Athena Studios Biography
Home to 259 students, Athena Studios is conveniently located directly opposite the University of Birmingham. Close by in Selly Oak, you’ll find a great range of pubs and restaurants, as well as convenience stores including an ALDI supermarket. The accommodation is also only a twenty-minute bus ride from Birmingham city centre.
You can enjoy time in the common room which is kitted out with sofas, a TV and ping pong. Athena Studios offers a garden with a decked area and picnic tables to enjoy on warmer days.
All the bedrooms at Athena Studios are self-contained studio apartments. That means you’ll have your own kitchen and bathroom within your living space - ideal if you’re looking to live independently without sharing.

The ventilation system in the corridor is not good, the air is not circulating, the summer is very hot, and there is no indoor fitness equipment. However, the front desk service is very good, can collect the express delivery, especially Marine Li, very responsible for our safety, and often chat with us, let us feel at home.
Although there is less public space, the excellent location of Athena Studio made me choose it. The variety of activities from time to time made it interesting for me. The staff here made me feel very welcome. Every time I entered and left the flat Marine greeted me gently, Demi and Drew were eager to solve problems. And the night team, they work hard too. The staff at Athena Studios are very nice people. If considering a flat near the University of Birmingham, Athena Studios would be a good choice.
Generally speaking, the Studios are good. When I met a problem that the light was suddenly turned off, I don’t know how to solve it. And after I told the staff - Nana, he was helpful and very kindly came to my room to solve the problem.
It is right opposite the school, very easy to get around and close to the bus stop, like a big family, my room had a great view and I liked many parts of the place, the staff, the environment and the new friends.

Overall, I had a good experience living in this studio. But the wifi is often bad and the fire alarm testing can be annoying sometime.

Aga, Marine, and Demi are helpful and nice!
The team is amazing,the reception Marine and Agha are conscientious and responsible. They often communicate with us about big or small things in the accommodation.The answers to the rent and other questions are very professional and detailed.
I like the receptionist Marine Li very much, every time I bought a lot of express, she will take the initiative to ask me if I need help and help me, every time in and out of the door will say hi to each of us, several times maintenance activities, she helped me deal with in a timely manner, people are really very nice, with her in, I am super safe feeling.

The smoke detector alarms on Wednesdays, which is annoying.

I have enjoyed my stay at Athena Studios and have felt safe, comfortable throughout my time. I would like to thank all the staff especially aga, marine and demi who are really helpful and kind and helped my uni experience be so much better. I also would like to thank all the people who help clean the area to make it a nice and hygienic place to stay and grateful to anyone else also who I have not mentioned that make this an amazing place to stay. It is a perfect location for easy access to shopping, food, campus, health centres and university areas.
