Great halls for being close to the uni. Loads of people to get along with and have a good time. Comfortable to live in too! Washing is expensive and not always reliable as is the post that goes to reception.

Amazing location, horribly run!! Two weeks after I'd moved in I was told I had to move flats due to refurbishments which apparently couldn't have been done the fortnight before during the summer holidays! Had to pack and move all my stuff up two floors in a one day time limit with no help from staff except one cardboard box. The new flat hadn't been cleaned: the carpets were dirty, fridge had old, spilled food in, my room (including bathroom and on my actual mattress!!) was littered with cardboard, old coffee cups and loose screws (thank god i saw them before lying on my bed). On top of this, my toilet flush didn't work in my new flat and it took a week or so for them to fix it. During this week I asked several times to which they said they'd 'send someone up' and it took my dad calling angrily for them to actually do something. Basically I spent £150ish per week to flush my toilet by pouring a bathroom bin full of water down it! Wouldn't recommend!
I had to move out after one night. It was party central until the early hours and the noise carries across the courtyard. If you are a more serious postgrad I’d suggest this may not be the best choice
Liberty Park was not my first choice of accommodation...or any of my choices for that matter. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with the standard of the entire complex as well as the living areas and in-flat facilities. Trust me, you will be very grateful for an en suite bathroom when living with strangers for the first time! It's also a reasonable distance from Uni, town and Fallowfield aka where the fun halls are. Now for the negatives. If you're looking for a lively student experience, full of crazy antics and events, do not come here. I've honestly seen more social life in a morgue. Whilst all your pals in Fallowfield are partying every day, expect to be sat alone in your room, wallowing in the all-consuming realisation that your first year is being wasted. Meeting people outside of Freshers Week - arguably where most of your new Uni friends are made - is a challenge equal to that of climbing Mount Everest. If you get sent here, aim to move out ASAP to avoid living in a state of dread.
I didn't pick Liberty Park as one of my top choices, but after living here for 3 months I can safely say I'm so glad I ended up here, the accommodation itself is very modern and clean with new furniture. The bedrooms are quite big and have loads of storage (I genuinely was shocked that I had room left after unpacking). Don't understand why people don't think its sociable, there are parties every night and there are so many opportunities to make friends with people. However, unlike Fallowfield accommodation, you can still do work and stuff without feeling bad for not going out lol The caretakers are jokes aswell everyone loves them & theres free food/drinks in the reception like every day

Good wifi, close to uni buildings. Quiet apart from ambulances from the hospital across the road. Difficult to socialise as no common room or bar so making friends in the halls can be difficult if you don't get on with your flatmates.
I have felt really lucky to have been given Liberty Park to live in because it is located in the perfect place for me: 15-20 min walk from the uni, 10 min walk to shops like Lidl, Poundland, Tesco Express, Morrisons, Superdrug etc. It's also has the balance of having sociable people here, but also those who want to knuckle down and work and not stay out till the early hours of the morning. Quiet, but socialising does happen. There is a lovely mix of people here, including a lot of international students, as well as students from the UK. It feels extremely safe (use a fob to get in to the complex and block) and the reception staff are helpful and welcoming. Double bed and ensuite bathroom are great and the kitchen is lovely! Would definitely recommend for anyone who is able to afford (it is a little on the pricey side for what you get) and wants there experience at uni to be a balance of working and socialising. Close enough to be convenient yet far enough to feel out of the way.
If you are coming to live in liberty Park please take photos of everything when you move in!! And thoroughly fill out the room/kitchen inventory, so that they can't try to charge you for something you didn't damage. Also, my flat's showers were awful (temperature mainly cold or boiling hot sometimes, no water pressure) but not all flats had this problem. Maintenance never fixed my shower, sometimes they would fix things as expected and sometimes you wouldn't have something fixed for months. As for social experience, I think I was fortunate with my flat being friendly but a lot of other flats had people that didn't want to talk. However, you can always make friends in freshers with the other flats so this isn't a big problem. The internet was really intermittent, sometimes not working at all (during busy times in the evening). But at least you won't have to get a bus into uni!!

Really modern living area and kitchen and also very clean. Rooms are spacious and staff are fairly nice. Not the most sociable of halls as there is usually someone in each flat who doesn't come out of there rooms. However, I've found a great group of friends from around different flats in my block from socials during freshers week and meeting over the Facebook group before we arrived!
Lovely accommodation, but not worth upwards of £125 a week. No cleaning services provided (whereas other accommodations have a regular cleaning service), but we still have intrusive flat inspections where we are expected to clean the flat to a "brand-new" standard. Fines are ridiculous - we had a broken Henry Hoover, and were charged £200 to replace it. For the record, that same model was available on Amazon for £98. Basically, it's one of the posher halls available, but it's not worth the price you pay for it compared to other university halls or private accommodation.
Upper Brook St is a very busy traffic route and so road traffic noisy is an issue if your room is facing the road. Manchester's A&E is also located on the road and so during all hours of the day there are ambulance sirens going past the halls. To be honest, this isn't a huge issue as long as you have ear plugs! We are located close to the university campus and it only takes about 20 mins to walk to my lectures. The bathrooms are a good size and the showers are hot, good pressure. Our kitchen is newly refurbished and so is a lovely space to cook in. Storage is limited and the fridge provided is small for 4 people to share. The halls do provide you with kitchen appliances and pots and pans however which is useful. We were also provided with a vacuum, mop and dustpan and brush. The halls are very secure so I do not worry about robbery. Flats are 4 people so can be quiet but you can socialise with people in your block.
