Really nice place to live, as it is one of the closest accommodation to shops, clubs and the town. Also a short walk to lectures. Feels safe and clean. En-suite is a huge plus and you can use the very hot towel rack to dry smaller clothes. Kitchen is good, you will need a toaster though. My top tip would be make friends with the other floors on in your block on freshers day :) maybe bring round some chocolates

Not going to lie- had a pretty grim experience here. A lot of untrue rumours would spread around the accomodation (which, of course, could happen anywhere), showers leaked and a lot of the other students I knew at Lydford had a pretty miserable expereince. I was in the COVID cohort, so we had to rely on virtual learning in our first year. One side of the accomdation had a massive issue with the wifi. The connection was pretty poor and a lot of us could not gain access to our zoom meetings, meaning we lost out on a lot our seminars and lectures. However, I would say the location is a redeeming quality; it's quiet and pretty out the way. Cleaners that came in once a week were a life saver, too. However, the communal stairwell was not the cleanest. Due to the accomodation being on the smaller side, I became incredibly close to a fair few of my blockmates, too. Hopefully they'll be friends for life!

Relatively good value - the best things about it are the double beds, the large open plan kitchen and living space and the ensuite toilets and showers. The fact you share the kitchen and living space with 5 others is also great. Two hobs in the kitchen, an oven and two fridges. I spent my first year in St Germans - Lydford. This was in 2020-21 so Covid heavily effected my experience. However, I still had a great experience there. People were friendly, outdoor area was really nice, facilities were good, cleaners always did a thorough job. So close to forum, the central university buildings and best of all it is not a hilly area of campus. It is close to many of the popular residences such as Lafrowda, Rowe House, East Park. There are 4 blocks in St Germans and they are all similar but there are slight nuances - such as a round kitchen table vs a rectangular kitchen table and slightly different layouts. Only issue - Showers leaked for many weeks upon my arrival.

Loved it! I was a bit worried before I came because it is a small hall and people said it tended to be quiet. That was not an issue in my block.. Obviously it just depends on who you end up with but my block got along really well, we had pres together all the time and sat outside on the grass as soon as the sun was out. I know it wasn't like that in all the houses but if you don't get along with your block or flat you are at least really close to campus and Lafrowda which is massive, and if you make friends in your course instead chances are at least a few of them live in Lafrowda. Also, double bed, en suite (not a wet room thank god). big kitchen and "living room" with bean bags and sofas that only 6 people have to share. also we had the best cleaning lady, make friends with them and they will probably let you get away with more than they should.. my only complaints are the very creaky floors in some rooms/flats and the wifi was sometimes garbage...

Everything you'd want from first-year accommodation. Along with Lafrowda and Rowe, it's the closest you can get to the centre of campus, and is only a 10-15 min walk into town. Socialising is really easy because each house making up St German's is a lot smaller compared to other accommodations, so it has a 'family' vibe. You also get a double bed, a big wardrobe, and an ensuite with a proper shower door (not just a shower head that sprays straight onto the floor). Score!

Great social side, friends with everyone in the block. Facilities there tend to be great, wifi can be a bit patchy in places however.

The halls were great! Double beds large living room area with a huge kitchen and dinning table! Although older than other accommodation around there was much more space and I am glad I chose it!
