In March 2020, Liberty allowed me to cancel my contract for semester 3 due to the pandemic. They said I could keep my belongings in my room until it was safe to travel. At the end of May, I was told that the government has deemed travel safe and I was to pick up my belongings. I emailed back, asking if I could postpone moving out as I live with someone who is shielding. I received no reply. I also called multiple times, but was unable to get through to anyone. I had to travel up in the middle of a pandemic to remove my belongings, even though I had to return to my home that I shared with my vulnerable family member. I appreciate being able to cancel my contract, but it was incredibly dangerous and unethical to make students travel during a pandemic.

At first, had no hot water in my flat after 6pm until after a month living here and endless complaints. WiFi is slow, kitchen filthy despite complaining multiple times about it. No lifts. Refusing to let students cancel contract early in response to coronavirus - profiting off vulnerable students and putting lives at risk by forcing them to stay until the end of tendency. Do NOT live here, Belgrave view is much nicer and they don’t take advantage.

Not too expensive, but it's a pain having to get the train to uni every day. Constantly either left out of UoB events or get the crappy end of the stick. Handy being so close to Broad Street though.

Although you have to get a train into uni everyday (which are so so unreliable) the halls are in a great place! All my friends complain about events on Broad Street being so far but here we're literally a 5 minute walk from some of the best clubs in the Midlands. Also only a short walk into the main shopping areas, which is awesome! Another point is that it is great if you love music, super close to the O2 Academy and the Barclaycard Arena! It is a little pricey, but you get a great little ensuite and now huge beds! The staff at liberty are really friendly and get problems fixed ASAP. The kitchen and social area is much nicer than other Birmingham halls. And the best thing is that it is really safe, with round the clock security and gated access. I really would recommend it if you want to get a feel for Birmingham as it is right in the city centre!

For the full uni experience do not stay here. These halls are not social at all compared to the ones on the vale. You also have to take a train to the uni (out of your own money) or a 45 min walk. We also have mice in our kitchen, as do many people in other flats in this accommodation with the management being very slow to act. There was also lots of mould in my bathroom when I moved in which is gross. However, the kitchens are really spacious and the location is really good for city centre/broad street.

Nice rooms with fairly fast wifi. Poor common room facilities but good washing and good management. Relatively a long way from UoB but v.near to train station(s) and city centre shopping.

Personally I wouldn't recommend it over the other UOB halls. The actual site is quite spacious though with car parking spaces, even though it is a whole bus ride away from the uni, or train, (either way its money out the pocket). The common room I've never actually been in so I can't comment too much on it other than the fact that nothing much ever happened in there in terms of social activities. With regards to social activities, there was rarely any proper events for our halls. The actual living space is hmm..decent. The kitchen is very spacey but the actual bedroom is very small. Had to end up cleaning and hoovering it several times a week as it got so easy to mess up. The wifi was good though, didn't have any problems. Final point, I had a mouse in the room in fresher's week. And one more again during term in the kitchen. The kitchen.. If this problem could've somehow been sorted, my impression of the halls would've been a lot different.

Location was great for city centre, but really far from UoB. Social activities were non-existant, there was a bar/social room on premises but it was never open, and there were no proper student representatives for our halls. No transport provided by uni, all funded out of our pocket (other halls far away got bus passes/an optional free bus. Facilities were good and they were good at fixing stuff, but they really stung us when we left on 'damage', despite the cracks in the wall being structural, not induced by us or anything we did, and the place was in an excellent condition, we should have got our deposits back in full.
