cleaning we do clean all landlord areas weekly ensuring site is tip top condition and also offer a complementary 2 hour kitchen/communal clean periodically to aid you and your flat mates out throughout the year! With the location, we would have to agree, it doesn't get much better being only 9 minutes away from YSJ! It's a shame Covid has impacted the social expereience this year however health and safety is a priority and once restrictions are lifted, we are sure to set up some great events!
