My flat was the biggest reason for my bad experience of first year. Room is nice and spacious with nice ensuite but that's as far as it goes. Minimal effort in kitchen with basic table and chairs - did not make it feel cosy at all. Only had one fridge despite having seven people. Not enough shelves in the fridge and I complained many times over my stay both through reception and the app - they did nothing about it. Another issue was my lock broke on room door and was not able to enter using room key. Reported this to reception and they said someone would be with me within an hour, nobody came. Managed to get in eventually but wasn't able to lock it. Took them a week to come and fix so all my belongings were at risk during that time! Didn't get along with any of my flatmates. They didn't let me move rooms even though my mental health was suffering. They were dirty and loud, one of them kept breaking the flat door so couldn't enter flat! Lot more happened but reached max words!

Generally good to live in. Shafiq on reception was really helpful when finding me my parcel and was friendly and cheerful.

I had ordered a bedding pack through unite and it has not been delivered. Visited the unite reception more than a dozen time. Staff is not helpful at all

Hi there, We have been quite busy at the man reception due to excess amount of parcels ,as the majority of parcels have been cleared if you go down to Harriet Martineau main reception we will be able to look further into your missing parcel.
The WiFi is faulty, doesn't work half the time. The room heaters are not being switched on and it has already reached 6°C. The service is atrocious at Unite, doesn't seem you guys care.

Hi there , Sorry to hear about the issues you are having ,if you are still having wifi issues if you would like to contact Glide customer services who will be able to look into these issues for you and find a resolution as it is not something we deal with in house.In regards to heaters if they are not working we can send a member of the maintenance team to look into this for you.
Ben Davis at the reception is like your guiding angel if you stay at William Murdoch. The thing with problems is, that we find them every where. But if you can't find a guy like Ben Davis who takes his job very seriously and actually help the students, it will be very difficult.

It was bad experience to stay with unite students. No one cleans. The social space was closed for maintenance for 9 months out of 12. The reception hardly has anyone there. There are huge queues of students always and only 1 receptionist at the desk. There is absolutely no privacy. Maintenance staff enter rooms during the day and sometimes even without knocking. Vaccum cleaners kept going missing and were replaced only after constant and repeated complaints. Parcels are sorted very late and notifications sometimes come only after 2-3 days.

Hello Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It is sad to read you are not quite happy with the services that we offer. We do provide a cleaning service every day across all of the properties, and our reception teams usually have up to 3 team members at a time from 8am until 8pm daily. We understand that there is sometimes a waiting time for reception and we try to ensure no one waits too long, having designated parcel queues as this is usually what our students are asking us for. At peak times for parcels such as Black Friday and Christmas, we do receive an unprecedented amount of parcels and this does take time for us to log. The teams on reception work very hard to process all and will look for a parcel for you if it hasn't been logged if you provide us with a description of the parcel and proof of I.D. There is a designated welfare room just to the side of reception so if you felt you needed some privacy, you can ask for this at any point and a team member will be happy to chat to you away from the reception. Our facilities team will always knock 3 times prior to entering a room and will announce themselves. If you have logged a maintenance request, then this usually stipulates our time of entry and that our teams will enter the room if you are not there. There are incidents where our teams have knocked and have had no response, so they have entered to help resolve a maintenance issue that has been raised. If you would prefer to be present, you can make us aware when logging the maintenance request and all other planned maintenance is communicated with at least 48 hours' notice. We would love the opportunity to have a chat with you about your experience to see whether we can improve the experience you have so far. The rooms are designed extremely well, there is more than enough storage space available and the drawers and wardrobe are very generous in size. The 3/4 bed was very comfy too! The doors sealed off noise quite well so you usually can't hear anything in the kitchen (unless you are next to it). The cleaner came in every week and did a good job. Sometimes the parcels would take a while to be sorted, and maintenance requests were not always completed. However overall it was fine. The internet is good when it works but it cuts out randomly and quite frequently, make sure you save everything! Overall i would say 4/5 stars, you won't be disappointed
Great people, clean and in date rooms with plenty of facilities
A bit pricey but a spacious double bed room with large desk and en suite so not bad. Hall management is great with late open reception etc. Cleaners regularly clean the kitchen. Internet is fast enough to online game with very little to no lag. And made loads of mates so no social issues
Halls are all very modern and clean! Location is in the city centre and walkable to near enough anywhere in Birmingham

If you pick this accommodation, be careful of debt rising and none of your preferences being take into account. Do not pick this accommodation. No joke!
Free wifi, lots of people in this building with eight floors, although other buildings (James Watt and Mary Sturge) have 17 or 18 floors, the views of Birmingham are amazing. We have a common room, sofas and TV downstairs. We have a cleaner and our kitchen and bathrooms get cleaned regularly. Bins are also cleaned often and campus is always tidy. On campus we have Canadian geese and a lake, which is beautiful especially in a large city. Rooms are very big and spacious, lots of shelves, lighting and plugs. I also have a double bed. Location is on campus so I can get to my lectures in less than 5 minutes and it's in the centre of the city, 5-10 minute walk from the Bullring. Plenty of shops and Tesco, library, shop Subway and Pubs on Campus to name a few. It's a small campus so everyone knows each other.
They could come and clean more times
William Murdoch is a very good accomodation, it has everything you need! The cleaning services are good, although most of the time you have to clean for yourself!!
It's ok. (now i just need to make up the 20 character min)
