Goods Corner Biography
Goods Corner is modern student accommodation in Edinburgh. It is particularly well located for those studying at the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings as the campus is just a short walk away. All the other Edinburgh universities are easily reachable either by a quick cycle or public transport. You’ll find shops, restaurants, parks and more all within walking distance.
Residents can enjoy fantastic communal spaces to socialise with friends and neighbours. The communal lounge includes ping pong, a TV and vending machine making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day at uni. There is also a lovely garden and courtyard for you to use during the summer months. To ensure your stay is as convenient as possible, there is a study area, bike storage, CCTV, onsite maintenance and all-inclusive bills.
There are 8 different-size studios on offer or a 2-bed apartment. All rooms are well furnished with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and a private study area. The studios come self-contained with an ensuite, kitchen and living space whilst in the 2-bed apartments you share the communal spaces with just 1 other person. You will also benefit from WiFi and handy onsite laundry facilities.

It's close to the school and there's a big supermarket nearby，which is very convenient.

You can also take a short 10 minute bus ride into town or find eveyrthing you need at the local shoppping Center. Cannonmills is only a 5 minute walk from Goods Corner. Goods Corner is the best student accommodation I have ever lived in. There are very neat and tidy common areas. The location is also great, with three bus stops and a large shopping mall right on the doorstep. Many thanks also to Ewa at the front dest for all the help she brought.

Goods Corner has been the perfect student residence for me during my academic year 2021-22! I'd a wonderfully spacious studio & I'd the opportunity to interact with some of its friendliest & kindest staff members including Ewelina, Erin, Keith, Grant & Alex! At the time of booking my studio, I received plentiful advice from Alex, the Accommodation Manager alongside the UK Guarantor, Housing Hand. Both Grant, the former Property Services Assistant & Erin, the former Customer Service Advisor were extremely generous & helped me to get acquainted to just about everything within the accommodation during my early stages there. On a bi-weekly basis, Ewelina, the current Customer Service Advisor, often invited the student residents to participate in various fun activities, all of which aided me to destress from my very hectic academic workload. I even won an UNO competition once that Ewelina organised! Overall, I'd wholeheartedly recommend Goods Corner to any student deciding to reside there!

This is my second year at Goods Corner and this alone should suffice to express my comfortability, appreciation and overall satisfaction with the place. The people who work here are no cold strangers but rather friendly, resourceful efficient employees who treat you like a neighbour. The studios come with enough amenities for any student to work, cook and live well. The location is serene, ideal for studying, but still has a handy shopping centre next door. The living experience does get better if you get a studio in the upper floors.

Flat 118, goods corner. Everything is fine. However, the window sound insulation is not good, the sound of car is noisy.

I stayed here twice during this year, two months at the beginning of the first semester and two months at the end of the second one. I was glad to come back, as Goods Corner is just a short walk away from King's Buildings and right in front of bus stops to reach the city centre comfortably. The staff is very warm and welcoming, the common spaces are clean and activities are organised throughout the year to meet other residents.

Goods corner has felt like home instead of just a student accommodation for me. I could go on about the amazing facilities such as en-suite bathroom, a highly equipped kitchen area, great location and the spacious common room, but what you really need to know about is the wonderful staff. I lived here for a year in my 3rd year of uni, and now that I just graduated and needed a short term let, this place was my first choice to live, and that is all because of the exceptional people working here, with Alex and Grant being at the top of the list. They both have talked to me like a friend and gone above and beyond to help me several times. They make sure to listen to all your suggestions and are always up for a nice chat if you need someone to talk to. They have been extremely kind and generous and I cannot thank them enough for providing me with such a warm living experience.

This accommodation is perfect those want their own space and a quite environment. The staff are very friendly and most helpful! Alex the manager will do almost anything to help and everyone loves a chat in this place! The flats are spacious and warm with excellent facilities , including a proper fan oven which is more than most student studios. It is very convenient with the shopping centre right opposite, with Sainsbury's, Aldi's and the gym. There are regular buses to the centre (the most I've waited is 5 minutes) and the hospital is just down the road (was useful for me as a medical student). Nice big TVs in the rooms for Netflix to! I'm a graduate student so for me, having my own space and a quite nights sleep means a lot. This place really isn't far from the social scene either, it's very easy to get back and forth from the center! There's a ping pong table in the common room and a nice garden for bbqs! Excellent value, I'd really recommend it.

I think goods corner is a really good choice to rent your room. Firstly，it is very convenient for student whose department is in king‘s building of the university of Edinburgh and want to live near the school（about 7-8minutes walking to school.） Alex、Grant and Erin are all very nice people working in the house, and of course, Hanna, even though she no longer works at the reception, we missed her a lot. They also help collect the delivery and manage the parcels well，you can come to pick them anytime time when they are working. There are also three student assistants, one of whom was a lovely girl named Elizabeth who spoke Chinese, they are very friendly and are grateful to help you. In general, this is a warm and safe apartment with lots of group activities, not only have our own space but also can discuss with our friends in the common room～

I think the living environment here is very good and safe because it is accomodation. And it is convenient to shop because the Sainsbury’s and some other supermarkets are close to here. The staff are also very friendly. They have provided me with a lot of help!

I’m a student nurse and they have been able to accommodate brilliantly throughout my stay! Staff are lovely,helpful and always on hand if there is anything needed. Staying here makes it worth living away from home. It’s in an amazing area with everything to hand, not far from the hospital (essential for my placement) and a bus can take you anywhere needed. The shopping centre is close by so it’s handy to grab shopping when needed. I have loved staying here and have met some amazing people throughout my stay. There is always an event on which makes it exciting despite the covid pandemic. Can’t fault the accommodation at all!

Goods Corner always organizes some small weekly events, sometimes for portable breakfasts, sometimes for pancakes. This makes me a foreign student alone in a foreign country feel very warm, have the feeling of home. Besides, the rooms in GC are new and the facilities are perfect. It's very comfortable to live in.

Lovely modern building with spacious, comfortable rooms and great storage space. Really close to Cameron Toll, Kings Buildings, and loads of bus connections to all over Edinburgh, including the Royal Infirmary. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and approachable, always putting students first whether it be a broken utility, or simply for a chat! Even through these times, they put on great virtual events for the residents. Would absolutely recommend to any student looking for a quiet, comfortable, cozy, and reasonably priced place to live during their studies!

This is currently my second year in this accomodation and i can comfortably say i am pleased with it. It is one of the better if not best looking sudent accomodations in Edinburgh and if you study at Kings campus the location is great. All the onsite staff have been very friendly and helpful along the way, i would highly recommend this place.

I have been here for almost two years The price is the best in comprising to other students accommodations in Edinburgh The location is perfect, two bus stations are no more than 3 min walking and 15 min from KB as well Cameron toll with many stores and GP are within 10 mins on foot Alex is great and always helps and tries his best in making our experience in the accommodation good and enjoyable I would love if they could do more of social activities such as BBQ Wejdan

This is a very good student accommodation which is very close to KB campus of the UoE. It is very convenient to live here, as the supermarket is just near it and you can walk to KB campus in five minutes. But the social experience is not very good as there are only studios in this flat and common room is not very big. Totally, I am satisfied with the experience here.

I’ve been living in this accommodation for almost a year now. Its such a convenient place to be, especially if you’re studying at kings building campus. Ever since i moved in, the place has felt very homey, the staff is all very friendly and love a chat so you never feel alone. All of the staff members have at one point or another gone above and beyond to help me and make me comfortable and I’m very thankful for it. The common area is great and a good place to make friends. I made some amazing friends when using the common room.

I spent two years here in the same room. I had a luxurious room and had plenty of people envy me especially for the price i paid. I was also lucky as I got a room facing the yard and I always appreciated the view as the seasons come and go. I have no complaints on the wifi, cleaning or security. But I would love to highlight the meaningful conversations I get to have in the mornings as I leave for classes, with Hannah, Alex, Grant or Yaseen. They were delightful and I would like to thank them publicly here.

I stayed in Goods Corner for 2 years and would highly recommend anyone studying in Edinburgh consider staying here. Staff are absolute class, they go out of their way to help and are always up for a chat. When there are any issues, they're always very informative and transparent. The rooms have surprisingly copious storage space and a well equipped kitchen. Internet is quality, each room has its own fibre internet connection. The communal areas are pretty good too, with a ping pong table in the common room and a few TVs. Facilities are excellent in Cameron Toll. There's a shopping center just a few minutes walk away with supermarkets, coffee shops, chemist, banks and a gym. Goods Corner is ideal for students at the University of Edinburgh as it is just a few minutes walk from Kings and there are excellent bus routes into town. As the Covid-19 pandemic took off in the UK, staff were on the ball: we were kept well informed and measures were put in place to help keep everyone safe.

The location of this accommodation is superb as it is across from Cameron Toll - a shopping centre, and a 10min walk from Kings building. These factors definitely help make things easier. The rooms may initially be daunting but once personalized and you are settled in, are great. The staff is very friendly, approachable and offer their advice and assistance to the best of their ability. They also acknowledge holidays/traditions celebrated here and also by students. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

My name is Brandon and I have been staying here for the past year. The best thing about this place would definitely have to be the staff, there has been some changes here and there but generally all the staff are super nice and very helpful. I know all of them by name and they always try to do something just for some comfort especially when you are having a boring day. It is one of the better priced studios compared to others in Edinburgh, as it is further away from the city but not too bad for what you get. The location may be further from the city but the buses are literally right outside the building so I would say very convenient. The sainsbury in Cameron Toll is only 3 minutes walk away so groceries or late night snacks are not really a problem. The place is always cleaned regularly and any issues are solved very quickly and answers are always given for whatever issues you may have. There is table tennis and big TVs that you can use to have switch parties, netflix partiesetc
Covid-19: they have been increasing the cleaning and wiping down surfaces, as well as reducing staff at the front desk to reduce social contact, great stuff all around.

The goods corner management is really professional and they are keen to listen to us, the tenants.
