First, my total rent for the year was approx. £17,500. The place was filthy all year, housekeepers didn't ever seem to clean any space. One time, they pretended to bleach our toilet and left. It would have been easier for them not to come, makes no sense. Staff are very rude, any question you have they make it seem like you are a hassle and a pain. Partway through the year, staff began letting a stranger park on-site as they gave my room number as a reference. They then shouted at me for this security risk because I didn't know who they were. However, they didn't let me know and they let this person in. Very unprofessional and unsafe. They are very inconvenienced if you want your family to visit also, they are extremely unwelcoming and will take great pleasure in making you feel like you are doing something wrong. One staff member in particular was exceptionally friendly and even apologised when others were rude to us. For £15,000+ the room is basic, you get a small bathroom, bed,

It’s lovely to live in. Excellent morning meals for work days. And It is very convenient for me to get my parcels. I really appreciate Ebony for delivering parcels to my room :)
Vita Student is the worst student halls I've ever stayed in which as a postgraduate is saying something. The staff are unhelpful and unfriendly, treating you more like an annoyance than a valued customer; the halls are overpriced for what they are (expect to pay £13,500 for a small studio for a year) and they will try and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Don't expect to leave with any of your deposit left as they will make up reasons to take all of it off of you and have the cheek to pretend that they're undercharging you (i.e. they should ask you for EVEN more money). This accommodation would be particularly ill-suited for first years/new students in York (I was the latter in my first year here) because there is very little opportunity to meet any other students, most of whom are friends from back home and have no interest in socialising. Go for Student Castle or a halls on campus, avoid Vita like the plague!
